Interviewed a bunch of people. Got a lot of bids... Just about pulled the trigger on vinyl. Ended up with the fine folks at Home Depot. Quality products, lifetime guaranty on materials and workmanship. Big name to stand behind my investment. In the end, I was too snobbish to drape vinyl on my home. Found Elite. Very soft sale from Dave Gile. They do a lot of new construction. They've worked for every large builder in the Salt Lake Valley. Worked with me on design although all I really needed to do was look at one of their catalogs and point to a picture and say, "Make my house look like this one." I'm not too picky except when it comes to women. I had them re-roof. The previous owner had shopped roofers and had given me a name and price expectation. They had to take the roof down to the plywood. Elite came in under what I expected and did a fabulous job! All the vents on the roof were replaced. The re-wrap took some time. Mostly weather delays and I wasn't in any hurry. I made some changes because I didn't like the way the bay window turned out. Chose Hardy Board. The trim was done with a manufactured wood product. The painters were all of three days. Elite wrapped the exterior beams, did a great job with the trim work around the windows and capped the chimney with an aluminum hood. I had them replace or cover soffit and facia. Their metal guy did the work on a fancy home I built in 2002. He's a craftsman! I replaced the rain gutter. It all turned out phenomenal! I worked with their "fix-it" guy. He took care of all of the miscellaneous stuff that I wasn't 100% about. The siding guys had beat up my new shingles when they were doing the upper story. Asphalt shingles tend to become delicate in the middle of the summer. They used four bundles of shingles to replace those that were damaged. I had Elite replace the garage window. Like with anything, communication is essential. In the end, I think I chose the wrong color scheme. I would have liked the field to have better matched the used brick. Entirely my fault. This was a time I could have used some help from someone who knew what they were doing. Elite laid it in my lap which, I suppose, is where the decision for color choice should have been. I'll never make it as a designer. They started mid-spring, finished late summer. I paid them half down, another 25% at one point when they neared completion, the other 25% when they were finished. Had I been in a bigger rush, it would have been completed far sooner. Had I been a squeaky wheel, it would have been finished far sooner. If I'd been a bigger jerk, it would have been completed quickly. 45-60 days maybe? I went into this thinking it would take what it would take. I wanted them to take their time and do a good job rather than rush things and cut corners. The one thing that stands out most about my experience with Elite and the significant investment I've made in my home was Elite wanted my COMPLETE SATISFACTION as much, if not more, as they wanted payment for their services. I really felt that they were going to do whatever they needed to to make certain I was happy with my project. They demonstrated on numerous occasions their willingness to remedy anything that I wasn't happy with. My home looks new. It would fit right in if I lived at Daybreak. I've got a maintenance-free exterior that, aside from some paint in the future, should last another 38 years and beyond. Their craftsmen were craftsmen. I paid less than I could have. I am delighted and would highly recommend Elite Custom Exteriors!

What a great experience, what an incredible outcome. Our floors look better today than the day they…read morewere originally put in 18 years ago. It's difficult to express the pleasure we have with our newly renovated/installed floors by Woody's. We have ~850 Sq Ft of Brazilian Cherry Wood flooring, which after 18 years was certainly worn and tired. We additionally wanted to add ~200 sq ft of additional flooring, woven into the existing floor, to run down our hallway. Another MAJOR desire for us, to try and tone down the red color in the floors. After lots of research, the only way we could find to minimize the red was to either bleach the wood, which sounds like no fun, or go darker with the stain. Going darker wasn't our first choice, but ultimately decided to go that direction. We choose "Antique Brown" stain after being presented with 6 different stain choices and two different sheen options. The Antique Brown was great for us, it wasn't too dark, a nice warm brown that still, in changing lighting throughout the day, very subtlety shows then conceals the red. We also decided to go with a matte finish over the satin. Our previous flooring was high gloss and it showed EVERY SINGLE MARK, especially in our well lit living/dinning/kitchen. . . the Matte is the extreme opposite, but it made the floors look more natural and will hopefully help conceal the wear into the future. As for Woodys. . . The pandemic has thrown a bit of a wrench into some of the process. Their shop is only open and/or returning calls a couple of days of the week because they have been super slow. I kinda get it, but then again, don't. If your business is slow, then wouldn't you be jumping on calls?!? IDK, it was a minor gripe is all. We solicited three specific bids and called five different flooring companies. Nearly every one talked about how slow they were and yet, of the five we called. . . two never got back with us to schedule a quote and the three that did, including Woodys, took weeks from the initial call to actually receiving the quote. Woody's quote was the most expensive. . . by $3. Yup, THREE DOLLARS. The last quote we received came in two days after we had decided on Woody's and while it was $100'ish less, it took them 17 days to get us a quote. What really sealed it for us was Baltazar, the project manager. He was the easiest going of the estimators we met with, was open to trying different things to get us what we wanted. Day one of the refinishing was a bit uncertain due to the lack of communication from the shop, but we ultimately were worried for no reason. Baltazar showed up, with a flooring specialist (aka worker) Monday morning around 9 AM. I never got the worker dude's name, he spoke little English, which made our conversations brief and broken over the course of the week. If I needed to get any thoughts across I was encouraged to reach out to Baltazar who could help with the translation, but we are really easy going and remained confident and trusting of their work. The initial estimate was 4 days to complete, but given the difficulty finding the Brazilian Cherrywood plank sizes, things slowed down on day two, so the project took 5.5 days to complete. As for the effort and quality of the work. . . OH MY HELL! A week later and I am still stunned at the amount of effort that went into these floors. Weaving the new planks into the old flooring alone is spectacular, you would have no idea the floors weren't always in place. The undercutting of the baseboards to avoid having to remove/replace them. The hand carving of plank edges that butt up against tile flooring. Addressing squeaking sections of flooring. Removing and reattaching items like air intake covers and stove securing braces. Ripping out the carpet and laying it up against the new wood. Working from 9 AM to nearly 10 PM on one day. . . It was absolutely astounding the amount of effort that went into these floors. It was worth every single penny. Thank you Woody's, we will forever be thankful and appreciative!

I thought maybe the date was wrong, so I waited a week till the next Wednesday, but no contact. I called back to see what was wrong. The person on the phone was very friendly and professional, apologized, and said she could have a Proj Mgr out that same day. Awesome. She said, "Let me check the schedule and I'll call you back." Never heard from them again. I checked for missed calls and messages, nothing. That was nearly a week ago, and I started to call a third time, but how can I count on them to show up for the work if I can't get them to show up to even try for the job? I can't speak about the qualify of their work because I never got that far, but I've had to move on to another company just to get a quote for the job. I like to leave five-star reviews for those who do work for me, and I'm jealous of the people who got to leave five stars, because I really needed this done and relied on those other reviews as an indication of their quality. It's the first one-star I've ever had to leave, and that star is for the friendliness of the person on the phone. I am disappointed in my experience with Woody's.
