Props to the other company for the excellent recommendation! While Abbey was booked for delivery, they had the items we needed and we able to pick them up. From the moment I drove up to the moment I drove away after dropping everything off the following Monday (Fri-Mon rental) I couldn't have been more pleased. First of all this place is huge (to me) and from the first employee that waved me into the pick-up area to every employee that I ran into (~5-6) they were helpful in navigating to the office, explaining things, and I think they genuinely appreciated the awe in my face as I walked through the warehouse to the office. If you've never been it's absolutely amazing the work that goes on behind the scenes of a rental company that you would never know if you had items delivered. With paperwork completed in the office two guys loaded what I thought for sure would be 2 loads (30 min drive each way) into a single load in my SUV, complete with the load tied down (with their rope... which I was reminded to return. :) ). I waited to write the review until I returned the items to see if the return was as great as the pickup, and it was. They were not as busy so one employee unloaded the entire load, complemented me on the loading and securing the load. I had to tell him I took pictures when I got home so I could do it exactly the same and he started laughing and knew exactly who loaded/tied it down (said "he's the master" and thanked me for returning the rope). The initial work to set things up with Eilias was very efficient and helpful. Again, couldn't have been more pleased. My only tip was that while they have a HUGE selection of linens (that I was able to see in their showroom) we only needed basic black. The linens were a bit pricey so we opted to purchase them at about 1/2 the rental cost and that saved us considerable money. We will use both the linens, and Abbey Party Rentals again . . . thank you for your exceptional help and service with such a small order! It made me feel important regardless of order size!

I would assume he is one of the owners. Let's start by the fact he actually answers the phone!!! That is a plus already, considering some vendors only communicate via text. I am looking forward to use this business. 6 stars!

They arrived on time and completed set-up by the agreed upon window for our order of 6 banquet tables and 50 chairs. I worked with Jen via e-mail and Chris on the day of the event, and they communicated consistently throughout the process. Our venue was a permitted event at Balboa Park, which can be a tricky delivery, but Chris was great at calmly figuring it out. Pricing was also reasonable after shopping around. Lastly, this company is local and family-owned and operated, which was a plus for us. I opted to save on the same-day delivery charges, and have them drop off the linens to me on Thursday and pick up the next Tuesday. Drop off and pick up went so smoothly, and the linens were packaged and labeled by size. SD Linens also had the best price for renting I could find anywhere. It's unfortunate I have to write this review. I've used SD linens a total of 3 times now, and my…read morethird time was my last ever. I booked them for my wedding in 2014, and they did a great job. I booked them for an Easter party this year, smooth sailing. I booked them again for another party this year, complete shit. They are so "strict" with making sure you have 3 hour open time window, or else they charge you more if you want it at an exact time. Anyway, we had a drop off time for our tables/chairs/linens between 9-12. My party started at 1pm. 1230 rolls around, I'm starting to panic and call the number. It's only their weekday office line they provide. 1245 comes, I email and try to call again. Nothing. 1255, some guys cruise up in a truck to deliver my order. They are moving at a snails pace to get my tables and chairs set up. Guest start slowly arriving. How freaking embarrassing. Nobody once called me to say they were running late or give me any updates. I expressed how frustrated I was with their service a few days later. Nobody reached back out, no apology, nothing. That's the last time I'll ever use San Diego linens or REFER anybody to them, considering how many ppl I referred from my wedding. Be careful if you book with them y'all.

My sister contacted this company for tables and chairs for her daughter's birthday this past…read moreweekend (4/21/18). She had a lot of planning going on so I decided to step in and lend her a helping hand. She asked if she could leave my number down so I can be the contact for confirmation and planning (delivery/pickup time, etc) to which I happily obliged. I thought with all the rave reviews that I wouldn't have to go out of my way to contact them to make sure they still had my order, but I was wrong. We chatted with a rep for the company named Amy R. And she was not pleasant at all. First she said we never confirmed the order so they canceled it. When we asked what form of communication the company used, she said email and phone which is a blatant lie because neither of us received any form of communication. I'm not sure if they had the wrong number down, or wrong email, or there was a glitch in the system, but in no way did they "try to" reach us. As the rep Amy was unprofessional and unhelpful, she wanted to charge us a $50 fee to UNcancel our order. We told her we'd leave a review due to the unfairness and unprofessionalism to which she responded with "good luck with that". We ended up having to desperately look for another company who was able to deliver the same day and pay a little extra, but they were friendlier and more professional. This is a little rant due to frustration, but it's more of a warning to those who are looking to rent from them. Beware of them not coming through on their end. I wouldn't order from this place again to avoid the stress they caused.

It's been five years since my wedding was canceled due to COVID. Like so many others at the time, I…read morewas facing financial uncertainty, but I initially understood why this business chose not to refund my deposit. We were all trying to stay afloat. What I don't understand is why--after all this time--not one person has reached out to me. My calls have gone unanswered. At this point, it's clear they've chosen to keep my money and hope I just go away. Well, they almost got away with it--but I won't stay silent. The least I can do is share my experience so others can make informed decisions. Times are tough again, and now more than ever, people deserve to work with empathetic, customer-focused companies. Out of all the vendors I worked with--some much smaller businesses, and even The Mission Inn in Riverside--every single one handled things with empathy and integrity. This company did the opposite. I never had a wedding due to COVID. That ship sailed years ago. Suggesting I use the deposit for another event is completely unrealistic. I'm not an event planner--what would I even need rentals for now? If the business chooses to respond here with a long, defensive comment instead of simply doing the right thing, don't be fooled. A polished reply from behind a keyboard doesn't change the fact that they've ignored me for five years. This experience has been deeply disappointing. If they're still holding onto deposits from people who never received a service, it says everything you need to know about how they operate.
