Wow! I have written a lot of reviews on different sites in the last 20 years, but I don't quite know how to say just how fantastic and different Brinton Vision is. Trust me when I say that there is no comparison between Brinton Vision and the cheap-o box Lasik places that advertise all over. Never before have I been to a doctor's office where I felt more like I was the priority. When you walk in, you're greeted with a smile and a drink menu (!). At the front desk (although it's hard to call it that because it's such a pretty area), Maile and Chelsea are super friendly and made me feel comfortable right away. I worked with Clay, Mike, Ali, and Nicole, and every one of them displayed professionalism mixed with genuine caring, kindness, and knowledge of what they do. I know there are other people behind the scenes, too (sorry that I don't know their names) and everyone there seems to genuinely enjoy each other and what they do. There are seven fancy high tech machines that they use in their exams, and it was kind of like walking through a spa to do each one. Two other places I went only had a couple, and now that I look back, I feel like those places rushed me through to make a sale. Not at Brinton Vision. They explained that not everyone is a candidate for laser eye surgery, but that when they are, many times one of the other six procedures Brinton Vision does is better for their eyes and vision than Lasik (which they do, too). I'm really impressed by this because so many other places I researched only do Lasik or maybe one or two other things. There's an old saying that, when all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. I am glad Dr. Brinton is so knowledgeable about so many different procedures because I feel like he can give patients what will work best for them, and not just a one-size-fits-all kind of fix. Added bonus: Some of the laser surgeries they do work on people who can't get Lasik for one reason or another. So if you have been somewhere else and told they couldn't help, Brinton Vision may be able to. And speaking of Dr. Brinton ... if you have checked out his resume on the Brinton Vision website, you'd think that he was 50 or 60 years old because he has done *so* much. Among other things, he graduated from Harvard Med School and was the first in the state to do some of the procedures Brinton Vision offers. He's a young guy, but he teaches other surgeons how to perform some of them and was named a Top Doctor in refractive surgery. That gave me an incredible amount of confidence coming in. Once I met him, I felt like he really cared and that he took the time to review my results so that we both had a good understanding of my eyes and my vision before he made a recommendation. At other places, I didn't meet the surgeon at all, and I found out that a lot of times they just come in on the day of surgery to run an assembly line of patients through the laser. To me, that means they aren't as vested in the outcome as Dr. Brinton. It means a lot to me that he actually puts his name on his practice and owns the results. At my consultation (they call it a BVOA), Dr. Brinton spent over half an hour with me talking about my results after I'd already spent about 40 minutes doing tests. It was very thorough and never once did I feel rushed. He explained that he wanted to give me all the information I needed to decide how I wanted to move forward, which was completely unexpected after my visits to other places. Thanks to all the staff who helped me and to Dr. Brinton, who is, as far as I'm concerned, the best of the best (and to a great financing plan that will make it possible), I am looking forward to my procedure -- and it is not Lasik, which was recommended by the other places and would not have been my best choice. Brinton Vision helped me make the decision that was right for me and did not push me toward something that wasn't best just to make his wallet fat or because that's all he knew how to do. I know I made the best choice when I went to Brinton Vision. They are not the cheapest place, but you get what you pay for. The way I see it, this isn't about getting a new purse or new shoes; it's my vision and this is surgery on my eyes. That's not something anyone should be trying to use a coupon on, imo. I had been wearing reading glasses for at least 15 years. I had glasses everywhere imaginable. A few in my car, several placed around my house, and a couple in my purse. I kept the extras on my lampshade next to my bed. I never knew when I might need to read something I couldn't see. About a year ago I decided to look into having Lasik surgery, as this was something on "My Bucket List." Living in St. Louis, there are many options available. I am one who researches and reads every review possible. Brinton Vision won me over by the number of positive reviews and recommendations by others who had an awesome experience at Brinton Vision. I made an appointment and went