WOW, Brimley Motel Suites, this place is a gem! I rarely give out 5 star ratings on Yelp and save the 5 stars for places that truly deserve it. This motel definitely does and it is very reasonably priced for what it offers.
My GF and I stayed here for one night in the Junior Suite while on a roadtrip tour of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We had the best stay of any place in the UP and we cooked our own dinner and breakfast in the kitchen. I wish I could have stayed here longer!
The location in Brimley is an easy drive from the city of Sault Ste. Marie and many National Forests and Park reserves and other notable areas like Point Iroquois Lighthouse Station, Whitefish Point Maritime Museum, or Tahquamenon Falls. Whether you are coming from the city or want to step back into civilization from a hiking or backpacking trip, this is the place you want to stay, trust me.
This place is amazing, 21st Century place to stay in every way. There is no office, rather you can text or call shortly before you arrive. The motel hosts will meet you there and hand you the key. Check in is between 3-9pm and check out by 11am. The check out procedure is easy, just lock the keys inside the room when you leave.
The Junior Suite is modern, super clean, tastefully furnished and decorated. Even the towels are really nice. The Junior Suite which I stayed in is equipped with a queen bed, a LCD flatscreen TV with cable TV, fast WiFI Internet, a 2 burner glass topped induction stove, microwave, small refrigerator, stainless steel kitchen sink, stylish granite countertops, dishes, pots, pans, plates, utensils, and glasses. The bathroom has a clean shower and a pedestal sink. In addition, there is a small foyer area in the entryway to leave your shoes & luggage. The design of the room really made maximum use out of the 100sq.ft. floor space.
If you have more people or want more room, you can book the Deluxe Suite which sleeps up to 6 and also has a washer & dryer.
Tip: The Sunoco gas station inside the town of Brimley is much cheaper than Sunoco station one a mile to the south along Highway 28. read more
