I switched here from a previous pediatrician and WOW, what a great place. My son sees Dr. Umang…read moreSood. She is extremely helpful, down to earth, and friendly. We left my former pediatrician's office due to a lack of willingness to help get my son referred to PT for torticollis. I switched to Dr. Sood and told her the situation and SHE made the phone call to insurance herself. Yes- you read that right. The doctor herself made the phone call. Her exact words were, "It sounds like you've been through enough. Why don't you let us take that off your hands." They also have a text line where you can text questions 8am-8pm. I did this and had a response within 5 minutes. I highly recommend this place!

I worked here for 6-7 years and I know that Dr. Alka Sood and Dr Sanjiv Sood are great doctors…read morethat truly care for their patients. I'm not sure if nurse practitioner Lisa R. Is still working here, but she was/is great with all of her patients as well. I loved working here, due to the wonderful staff and the way the Soods would try to be fair and just. They offered great incentives to their faithful employees. Sometimes I truly miss working with the Sood's. I left around January 14th 2015. So I've been gone quite some time. But from my experience working with these great people, if you are looking for a new pediatrician and can get an appointment I would take it. They'll make sure your children are well taken care of. I hope this helps someone that is trying to find a new pediatrician.

First, let me start this by saying that Dr. Raley is great! This review is in no way a reflection…read moreof him as a pediatrician, which I why I gave 3 stars. I had a great experience with Dr. Raley, the man who works the front desk, and the nurse who comes in to do measurements at your appointments! Dr. Raley always did an awesome job listening to my concerns and taking me seriously. I'm an IVF mama who went through years of infertility to finally get our precious son, so I'm aware that I can seem more urgent than other mamas out there. They've recently switched to a system where there's no phone number to speak with anyone at the office. Instead you just chat via an online portal. The reason we left Avalon Park Pediatrics is because of my experience with one of the nurses there who handled my son's physical therapy referral process and the lack of care I received from her. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Raley to get his opinion on whether he thought my son had torticollis and plagiocephaly, and he agreed with me that he did and we could start PT sooner rather than later. His office put in a referral to insurance very promptly. First, the referral was sent to a place that doesn't accept my insurance. No biggie- let's try again. Then, my son was referred to yet another place that didn't take my insurance (which I didn't find out about until about a week later). This process pushed getting him sent to PT. Finally the referral was received and I received the phone call from a PT place trying to schedule his appointment. The PT place only had one appointment in the entire month of December. If he couldn't be seen at that appointment he would have to wait to be evaluated on January 20, which would put his treatment beginning in February. I started this referral process the week before Thanksgiving when my son was 2 months old, and if he couldn't make the December appointment he wouldn't be able to seen until he was FOUR months old. We all know that newborns are constantly changing, and the PT place and I both agreed that it would be awesome if Dr. Raley's office would call insurance and ask them to expedite the approval process so he could be seen for the December appointment. I was told this could be done from the PT facility AND my insurance told me this could be done. Not only did they say this could be done but they gave me a number they could call. I relayed this message to Dr. Raley's office and I asked if I could speak to someone on the phone since it would be easier to explain. Dr. Raley asked if we could communicate via the Klara online platform since their office was busy. I said of course- since I assumed his office was getting bombarded with sick little ones during flu season. So I relayed the message via the portal and I was met with a cold "nothing else we can do at this time" I thought hm- that's weird. So I explained one more time that both PT and insurance both said that there was in fact something they could do, and here's the number. This time I was met by the same nurse sending me a quick reply saying, "sorry. they would only approve the therapy for Saint Francis" followed by a rogue phone number. No explanation, no courtesy of giving me a phone call to fill me in. Nothing. So then I call my insurance and insurance tells me that the PT office was approved. At the same time the Pt office is calling me telling me that my son's evaluation was also approved and we could get started. I thought well this is weird- why is Dr. Raley's office saying they're not approved but insurance and the PT place are saying they are. So then I message BACK on the Klara portal stating that both places said he was approved and I received the reply that "TherapyWorks was not in network. You'll have to take it up with them." Again- where's the concern or care? I certainly got the feeling of "not my child- not my problem" I spent the next 48 hours on the phone with the PT facility, insurance, and Dr. Raley's office but I couldn't get the nurse to take time to actually speak with me over the phone so we could sort it all out. Long story long- TherapyWorks was NEVER in my network to begin with, and insurance was going to approve them if the referring physician contested the opinion and said they wanted him to be seen by TherapyWorks. All of this could have been avoided if we were referred to a place that was actually in network, if someone took the time to actually speak with me, and if our situation was treated as if it was personal instead of just another referral ticket. ***the rest of the review is in the photos since it's too long for Yelp***
