We came here for Sunday brunch and had the Thai chicken salad as a starter followed by eggy dishes - the English breakfast and the eggs Benedict.
The food was all very flavorful - vegetables were fresh, and the Thai salad was nice and light. The egg dishes were both especially good.
Service was excellent despite a small mistake to our order. When we mentioned it to one of the wait staff (not our waitress) who came by to check on things, he was very apologetic and offered to have the meal prepared again as originally requested (though we didn't take him up on it). Soon after, the waitress came by, also genuinely apologetic about the mix up, and offered us a dessert or coffee on the house, which we were happy to accept.
It is hard to know whether to give the restaurant 3 or 4 stars. There was nothing extraordinary about the meal we had, but to be fair, we did choose two of the most basic things on the menu and they were both done very well. We were very happy with things all around and will be back.
Other comments:
It is nice being next to Wandsworth common - great place for a stroll pre- or post meal. It seems to be a dog-friendly restaurant - we saw a couple people with dogs outside on the patio.
The restaurant wasn't very crowded when we were there. Good alternative perhaps to the Hope, a gastropub down at the other end of the common that can get very crowded on Sundays. read more
