Why 5 stars? Because we all enjoyed our time here…read more --- --- --- Our son is several levels outside of what you'd call normal. We discovered pretty early on that he had some developmental issues and needed speech and occupational therapy. We ended up coming to Riggs for a nearly 18 months and our son really loved it. He would routinely ask to go to therapy all throughout the week, even though our appointments were only on Wednesday's. The therapists really connected with him and gave us some good tips on how to best work on things at home. Ultimately, he was discharged from speech therapy first. We stuck around a for a few months and continued to do OT. The only thing we didn't love about our experience is that there were several issues with billing throughout our time coming here. Part of that falls on the insurance company for being so confusing with the way they label certain services, but I lost track of how many times we would receive pretty substantial bills in the mail because we had been under-paying. And this would happen even after we were re-assured that the billing situation was *definitely* under control. The truth is, we would do it all over again if we took a time machine back to when we first moved to the area. But if you asked me to prove that therapy was absolutely the reason his speech improved, I really couldn't say for certain. Maybe he just got older and more mature, naturally. Or maybe speech therapy was the main driver in everything. I really don't know. But as parents, you'd rather exhaust all of your options, rather than passively do nothing. And we're glad we chose Riggs for this very important need. Probably the best part about the experience were the therapists providing us with tips on what to work on at home. These were usually great tips and things we never would have thought about otherwise. I'd definitely recommend trying Riggs out if your kiddo could use help in these areas.

I just can't say enough good things about this place. Last week I had an appointment with…read moreBrookelynn, it was my first appointment with someone other than Amy. Brookelynn was awesome! I felt comfortable with her right away. Amy promised that she would leave really good notes so that Brookelynn would be able to pick up right where we left off and she made good on her promise! Also Amy has kept me very informed on what my goals are which is very helpful. She regularly goes through my record with me and we talk about it which is so helpful as a patient. It makes me feel like we are a team. My first appointment I told her I had a hard time explaining my symptoms to the doctor because I didn't know much about hip anatomy and how to describe symptoms having to do with the hip. She has listened to what I am saying and looked it up and helped me to find the more common terms for what I am trying to describe. I also like that if I have a question about something, no matter what it is Amy finds an answer for me before I leave. And not just questions necessarily but also any concerns. Yesterday I had some questions about some things my PCP had said and I had concerns that the insurance was going to stop my physical therapy, and she asked Ashika the physical therapist for clarification. Ashika took the time to come in and talk to me personally and also she did some testing and recommended some new exercises. I love believe therapies. They really make me feel like I'm not alone, and I'm being heard. Finally!

The whole practice/ building/ physicians/ staff I would not…read morerecommend Cornerstone Specialty Hospital under any circumstances. My experience was extremely disappointing and concerning. There was a clear lack of communication among staff--it often felt like no one knew what the other was doing, which created confusion and inconsistency in care. The quality of patient care was not what it should be. If you are not constantly there advocating for your loved one, it feels like little to nothing gets done. Even with strong and consistent advocacy, there were still serious gaps in attention and follow-through. My son left there with a skin infection because they did not clean him well. I was also very concerned with Tricia Punsalan the physician's professionalism. Communication often felt dismissive and condescending, as if I were being spoken to like a child rather than a family member trying to understand care decisions. There also seemed to be an over-reliance on sedative medications, which raised concerns about patients being kept overly medicated rather than supported in making progress toward recovery. Question, why would we take a patient to therapy down a hallway into a room where they are only in their gown and they're back end can hang out. They had no concern with decency trying to get this patient dressed ever. The cleanliness of the facility was unacceptable. There was visible hair on the floors, bugs on the windowsills, and even dead bugs inside light fixtures. The walls had holes that were poorly patched, giving the space a neglected and unmaintained appearance. There was also trash in and underneath the recliner, which should never happen in a healthcare setting. Additionally, the environment among the staff seemed tense and uncoordinated. It did not come across as a team that enjoys their work or is committed to providing compassionate, attentive care to patients. Overall, this was a very negative experience, and I would strongly caution others before choosing this facility. I would not send the Devil to this place