for a consultation. The front desk staff greeted me warmly and the technician who did my exam was thorough and explained everything to me in a way I could understand. Dr. Poore said I was a candidate for Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE). I was thrilled that I only needed to have this done in one eye. I scheduled my appointment with Dr. Brinton for the following Tuesday. On the day of my surgery, I was a little nervous but was calmed by the caring technicians and Dr. Brinton's explanation of the surgery. The actual procedure only took about 15 minutes and was completely painless. My husband even took me out for breakfast afterwards. I rested at home that afternoon and by the next day I was reading things I never could have without my readers. Dr. Brinton said to avoid wearing readers to allow my brain to adjust to my new lens. It's been almost 3 weeks since surgery and I have not had to use my readers once. I recently went on a trip and was able to read a magazine on the plane, check email on my phone, look at menus and read a book by the pool all without readers! I am amazed and so grateful to Dr. Brinton and the Brinton Vision staff for helping me to see clearly again. read more

I changed my review today from one star to five. I incorrectly felt that their office was only about doing surgical procedures. I was very upset after my first visit a few years ago, then decided to give them a review. I had not contacted them at all about my original feelings and was contacted directly by Dr. Brinton after my review. He could have cared less that I had given them a low rating. He was very concerned about what they had done wrong. We had a long discussion and I went back to the office for another exam. I realize I had been wrong all along. He showed me that I had had a very extensive exam the first time I was in the office. I went in with the notion that I was NOT GOING TO HAVE ANY TYPE OF SURGERY. What I did not know was that I was going to need a surgery down the line as a result of cataract surgery I underwent at another specialist practice. I had been told there was a coating developing on my eye (normal occurrence for some patients after cataract surgery). Since I was so sure I would never need a surgery, I walked away feeling like they had not really done anything for me. When I went back to the office, I was given the same EXTENSIVE, COMPREHENSIVE exam. This exam is like no other and they have machines that most opthalmology practices do not have. I learned that Brinton Vision is a full service practice and not only want to help you IF you do need/want surgery, but also treat all types of eye diseases and want to help the patient make a plan for long lasting eye health. I had been told Dr. Brinton is the best, but it took me a little while to see that (no pun intended). He really cares about his patients and checks up on them to be sure they are not having any problems. If you are looking for the highest quality option for vision surgery in Saint Louis this is likely the place. The policy there is "spare no expense." I underwent corrective SBK Lasik surgery a month ago and I have been seeing better than with my glasses since 15 minutes after the surgery. I would struggle to find a single complaint about my time there. Of course, you are getting what you paid for. Before being selected for surgery I received a battery of tests and a more thorough review than any of the other practices I had referrals to. You will only be recommended surgery if it is right for you; Dr. Brinton is not trying to make ends meet through quantity. The surgery was quick and effective. I went back to my office job an hour after surgery (even though I was expressly told not to), and had absolutely no problems. I experienced mild eye irritation on par with pollen allergies for a few days but this was mostly alleviated with some medicated eye drops provided. If any complications arose or if adjustments were needed then Brinton Vision would have covered it. Throughout the process you will be treated like royalty. Complimentary food and drink, personalized letters, exceptionally friendly staff, a beautiful office, etc. Many of you may be like me and not put much stock in these kinds of frills so let me assure you that they do coincide with the quality of medical care. These surgeries are ideally once in a lifetime; this is one of those times that it is probably worth going with the best on offer. This is where you want to be with your eyes. The experience starts off with a very professional phone operator. He explains the routine, sets up an appointment and, otherwise, makes you feel comfortable. Upon arrival, Leah or Claire welcome you with a menu of snacks and drinks. Please don't get too comfortable as a technician will appear shortly to take you for the exam. This exam isn't like any eye exam you've had in the past. The equipment is very high tech and state of the art. After the