This is the first "daycare" my child has ever been to in his life and he started at 2 and a half…read more I've been able to keep him home with me since he was a newborn since I work remotely and have had family help throughout my work days. But now that he's getting older, he needs more stimulation and more activities and more interaction than just being at home with family. So I decided to put him here, part-time. He goes here two days a week And this child development center has been a game changer for him. His speech is getting better, he's learning new words and phrases, and he loves all of the activities and playtime that is scheduled every day that he gets. This place is a little pricey, as it is almost $900 for two days a week, but I can walk there from my house, which is very convenient and he's not even a mile away from me while I'm working, which is important to me. So if there's an emergency, any flooding anything that would make me nervous about him being away from me, I can literally get to him very quickly and pick him up. This place is very much recommended as they are very secure, there is a code you must enter to open the door and they have armed police officers on the property for pick up and drop off. The teachers are very sweet and all of the administrative staff seem to know every child and parent by name. Highly recommended if you are willing to pay for the extra amenities. Oh, and I almost forgot, one of the best things that they have is an actual app where they send a push notifications when their diaper is changed, when they eat and what they eat, and when they take a nap. So you're able to see what your child is doing while you're away.!! And at the end of the day, they give you a detailed report of what activities they did and how they contribute to their developmental progress AND they add pictures of your child doing the activity!!

Check-in is quick and easy via computer at the front door, security is tight - there are security officers at the entrance to the parking lot and entering the facility required a code entered into a keypad. The classrooms are well kept up, clean and picked up at the end of each day. I found the teachers to be warm, excited to see the children, and willing to give extra attention when needed. One of the things I really liked was the app they used to post updates throughout the day - meals, diapers, naps and pictures were posted to keep you updated on what your child was doing every day as well as provide drop-off and pick up alerts. In her 6 months there her vocabulary grew immensely, she started learning letters, counting, colors and animals. I felt they were teaching her and not just watching her while I worked.

They have a nice little cozy breastfeeding room for me to use when I come. Playgrounds for the teeny tots on up to the 4 year olds. Although, we don't have access to them all the time (I'd like to), there are cameras everywhere so if you need to see something you can. The app they use makes communication easy throughout the day. This is a Tulane University daycare but there are spots available to the community. Get on the waitlist early, like in pregnancy if possible! Newcomb has been open since 1926 and their commitment to your kids has quite a history. It's a "Class A" daycare. Parents are very hand's on. Teachers are sweet and caring. Ms. Deidre rode with my son to Children's Hospital in an ambulance when he had a febrile seizure at school. I rushed to the ER to find them being rolled in, Deidre sitting on the gurney holding my poor sick baby. Will never forget that act of kindness! It really is a second family/home for your kid. Buggy rides, water play, Ms. Karen's cooking....! The list goes on and on! Highly recommend!

I am so happy my daughter got a chance for a spot at NCC when she turned 2 years old and had issues at another place we went to before NCC. People who work here are selfless and hard working people keeping this place running and doing so with so much love and professionalism. Since day one they made my baby and (what is very important) me feel secure and safe. They have activities scheduled for kids for every hour of the day. They learn so much while they play! Ms. Debbie is amazing as well as ms. Julie and all other teachers and staff. Ms. Debbie knows all the kids by name, very attentive to each and every person who step into the building. My baby's development went up as soon as she started going to NcC. She loves going there and doesn't want to leave...if you would know the situation we were with our old daycare you would understand how big of a difference it makes. I can go work without feeling scared for her well being or guilty for leaving at place she doesn't like. My daughter adores her new school and we couldn't be happier she is there. I wish she could stay there until she is 7 yo! They always clean the spaces, beds, sheets and toys, especially when there has been virus going around. Communication between teachers, staff and parents are excellent as well. Lots of projects and events during school year. I wish to find similar place when we have to leave NCC.

They supposedly have working cameras so that mean the whole ordeal should have been caught on camera right ! ? But little did they know. . . ! They lied, berated, exaggerated! To no return!! If they would lie for this what else would they lie about!? They will be doing psych evaluations by the time I'm finished with them! They have no business running a daycare or taking care of children!!
