Yes, they offer morphine, but I am a Social Worker and morphine doesn't kill you unless you are given an overdose specifically and on purpose. I work with Geriatric patients at the hospital and there are people on morphine for years. I have personally worked with people who were considered end of life who were given morphine for up to a year and didn't pass. Tidewell makes people comfortable so that they don't have to feel the pain of having their bodies shut down. It is extremely painful to die slowly. I do think these people understand what they are seeing. There is so much disinformation in the media.

When I tell you they take care of everything they do, including the family. The representative Kathy, at Sarasota Memorial handled the transportation and even contacted the Red Cross to assist my nephew, who is in the Navy, get home on leave. (His commanding officer told him he has never seen an emergency leave be done so fast and so organized). Tidewell took care of getting a hospital bed for us and all the things we need to make sure Dad is comfortable and free from pain. Melinda, his nurse is available 24/7 by phone and is a great liaison for us to the Dr. When we need medication it is delivered within 24 hours by Fedex. Then there is Rosa Hayes, our CNA, she comes 5 days a week. Rosa has become part of our family. She is so kind and gentle with Dad. She makes sure he is comfortable and clean and is so friendly and kind to us. She is so wonderful and it is obvious she loves her job. I just can't begin to give her enough praise. Tidewell even arranged to have a volunteer to sit with Dad for a couple of hours so we could go out for a little outing. Thank you so much Tidewell by making a stressful situation a little easier.

We were educated about community resources for services and suppliers. Wil has arranged competent and caring in-home care givers for our friends. After doing my research, I decided on AdviniaCare and the facility over exceeded my expectations in every way. I go to see my mom at least twice a week and I see how she improves physically and mentally each time. This is a real-time testament. The staffs focus on patient care, and their individual needs are stellar. The staff is very experienced in caring for seniors and they take it a step further by getting to know their residents and patients personally which does wonder for seniors in particular. The rehabilitation program and physical therapist fall into a top category also. The entertainment and social activities and the people who run them play a big part in keeping my mother's spirits uplifted and she looks forward to something every day. Everyone goes the extra mile for her to ensure she is included since she is blind. She loves the food, and the room is always clean. The place has great energy. The facility nurses, doctors, aides, rehab center therapist social workers, and administration are always ahead of the game with keeping me informed on my mother's health, needs, appointments. The nurses were compassionate and explained what they were doing and what to expect. The facility was painted a pale yellow and was very peaceful and restful. You felt at peace in the hospice building. My husband has been gone a week and hospice called and ask if there was anything they could do and said they would call again in three weeks. I firmly believe had we stayed with pinnacle home health she would still be here. Pinnacles goal was to get her better and it was working. Joined Tidewell and gone in 2 months. They didn't DO anything to cause her illness but they didn't do anything to get her better either. Don't do it unless your parent is legitimately close to death. Mine wasn't when pinnacle had her.