exam, Dr. Brinton comes in to explain the options for corrective procedures and suggests you think about the options and call back with any questions. On the day of the corrective procedure, you have another exam and get prepped for Dr. Brinton and his team. If there is any anxiety at all, it will be gone immediately upon having your choice of music turned on and Maile explaining everything. The time flies by and suddenly, you're taken to another room for a post-procedure exam. That's where Elise gets you ready for another doctor to check on you. There is never a time when you wonder what's happening. Everyone in the office is efficient and professional. After getting home that night I got a call from Dr. Brinton just checking on me and gave me his cell phone number in case I became concerned about anything. Are you kidding me? What doctor cares that much about his patients? This doctor and his entire support team dedicate themselves to the wellbeing of everyone coming through the doors. Do yourself a favor and make the call. It will be the best decision you ever made! read more

I have wore glasses for most of my life. My vision has always been an issue. My glasses were heavy and caused pain and sores. I would get headaches daily. The cost was $2K annually and the worst part for me was the time they took away from enjoying my like. Cleaning them, putting them on to read something while a passenger in a car on on a plane while wearing sunglasses or outside at an event. I didn't think anything could help me but my husband found Brinton Vision. I did my research (that's what I do). I checked the computers & I knew I was not going there. I still had my doubts that this would actually work for my bad of vision. Near/Far/Astigmatism I had the trifecta. Brinton Vision explained that RLE would work. I had one eye done at a time. After the first eye I was reading my cell phone without glasses on the same day. I'm ten days after the second eye & I'm told by Dr. Brinton my eye will improve for three months. Took my wife to dr. Brinton at Brinton Vision and he and his staff are the most professional doctors office I have ever been to. The moment you walk in the door, the receptionist makes you feel at home and they immediately put you at ease. The rest of the staff is nothing short of fantastic. The office and the rooms are spotless and decorated very classy and I found out dr. Brintons wife did the decorating and if she isn't a professional decorator she should be. Very classy. My wife had refractive lens exchange replacement and she flew through this with flying colors. Dr. Brinton even calls his patients at their homes to check up on them "not his staff but he calls". They are very informative and keep the patients relaxed and always in the know. My wife had another procedure done at another well known eye doctor who is on tv and radio but Brinton Vision is so far above this other doctor and his staff that I would highly recommend anyone to go to Brinton Vision before you make a decision on your eye surgery. It's your eyes so use the best Dr Available and I'm at. Louis it is Dr Brinton and his staff!!!!. Next year I will be having a procedure on my eyes and Brinton Vision will be my choice, oh and I'm 58 years old and have been to many eye doctors and a few eye surgeons in my life so I know what professionalisms looks like, with outstanding results. read more

Where to start? Glasses for 18 years. From the ocular exam to the post op.....flat out EXCELLENT. From the minute you walk into Dr. Brinton's practice, you will be impressed. The front desk staff, technicians, and every doctor are knowledgeable, thorough, friendly, and professional. After a thorough exam I was declared a great candidate for LASIK, and was recommended the SBK procedure. The procedure was explained to me, and I scheduled SBK that day. The day of my procedure was great. I was prepped, and met with Dr. Brinton. He explained how the procedure would be conducted and what to expect. He ensured all of my questions were answered, and all of my concerns addressed. He talked me through each step of the procedure as it occurred. He followed up later that day with a phone call to see how I felt, and if I had any questions or concerns. I experienced no pain during the procedure, and minor discomfort a few hours after. Which subsided with artificial tears. The next morning (less than 24 hrs post op) my vision tested at 20/10!!!!! DON'T WAIT! GET LASIK!! The results are absolutely incredible. Dr. Brinton is one of THE best. Do your research. You'll find that's a fact. Brinton Vision is top notch. They have changed my life, and I'm so happy and grateful. Dr. Brinton and his team hold you with both hands from the moment you enter their office. I had seen a specialist prior in another state but felt uneasy about the consideration of refractive lens replacement. Dr. Brinton and his patient coordinator Clayton sat with me prior to