I immediately picked it up. This is a wonderful cat that likes to be picked up and cuddled. This cat is great with children and seniors. I knew it had to belong to someone. It was starving. Skin and bones. I gave it water and I had a small bag of cat treats.This cat devoured it. I kept it in my one car garage. It seemed very comfortable there. I just did not have anything that a cat needs. I called the police. The cat had a chip but it was not registered. Nobody paid for this apparently. The police officer should have taken this wonderful cat to Orphans of the Storm. Instead I was told to leave the garage door open and it might come back. I could not do that. I started calling shelters. It was Labor Day weekend so I J knew it would be hard to get ahold of someone. I have three cock a poos who like cats but this cat was apparently never with dogs. I called Heartland. Heartland was referred to me from Pers Mart in Northbrook. I talked to the manager and he said this was his go to place to bring animals. I was in shock when I talked to a woman who said because this cat had a chip it would live a few days longer. It would be euthanized. She also told me that they do not take animals from people. This is not a no kill shelter any more so please be ware. In my opinion I would stay away. I immediately called the manager back from Pets Mart and told him what was told to me. I only hope he listens. He was in shock. I hope he will stop bringing animals there. They have changed and it is not a good place any more to bring animals. I did talk to others who used to volunteer there and they told me the same thing. Please stay away and bring any animal to a no kill shelter. Thank you.

We drove about 2.5 hours to pick up our puppy, and from the moment we met Trisha, she was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly patient while I chose the puppy that was right for our family. Before we left, she provided all of Mia's records and even sent us home with a bag of food. On the drive home, Mia vomited, but we assumed it was motion sickness from the long car ride. Over the next several hours, she continued vomiting, developed diarrhea, and stopped eating, drinking, and playing. Concerned, we called the emergency veterinarian. Based on her symptoms, they told us Mia likely had parvo, advised us to stop all food and water immediately, and bring her in if her condition got any worse. Before rushing to the emergency clinic, I called Trisha at 6:00 a.m. She listened carefully and suggested that Mia's blood sugar might be low due to her tiny size. Following Trisha's advice, I gave Mia a small amount of syrup. Within minutes, she perked up and began acting more like herself. Trisha's experience and understanding of her puppies made all the difference. Her guidance not only helped us avoid a costly emergency vet visit but, more importantly, helped keep Mia safe. Had we followed the advice to completely restrict food and water for a puppy weighing less than two pounds, the outcome could have been very different. We are incredibly grateful for Trisha's knowledge, responsiveness, and dedication to her puppies. Thank you, Trisha. One time I was over there, he attacked me for no reason whatsoever and left 8 puncture wounds on the back of my leg. The first cat I bought (littermate of friend's cat) was also extremely mean and had to be rehomed. Cat number 2 is still going, is healthy and lovable and amazing at 11. She came home from Jennifer's cattery extremely sick though with an obviously swollen and oozing eye, and spent her first few days with me in the ER. At her first vet visit, she weighed less than a pound. Jennifer said she was the only kitten in the litter and my vet said that often happens when the mom is bred too young. Cat 3 died of heart failure at 9. Despite having 3 out of 4 of Jennifer's cats not turn out well and the 4th being sick at pickup, I reached back out to her after my boy died. Her response was short and unfriendly and she offered zero information, wouldn't answer when I asked if she was breeding my dead cat's parents still. Then I contacted American Girlz Ragdolls to see what they were like and the woman who responded was patient, kind, warm, informative and responsive. She also extended her condolences about my cat's death; Jennifer didn't utter a word. Is it that hard to say "sorry your cat died", particularly when I paid you a grand for the cat and was expecting more time with him? Also, when I picked up my second cat (sick one), one of the turtles in Jennifer's tank was obviously dead (yikes). When I picked up the 3rd cat, she wasn't even home and I wasn't welcomed in. Her husband met me at the front door, handed the kitten to me, and said goodbye. When I decide to get a new kitten, we are going to American Girlz. They are far and away superior to what Midwest offers based on my experience, the experience of my friend, and the 4 cats we purchased from Midwest. Editing to add: the owner, Jennifer, changed the name of the business, I'm guessing to distance herself from bad word of mouth. This business used to be called Midwest Ragdolls.

I spoke with Jennifer Creed, who seemed quite busy and didn't have much time to discuss details, but I still placed a $250 deposit for a seal bicolor kitten. About a month later, Jennifer sent me pictures of a kitten. When I asked a few simple questions about its traits and appearance, she suggested that I take a seal mitted kitten instead of the seal bicolor I had originally reserved. When I asked whether the kitten would look like the father as an adult, she immediately mentioned refunding my deposit rather than answering. That response made me wonder if a seal bicolor kitten was ever actually available. The quick offer of a refund, along with the limited communication and lack of patience, left a poor impression. Overall, I found the experience unprofessional and disappointing. I truly wanted this to go well, but based on how things were handled, I wouldn't recommend Midwest Ragdoll. Update: i never said i didn't wanted, you were so impatient and rude answering my questions and wanted to refund the amount. I have posted the screenshots our chat on google review, so let the people judge you based on it. Also I was not mean at all and it's your responsibility as a breeder to provide as much information as you can. Better learn customer service first rather just selling.

We had the best experience at Becker Animal Hospital in Northfield, Illinois!…read more My dog, Bodhi, had a dental under anesthesia in March of 2025. In December, our Vet noticed Bodhi needed another teeth cleaning. I didn't want him to receive anesthesia again so soon, especially because his breed is sensitive. I found Becker Animal on an internet search for non-anesthesia dental cleanings; they were highly rated. The ratings are spot on! It was a wonderful experience. Our dog had a temperament evaluation with a vet at Becker first. After, he was able to have a full teeth cleaning without anesthesia. The total cost was $305. Bodhi was wrapped in a blanket and his teeth were cleaned in the technicians lap. It only took about 30 minutes. The treatment included cold laser on his gums to help with swelling and a post-treatment consultation to review his dental hygiene, findings, and optional dental products. We left with a goodie bag including a dental chew, toothpaste and a toothbrush. Before and after pics and Bodhi in goggles for laser treatment. Yes, they even take pictures for you! The office was friendly, helpful, and communicated beautifully. Stacey manages the dental bookings. She is excellent with answering questions and scheduling . A+ experience!

Anne has been very generous with her time and has stayed after to advise us on a couple of issues we were dealing with from our puppy. I like that this club is more focused on precision than other programs we've attended. I'm looking forward to sticking with this club for years and moving up through the levels. If you're looking for a dog training program where anything goes, this might not be for you. But if you're looking for structure and expertise, and your ego can take constructive but direct feedback from experts, you'll love this. It's a great fit for me.
