She is gentle, kind, positive, and very effective at what she does. She truly represents the word "healing." However, I felt I needed to share an experience that really affected someone very dear to me, Maria. She suffered a stroke and has very limited movement on her left side. We understand the reality of her condition, and we know that she may never regain 100% of her movement. But we continue with therapy because we have seen small improvements, and most importantly, we continue to have faith and hope. At a recent appointment, Maria saw a different therapist named Lauren. From what Maria shared with me afterward, she was told that if there is no movement, there really isn't much point in continuing. I was not present during the appointment, so I can only speak from what Maria told me and the effect those words had on her. The following day, I found Maria extremely discouraged and in a very depressive mood. It broke my heart because I saw how deeply that conversation affected her, and that discouragement stayed with her throughout the week. I completely understand that therapists have to be realistic with patients and families. But I also believe that when you work with people who are already facing life-changing circumstances, the way something is communicated matters tremendously. There is a difference between giving someone realistic expectations and making them feel as though there is no reason to keep trying. Perhaps certain conversations could be approached more sensitively or discussed with the family first. Sometimes hope is part of healing too. Even if the improvement is small, that hope can be what motivates someone to get up and keep trying another day. I'm sharing this not to attack anyone, but because I would never want another patient to leave therapy feeling defeated or without hope. Healing should care for the person emotionally as well as physically, and I truly hope this experience can be taken as an opportunity for greater compassion and sensitivity.

I'm waiting for Insurance ,they said if I didn't show in my appointment they are going to charge me $50 then I asked them why you are not calling me or you're not texting me for my Appointment ,one day before they say , We are going to charge if we do ,but for you this time no charge . She gave me some exercise Picture on a paper that I have to do at home I said I'm coming here for one hour. How come you don't practice with me she says no you have to do at home. How come you don't practice with me here if she says no, you have to do at home, Then she put half inch tape to my hand, which is ripped after one hour, and when I went there second time I ask her at least wrap the tape around my hand properly ,I can do that at home ,she wrapped the cheap carelessly and said ((next time I will charge you 10$ )) after30 Minute the tape ripped I had a picture. I stop Going there and I cancel all my appointment and I'm going to call my insurance Medicare and said all the stores, some old people goes there and they charge the insurance like they charge my insurance they make money from insurance and they sell that stuff, I am going to write all this on Yelp too .

I hate to leave a one star because my son has received services from this agency before for PT. I…read moredecided to bring him back because our experience was great with a different therapist. We met with Dennis. My son is a 5 year (almost 6 year old child) primarily none speaking boy who has Autism. Dennis probably has seen my son about 5-6 sessions and sometimes, (not always) my son has difficulty in engaging, however does at least one exercise. He is only there for 25mins with authorization, and I informed Dennis I will get another authorization but provide effective treatment and meet my son where he is at. Biggest problem are the toys that are visible and out. My son also has low muscle tone and gets easily tired, which has been told to me by other professionals. Today during Leo's session in the new office (third time in the Woodland Hills office/initial assessment and two sessions including today) Dennis was unprofessional and unethical. He laughed at my face in front of at least 3 people. Instead of focusing on my child's needs he was more focused on what I'm doing for my child and how I don't discipline him. My son sees about over 7 other external therapists for different services during the week and each provides effective and ethical service/sessions. In the Sherman Oaks office we have always arrived early and he had a client and had us wait 2X when it was my son's time, and I never said anything. Today I left the office having anxiety and shaking. I told the front desk girl to have the office manager call me and another staff was able to reduce my anxiety so I can safely drive myself and my son to his next therapy. I contacted the licensing board too because I don't ever want another child with Autism to be treated in such a way. I will be waiting to hear back from the management to understand what steps will be taken. All of my son's therapists are supporting, caring, loving, respectful, ethical, and have good therapeutic boundaries, and those are the only people I want on my son's team. Again this is not about the agency. Even the lady who completed my son's initial assessment was so respectful and caring towards my son. His previous therapist Trisha was amazing too. This review is for Dennis. I hope in the future he will do a better job in consulting with his supervisor , asking for guidance in how to work well with a client he is struggling with, hold strong therapeutic boundaries, and practice ethically.

My son has been receiving services from CBC for close to 2 years. We started at about 30 hours a…read moreweek and are now at about 8 hours per week. This treatment, along with speech and occupational therapy, my son (now 6.5) is a cooperative, kind and safer kid. He used to run away when at grocery stores/Target, throw 2+ hour tantrums when he was not aloud to push the button on a elevator or car door or comply with parental direction. I know every autistic kid is different, but this made a HUGE difference in his life and our family life. Less anxiety for mom and dad when going on outings, able to attend parties with out being concerned about issues with sharing toys or play equipment and he is able to transition between prefered and non prefered activities (e.g., homework). I have heard horror stories about other ABA providers. That the therapist are glorified babysitters. CBC supervisors and therapist truely care about the kids. They develop the program goals with parents to address the individual concerns which can be executed both when the therapist is there or just for parents to execute. For instance, my son was always throwing a 2+ hour tantrum when he was not allowed to press the garage door button (to open or close it). The Supervisor, Christina, worked with me to develop a program with colored cards (green= he could push it, red= someone else would push it). It too 6 months for him to master the program. Now, he doesn't give it a second thought whuch means I don't have to plan to have a big ordeal just to get in the car or in the house. I do not hesitate, ever, to recommend CBC to other parents who are struggling and need help that works from a reputable and caring team of providers.

At times I'd see different members of the team but they all worked as a unit, so that it really didn't matter that I saw a different therapist than the week prior. All of the therapists there were very attentive and offered several modes of therapy, and communication was robust. Each session was non-rushed, calm, and very well-spent. I never wanted to leave! I felt very well taken care of. The team is awesome!