testing and listened to all of my concerns. They addressed each one specifically and introduced me to all of their state of the art equipment. There is a kindness to this team that lends trust almost immediately. There are a series of thorough tests they perform to get the most accurate view and diagnosis of your ocular health. After all testing was complete, Dr. Brinton went through each exam result to explain exactly the health of my eyes as well as my vision correction needs. To my surprise, he recommended I wait for this procedure because he thought it would bring me the most satisfying results in the long run. This was a relief for me as the specialist I had seen prior to him was in a rush to get me in surgery with very little testing. Dr. Brinton wrote me a new prescription for glasses and I plan to see him this winter to see where we are. When the time does come for corrective surgery, I will 100% have Dr. Brinton do this. About a mouth ago i was shopping around for laslk surgery. I first went to one other eye doctor about laslk surgery they offered free consultation and i was a candidate Woohoo! Well after bombarding them with questions about the risk I only got two answers risks are less than 1% and that halos and glare go way. I did not like that answer and felt like they where not telling be the whole truth. Now back to my experience at Brinton Vision was the opposite. Dr Brinton was willing to answer any question and others at the Vision center where able to answer every question know matter how technical. After a talk with Dr Brinton i was not a candidate for laslk but he offered ICL surgery. I told Dr Brinton that i would think about it and they did not seem too disparate to get me on the operation table. The technician Brian was very helpful by not acting like a sales men and answered questions over email . What i like about Brinton Vision is that i did not have to deal with a sales person. The person selling the product is the serge and the owner. I decided to have the surgery and now i can see 20/20. I have way better vision after the surgery then before. The halos and glare are the only downside but my brain forgets they are there most of the time. read more

Phenomenal doctors and staff. Comfortable waiting area where you are offered beverages while you wait. Appointments stay on time. After an eye evaluation, Dr. Brinton meets with you for an honest discussion of your options and best interests. I chose RLE and couldn't be happier with the results. Honestly, I was really nervous going into the surgery. Kept expecting something very painful to happen which never did. The staff let's you choose the music played in the operating room. I chose Johnny Cash for my first eye and Billie Joel for my second. Surgery takes around 20 minutes. It took about 3 days for my vision to stabilize in my first eye and only 1 day for the second eye. After wearing glasses or contacts since the second grade (50 years) I now have 20-13 vision! I was surprised when Dr. Brinton called me several times at home to check my progress. As a husband and father, my needs always took a second to family. After my wife passed away this year, I decided to do something for me for a change. I am so happy with my decision. I just returned from taking my kids and grandson to the Grand Canyon. Oh, what I was missing with sub-par vision. Highly recommend this place! read more

I am exceptionally happy with the results. The entire staff was very knowledgeable and provided consistent information and reassurance throughout the entire process. Admittedly there are less expensive options however, the professionalism by Dr. Briton and his staff was well worth the differential. Following my procedure Dr. Briton called me to provide me with his contact information over the weekend should I have any issue or complications. Beyond this a few weeks later I received a hand written letter from the office thanking me for trusting them for this process. It is highly unlikely these days to experience this additional attention. At times I felt like thirty most important patient. I cannot recommend them enough and am eternally grateful for the quality of life change that the operation has allowed. No longer do I stumbled over things when waking up first thing not do I ever have to make another contact/glasses purchase again. I would at advise anyone considering this operation to at minimum check them out as the quality and professionalism really encouraged my choice for the procedure. I had the ASA procedure done at the end of April. I was super nervous but at the same time I felt very prepared due to how well Dr. Brinton and his entire staff informed about every detail from the procedure to the four days of recovery. They did not hold back when it came to telling me that I would have pain with the procedure, which I did the day after but only for about 12 hours and thanks to the help of Dr. Brinton calling my pharmacy