The interiors of these cabins are very clean and well-kept, with recent renovations. We were very comfortable during our stay here and are looking forward to returning. Bedrooms were a little small, and the mattresses softer than I'd like, but were OK for a week. The bathroom looked recently remodeled. Shower stall was awesome--large, with the nozzle high enough to spray my 6'6" frame without me bending down. That's almost never been the case at a rental cabin. Wifi was generally reliable, but went out several times, usually briefly. The view of course is wonderful. Having Lake Superior right outside your window is reason enough to stay here. Our cabin had all the basics including all kitchen ware, a coffee maker, hair dryer, TV/VCR/DVD player and alarm clocks. Outdoors, our yard included a screened in attached porch, fire pit (wood included), picnic table, chairs and a cafe table and a clothesline. The property sits on the edge of Lake Superior and has private beach access. The beach has beautiful Great Lakes sand and cool, clear water. The beach is lined with adirondack chairs and they have inner tubes for the kids. The owners work hard to maintain their property and therefore can be a bit persnitickity about their cabins and property. Don't be put off; this place is terrific and they are the reason why. Do bring your own marshmallow forks; it's the one thing we didn't find. And, do your grocery shopping before you get to Paradise; the grocery store is a whole different ball game!

We planned a fall camping trip and were driven in by the cold and very windy weather. With a days notice, we found Paradise Inn on-line and reserved a king room on a Thursday night for just under $150. The location is fantastic, 15-minutes from Whitefish Point and Tehquamenon Falls. Our check-in and out were smooth and staff were friendly. The hotel is 2-stories and dates, but very clean. The lobby, hall ways, coffee area and light breakfast room all were comfortable and contemporary. It felt inviting. Our king room was very large with a nice living area, wonderfully large jacuzzi bath and separate living area. There was a mini fridge as well. We spend most of our time away but would have loved to relax more in this room. The only complaint is that the light breakfast was only offered from 7-9 am. We arrived downstairs about 9:45, unaware of the early hours. For vacationers, a little more flexibility would be nice. We also expected to be able to walk to the water as the hotel is on the main road that runs along the water. Unfortunately, there is not public access within 10-miles of the hotel. We went to Whitefish Point, 11-miles north, to walk and watch the sunset and dark skies. We're fortunate enough to witness our first display of northern lights. Amazing! We plan to return. This location is a gem for this area.

We also received exceptional service from our Saturday morning server, Charleine. We ordered off the menu (instead of the buffet). She was thoughtful, cheery, and attentive without being intrusive. Just the traits I truly appreciate in a server. The food itself from breakfast menu was delicious and the servings were ample. Coffee was delicious and I appreciated that they left the pot on the table for me. Pizza we ordered from room service was also tasty. The hotel in general has a swanky feel, and that's not a bad thing. Our room was lovely; very roomy and clean, and our mattress and pillows were SO comfortable! The room itself was very quiet, even though we were near the elevators and ice machine. Now the not so great: The A/C in the room runs very, VERY loud. If you can't handle that when you sleep, then this is not the place for you. Rob was our server on Sunday morning. I'd like to say that we received the same great service, but we did not. He was not at all attentive; he seemed like he didn't want to be there. It took three requests for me to just get a glass of water. We ordered a pizza from room service. We are traveling with our golden retriever. A month ago we booked a presidential suite via the Bonvoy website as we wanted plenty of room. A week prior to our vacation I double checked the reservation and saw the following statement "Please note that not all preferences are guaranteed." Trying to figure out how that applies, we contacted the hotel to speak to someone to confirm our reservation with a pet. We were told that pets are excluded from the presidential suites. Nowhere on the website does it mention that pet are designated to specific rooms only. We ended up booking a smaller 2 room suite with a kitchenette (sink, microwave, small fridge and Kurig k-cup coffeemaker). We arrived late afternoon after traveling for 5hrs. We did bring a few small grocery items that we placed in the fridge. I spent 20 minutes trying to get the coffeemaker to work only to realize that the pump is broken in the machine. No towels to wipe the water up in the kitchen area. No utensils, plates or napkins provided incase you want to heat something in the microwave. In addition, the two room suite that we ended up booking DOES NOT match the photos on their website. The hotel is apparently going through renovations and the images they are showing are the updated rooms (what they WILL look like once renovations are completed). Not cool! We're spending $1200 for 2nights. We've been here an hour and so far I'm not impressed.

It's beautiful, peaceful, and truly in the middle of nowhere. "Resort" is sort of a loose term, as it is essentially four cabins at the end of a small peninsula between Little Lake and Lake Superior. The cabins have gas powered heat, water, and basic electricity but there are no TVs and no great luxuries. The cabins are spacious and comfortable and 3/4 have great views of Little Lake while the 4th is more tucked away in the woods (a short walk to the beach still). I could be biased because I have spent nearly every summer of my life here in addition to fall and winter weekends, but this place is my heaven on earth.
