In my opinion Brighton Electric is the best rehearsal studio in Brighton. With such a wide selection of gear it's perfectly feasible for you to try any number of different amps in a single session. This large selection of gear combined with competitive prices, professionally maintained rooms and unrivalled selection of refreshments makes Brighton Electric a clear winner for me. Also, the rooms are tastefully decorated making them a welcoming environment for creative people. As the recording studios have recently undergone much renovation, the standard of the entire complex has just moved up a notch. Having played in sessions for many local bands I can vouch for the supreme quality of sound that's easily achievable in either studio. The first-class quality of Brighton Electric is exemplified by the sheer amount of top names that have previously worked there. These include The Cure, British Sea Power, The Noisettes, The GO! Team, The Kooks, The Maccabees, Blood Red Shoes and Johnny Truant to name but a few. With a toasty maker and sheltered outdoor section there really isn't a studio in Brighton that comes close! read more

Out of all the rehearsal studios in Brighton, Brighton Electric is undoubtedly the best. Friendly and knowledgable staff, coupled with a wide range of rehearsals rooms to choose from that are fully equipped, make Electric the preferred rehearsal space in town. As a vocalist, I like to use my own microphone, but on the occasions where I forget, the staff spray their own mics with a special mic disinfectant before each use, which puts my mind at ease about all those icky germs! Considering the sizes of the rooms available and the quality of equipment, the rates are excellent. There is also a seating/cafe area where you can buy hot drinks, Bagelman bagels and other snacks. There is also a small kitchen area for your to make your own tea/coffee if you wish, and cups, instant coffee/tea are provided. There are a lot of rehearsal studios in Brighton, but electric is always my first choice. read more

Absolutely the best place in town for music, rehearsal, recording and even a great cup of coffee! I think the staff are just brilliant, the other musical people who hang out & work here are all humble, hard working musical types and taking a walk around the corridors can reveal all sorts of musical talent. A real artistic hub, with high-ceilinged rooms - none of the dingy grey carpet rehearsal rooms here! Windows are in many rooms and delicious bagels & pastries for when you feel hungry. Did I mention food/cafe twice in one review?! :-) In the summer there is a nice outdoor area around the back & plenty of sunshine to take a little break after working hard on your set. I chose to teach singing here as you just cannot get better in Brighton for music! read more

Brighton Electric is in my opinion the most upmarket rehearsal studio in Brighton. Yet somehow this isn't reflected in the pricing. I've rehearsed there and recorded there and always been pleased with my experience. There are six rehearsal rooms differing in size from cosy cupboard type rooms to rooms with enough space to hold a small showcase or really hone your live performance in. The architecture is stunning too, its location just in front of the Brighton and Hove Bus depot hints as its heritage as the head office for the network of trams that used to serve Brighton. The equipment in Brighton Electric is all well maintained and the selection of amps is wide enough to accommodate all manner of projects and sounds while the staff is always on hand to help if you get in a muddle with setting anything (like the PAs) up. The rooms are all spotlessly clean and air conditioned in summer which tends to be good news for the drummers among us. Like many of their competitors in and around Brighton they have a shop selling all the essentials but one thing they definitely have over most other studios is the full and clean kitchens where you can prepare a little more than the normal chipped mug of instant coffee. Even their website is well laid out and has a section where anyone from further afield can have arrangements made for their accommodation. All in this is the definitive example of a smooth, elegant well run professional recording/rehearsal space and I strongly recommend it to any group of working musicians or managers looking for a place to cut a high quality demo to throw at A and R reps. read more

As the most well used and well-regarded studio in town, Brighton Electric is arguably the best place for any band to rehearse or record in this fair city. The massive selection of gear means that whatever your style you're likely to find your desired sound and due to decent upkeep you'll be guaranteed to get fully functioning equipment. Unlike many other rehearsal studios they sell a range of sandwiches, hot and cold refreshments and plenty of essentials like guitar strings and tuners. Having undergone a recent overhaul the whole place has moved up to a notch that few other places can compete with. As previous artists to record here include The Cure, British Sea Power, The Noisettes, The GO! Hands down the best place in town. So much choice of equipment it's mind boggling. Pretty much anything you might need is either sold or can be hired from the front desk (including nifty cd recording devices for demoing your rehearsals - only £3 for the session) The place is as clean as a whistle and so chilled out - the guys behind the counter are as nice as you'd want them and unbelievably helpful - if a slot you want is booked, they'll take your number and phone back if there's a cancellation. I can't recommend this place enough. Great for most types of music. Hope this place just keeps doing what it's doing now for a long time to come. read more
