Weddings are one of the most joyous times in a person's life, and the setting and atmosphere of your wedding is incredibly important. Everything has to be in place, timely, flexible to change, and cohesive. With Jakub from Bright Light Entertainment, that was certainly the case. He showed up and had everything set up, well before any guest arrived, and was quick to greet my partner and I, at the appropriate time. Jakub's part in our day came later in the evening, during introductions, dinner, and the reception. Everything was perfect. The correct music was played, it was on time, it was very clear, the audio was evenly balanced, and his voice was very professional. We didn't get around to telling Jakub what we wanted to hear or what music we wanted to play, until we met him for the first time, the day of the wedding. I can be a difficult person to please musically, and I couldn't have chosen better music myself. He definitely had a finger on the pulse of his audience and played accordingly. My partner and I, and our small wedding party, all listen to a wide range of music, and every time I looked around the room, the only reason I saw someone away from the dance floor was for a break from dancing. Even Jakub seemed to really enjoy himself. We made two requests, no music from one particular artist, and that Bohemian Rhapsody has to be played. Jakub smiled and obliged, then sang every word, like he was on the dance floor with us! I would highly recommend Jakub for any wedding or event. He's professional, has a clean look and set up, and put on a great time. Someone once told me that it's the music, food, and atmosphere that people remember the most, I now wholeheartedly agree. Our wedding was October of this year (2020) so as you know Covid was still in full force. We hired a DJ before Covid and about 3 months before the big day our prior DJ canceled on us because they would not work unless a vaccine came out. My fiancé and I scrambled to find someone who would be able to DJ our venue. We found Jakub and Bright Light Entertainment and he saved us. He didn't have any one to work our wedding date so he personally came and worked our wedding. Jakub never knew our venue but worked it like he has been there a million times. We asked for our wedding to be a full on dance party and he delivered. We had everyone on the dance floor the entire time. He played all the music we requested and read the room perfectly. He was able to accommodate us with lapel mic's for our ceremony and brought numerous other professional DJ/Equipment items. We could not have asked for a better DJ. Family members, friends, and even other vendors were blown away by the job he did. We chose Bright Light for our wedding celebration. Jakub was a pleasure to work with in every way. He got a real sense of who we were and what we were looking for in our initial phone conversation and that carried through all our interactions. He suggested using a Spotify playlist - what a great idea! We kept posting songs to it as we came across them, giving him a bigger and better picture of the kind of music we wanted. Jakub was always responsive to questions and ideas. We worked together on the pre-ceremony music, as well as cocktail hour and dinner background ambiance. He emceed our toasts during dessert, as well as introducing our short live set (my husband's daughter is a professional jazz pianist who accompanied two dear friends in a few songs). And the rest of the evening was a flow of the dance music we wanted. Never was the dance floor empty. We would recommend Jakub to anyone. Professional, easy-going, competent and fun. We asked Bright Light to DJ for our wedding in Asheville in August, 2017. We were paired with DJ Sam. We could not have asked for a better experience. Bright Light did a great job of taking our tastes into account, communicating with us several times before the event about what styles of music and specific songs we did and did not want played. DJ Sam mixed together some of our specific suggestions as well as other dance favorites from his library in order to keep everyone on the dance floor. One thing in particular that I appreciated was the appropriate VOLUME of the music - loud enough to fill our space and rock it out, but not so loud that your ears are hurting or you have to scream into the ear of the person next to you. Bright light was easy to work with throughout and was able to accommodate some specific needs for our wedding, such as operating off of generator power and supplying microphones for our guests to use for toasts. Jakub was all we dreamed of and more! Pre-wedding he was so professional and very timely in his responses to our endless questions. He sent us a ridiculously detailed questionnaire to fill out to make sure we had thought of everything music related. It was so helpful when figuring out how we wanted the day to go (music-wise!) and what sort of vibe we wanted during the cocktail hour versus dinner, etc.. He was super flexible in letting us make decisions up to the last minute and was very helpful in giving recommendations. Night-of Jakub was a dream come true! He honestly started the dance party with his enthusiasm and own enjoyment of what he was doing. We have had numerous people approach us since our wedding telling us how fun he was to watch and how into the music he seemed to be - he really made everyone want to get up and dance! Jakub DJed at our wedding and had our dance floor packed the WHOLE night! He's a really nice guy to work with and was a perfect emcee for our big day. His song selection was great and had people- old and young - up and dancing throughout the evening. The gear he brought was first rate and sound quality was amazing. He also miced our ceremony (which was outside) and everything went off without a hitch. We also had a friend perform a song towards the end of our reception and Jakub accommodated her with all of the equipment she needed. Bright Light Entertainment did an excellent job for our wedding. They were able to accommodate multiple requests, which included extra microphones and stereo equipment for singers and musicians. They also had different areas set up for music, including the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. The music selection was excellent. We were able to choose our favorite songs, which we heard, loved, and appreciated. The best part about the night was how Jakub could feel the crowd and keep the party going! What can I say about Jakub? I hired him to handle all things music at my wedding. From the initial conversation to the actual ceremony, he did an amazing job. You know that he did his job well when the groom remembers him so clearly. He walked in dressed to impress (but not to outshine me), stealthily made the speakers do their thing, and when the dancing started, the coat came off and the music started pumping. Choosing Jakub as our D.J. was arguably one of the best decisions we made in planning our Wedding. He was amazing. Not only was he friendly, fun, and outgoing, but he was able to figure out exactly what we envisioned for our Wedding with very little to go on.
