The owner or employee here is very knowledgeable. They have a good selection. The store is very clean and everything is well marked and visible. I'll be back to this store. It's in a great location with many other stores around.

For a pretty small space, they have a fair selection of any basics you might need. The huge…read morebenefit for me is that they're a 5-minute walk from my apartment, so when I need some alcohol in a pinch, they're my go-to place. You're not likely to find any specialty items here. On my quest for Woodchuck Pumpkin and Woodchuck Fall, they turned up empty. In fact, the only Woodchuck they do carry is Amber and Raspberry (side note: why is it impossible to fund Woodchuck Pear around here?!). I can get my go-ton wine (Sutter Home Moscato) for $5, so I really can't complain. Their beer selection definitely focuses on big-scale domestics, but they have a fair smattering of smaller breweries represented. I've never purchased liquor here, but the selection seems to cover all of the bases. One thing I do like about this place is the staff. They're always very friendly and helpful. On my quest for Woodchuck Fall, one of the workers said he'd make a special order for me and call when it arrives. I'll be sure to let you know if that actually happens. I'm hopeful. (EDIT: I never received a call, and when I stopped in, they told me that their distributor is completely out of the Fall variety. However, they were nice enough to open their Woodchuck variety packs to see if any contained the Fall cider and they did! YAY!) If you find yourself on this side of Kent, it's not a bad choice, but you'll find a much better selection at 101 Bottles down the street.

TLC has a good selection, decent prices and a helpful staff. My only complaint is their acceptable…read moremethods of payment are limited, and it's bet to go with cash only. Otherwise, I've never had a problem finding whatever I need (I typically only go here for liquor purchases).

So I had always thought of Campus Wine Cellar only as a place to buy wine and beer. Well, I was…read moretotally wrong. They have a full bar, an area with plenty of seating and are starting to do all kinds of special events. We stopped by because we saw they had a wine tasting event. It was $10 for 4 wine tastes and an appetizer to pair with each. It was a really good deal, as it was organized well, the pours were generous, and you could get as much food as you wanted. They had little sheets with each wines information, whether it was fruity, earthy, bold or light. I thought that was a great touch. The manager Neil came by and talked to each table, and filled us in on how they're going to start doing $25 sip and paint classes, with a drink included. They are also thinking about doing a trivia night. He was very friendly, and also helpful on the store side with picking out different wines to buy. I also learned tonite that not only do they have a bar, but you can buy bottles of wine or 6/12 packs of beer and drink them anywhere on site. It's a free corkage fee and only $3 for a 6 pack. Their bar also has some pretty good specials. It's away from the hustle, bustle and obnoxious crowds downtown Kent. It's close to campus, but don't be afraid to come here if you're older. It's nothing fancy, but I enjoyed it.