on his day off, I had some pain medicine. Yes he went above and beyond any of my expectations he called me personally to check on me. I work for a primary care practice and Dr. Brinton and his staff are some of the most caring and compassionate healthcare workers I have come in contact with. I am so glad that I did the procedure no more contacts in the pool for me this summer. I am enjoying being able to wear cute sunglasses and not worrying if my contacts are going to dry out or fall out. I can enjoy my summer. Brinton Vision is an amazing place and I would highly recommend getting lasik there. I had the smile surgery done, and it was the best experience. Upon arriving, you're welcomed by many of the staff members throughout your visits at Brinton. If you're thinking about lasik, and can do smile, that is the way to go. The surgery was easy and painless. I was very relaxed and comfortable. Following the surgery, the healing process did take some time, which is expected. However, day by day my vision improved drastically and now I can see amazing. Much better than I did with contacts. It's amazing to go to bed and wake up seeing clearly. What sets Brinton apart from the rest is the kind staff, professionalism, and Dr. Brinton's knowledge of how to get the best results. Comparing to what my friends said about their surgeries, mine went a lot better and the healing process was a lot easier and quicker. I would attribute that to Dr. Brinton and his amazing staff. I have had glasses since I was 5 years old and got into contacts around the time that I was thirteen. I can honestly say that before my surgery I did not remember what it was like not to have the contacts or glasses. My prescription was -8.00 in one eye and -7.50 in the the other. I had vision ICL and it was probably the best decision I have made. Dr. Brinton corrected my vision better than 20/20 when before I couldn't even see the giant letter at the top of the chart. The best part about Brinton Vision I think is that although they very rarely have issues if they do they make it right. During the surgery on my first eye the numbing wore off and I felt a portion of the surgery. They made changes and ensured that it did not happen in the second. All around I cannot be happier with my results and experience here. If you are in the St. Louis area and are considering Lasik or ICL I suggest you come here and at the very least find out what all of your options are. Dennis Friedman I heard about Brinton Vision thru Bernie Miklasz on his radio show. I have worn glasses for 25 years and have wanted to get rid of them almost since I put them on. I went to see Doctor Brinton, had a thorough eye exam, and sat down with Doc who explained everything to me and his recommendation to fix my eyes. Surgery was scheduled for the following two Fridays(one for each eye) and now I see like I did when I was 20 years old. I have told several people how the procedure compares to going from standard definition tv to high def tv. Everything is so clear and sharp, even sharper than it was with my glasses. I ride a motorcycle and love the freedom of being able to put on a regular pair of sunglasses now instead of all the switching back and forth between regular glasses and prescription sunglasses. St.Louis Lasik, Brinton Vision were absolutely amazing. The quality of care and the offices were just Spectacular! Reminded me of a 6 Golden apple resort vacation as far as the attention given to you as a Patient. I have NEVER had an experience such as this from any Doctor I have been too. After my eye surgery Doctor Brinton took time out of his busy life to Personally check on me the day of surgery and the day after. I NEVER had a Doctor Check up on me, maybe a staff member, never the Doctor. I felt like a Queen and EXTREMELY important; not only to Dr. Brinton, but to his staff as well. My surgery was scary for me, and that was also addressed making sure I had someone there to hold my hand if I needed it. Always reassuring me threw the procedure with positive assurances. I was very nervous and unsure about the entire process. But from walking in the door to my follow up the process has been amazing! The waiting room is very relaxing almost like a spa. The first person you see is one of the ladies sitting at the desk smiling at you and welcoming you. I love the fact they offer you a drink while waiting. The exam rooms are beautiful as is the entire office. The entire staff is friendly and professional. They make you feel comfortable and give you all the information upfront and let you make the decision with no pressure. Dr.Brinton makes you feel very comfortable and reassures you through out the entire surgery which helps a lot! The entire staff made a very nerve wracking experience unbelievably amazing. I would go through the entire procedure again with no doubts if I had to. But to make it all even better my vision is 20/12 now. Which is life changing!
