We stayed in Bridport while visiting North East Tasmania and came across this cafe while searching for somewhere to have breakfast before a day full of wine tasting. Very friendly and attentive staff took our order quickly and were happy to talk about the cafes favourite breakfast options, which was the baked beans. I rarely go past a recommendation and wasn't disappointed, the beans were delicious. Both meals and all coffees (we had several) were good. They are also licensed for the hard stuff, with a good variety of Tasmanian beer, wine and cider. Large windows provide a view of the ocean and the light, bright interior features local art and produce. This place has a cool vibe. It's a popular place with the locals; a great place to watch the goings-on of a small town. read more

Not enough can be said about this little gem. As the name suggest, it's cafe. In Bridport. What it should be named is the best coffee in Tasmania. On a holiday to Tassie with the family Bridport was the third place I'd had coffee and I was introduced to the cafe by a local who swore it had the best coffee. And after having nothing but airplane coffee and the terrible coffee at the world class golfcourse I was absolutely hopeful. She wasn't wrong and I'd found that the coffee was even better than anything I'd had from Queensland. The icing on the cake were the lovely staff, the wonderful selection of delicious home made desserts and savoury treats in their cabinet. The place has a wonderful atmosphere, is five minutes walk from the beach and is where the friendly locals go to get their cup of joe - for good reason! If you're staying in Launceston then I implore you to take a day and drive to Bridport to experience their gorgeous beaches and this absolute gem of a coffee shop. read more
