I am 68 and have been to many churches over my lifetime but when I walked into Valley Creek Church,…read morei was amazed. Everyone was so warm and friendly and anxious to meet you and share the Holy Spirit in beautiful, uplifting song and praises. You feel the presence of our Lord at every service singing and praising him. Pastor John is like the pied piper, you cannot get enough of his preaching about Jesus in a way that everyone can relate to. There is a feeling in the air that we are going to learn something special about Jesus and especially how he relates to us and our relationship with him. Valley Creek Church makes you feel as though you have come home!! There are no strangers at Valley Creek Church!

I have never been to a more hateful church than this one. I came out as Bisexual a few years into…read moreattending this church and no one ever questioned me on it and I didn't particularly speak about it often, because it doesn't affect the church. I served on the Kids Experience Team and never ONCE spoke about sexual orientation to any child, parent, or guest, as it is not my place nor in my prerogative to do so. I did come out to some of my friends who also were on the Kids Experience team. From that, someone told the leader of that team(at the time). The leader of the team and the campus pastor then proceeded to conduct a meeting with all of the people I told, not including me, and told all the parents to bring their kids to church early for said meeting. When one parent said she knew who it was(and didn't mention a name) they said my name when referring to me after that, proving they do NOT care about the PRIVACY of their members, by doing this they put me at risk. I would like to also mention the way we found out about this meeting was through another parent, they did not tell us that this was happening. They then scheduled a meeting with my parents and "outed" me to them(they already knew). My parents told them they would NOT be returning or donating anymore money to church who encourages hate. After 2 weeks, they finally scheduled a meeting with me, telling me I was off the Kids team and to "go on my journey with god." These people told me to talk to god about my sexuality and urged me to keep coming to their church. They told me I was the first person to serve with them to be "suspended" from the kids team because of this reason. After that I kept going to services, hoping that maybe I would feel better. I don't know if I was just more intune with it than before or what the deal was, but EVERY SERMON, no matter the circumstance, talked about how being gay was a sin and it was horrible and you shouldn't do it blah blah blah. After that I left, and 2 other family's left as well. I would never suggest this church to anyone, the way they treated me after this I will never forget. I haven't been to church for years because of this situation and fell into a depression. I started condemning God for the things that these people put me through, because that's what I associated with him. I have found my way back but I still suffer many doubts because of these individuals. I have never been to church that embodied the expression "No better hate than christian love" more.

You could truly feel the Spirit moving throughout the service--it was powerful and uplifting. I really enjoyed myself and genuinely felt God's presence during worship and the message. From the moment I arrived to the time I left, everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and kind, which made the experience even more meaningful. If I lived closer, this is definitely a church I would visit regularly just to get a deeper sense of the community and overall vibe. I would highly recommend The Village Church to anyone looking for a welcoming, Spirit-filled place of worship.

Not more, nor less than just the truth and that in itself would stun some folks because as humans we just want to hear what is sweet to us. Since I have attended it for 20+ years, I seen closely Matt, Josh Patterson and the leadership and can tell you that they are pretty solid. However, "if you can't handle the truth" (Jack Nicholson), Matt's sermon will make you question things and may shake you. I can tell you that I learned much since I started.

Rockpointe Church of Flower Mound…read more This is my favorite church I've ever been to! They are so nice and you learn so much about Jesus. The community is unbelievable. The children's ministry is so fun. I love it there, it is like my home away from home

We have been attending Rockpointe since 2019, we tried all the churches in the area and we ended up…read moresticking around here. It was a great mix of factors that led us to that decision. We live only 5 minutes away so it's easy to get to plus they have police guidance getting in and out. Their children's ministry has been such a huge blessing to us and our children. All the volunteers really love on the kids and my kids always come out of Sunday service so happy and enriched. Walking to main service with my husband after dropping off our kids to the kids church is one of my favorite times plus they have good drip complimentary coffee which helps. My kids were dedicated to the Lord at this church which included a class we had to attend as parents to go over what that all truly means. They have a ministry for children with special needs and hearing the parents of these children speak about how big of a blessing that is to them always brings me to tears... My husband and I have been a part of the small group, we've done marriage weekend retreats and reengage program. We are grateful and thankful for all these things that has helped us out. There are two lead pastors, both a little different in their teaching styles but their doctrine is always sound and solid-- firmly rooted in the word of God, Jesus as the savior and king. The worship ministry is amazing. One of the first thing I noticed was how diverse the stage often is. Our first time there was a Christmas Eve service and there was a rapper on stage singing about Jesus and it brought me to tears the way he sang and the lyrics of the rap. It was awesome to see that in a church. They also sing mostly contemporary worship which is my personal favorite. Communion is done every service followed by a hymn which is always nice, they select hymns that everyone is usually familiar with. I always find myself adding to my worship playlist from their song selection. The baptisms are done every so often before service usually 2-3 people at a time and most of the time their testimonies will be read or the person will read their own, I cry every time because of how amazing God works in so many different ways and backgrounds. All in all I like how this church is very genuine and sincere, not too over the top (sometimes people like that but it makes me slightly uncomfortable). We love being a part of this church body and the people we've had the pleasure of meeting and making friends here. The facility is nice and always very clean. There's family restrooms and there's a child seat and seatbelt so mommy can use the toilet without worrying about the kid running off and touching everything. There's so much more I could say, we love it here.

The worship hall feels more like a chapel in size. It's pretty plain and simple. The nicer parts of the church you won't see if you just show up for Sunday service and scram. They have a really cute and new youth and young adult ministry area with a coffee shop. On site is the Shiloh Cemetery. Shiloh is more than just the name of a road that intersects with Cross Timbers...it's a tiny town that is almost all but forgotten. This church and cemetery might be one of the last things keeping it on a map. As I said before, it's a casual church. Feels conservative and traditional but also non-denominational at the same time. Pastor will preach in overalls and cowboy boots, cut off shorts and sandals, Hawaiian shirts with cargo pants and flip flops....whatever the mood strikes him. I have heard he has even carried on the service barefoot! Hey, it was good enough for Jesus, so who are we to judge! If you don't like "small church" feel, where everyone knows everyone (and probably their business too), then this might not be the church for you. It's a small enough worship hall that people notice missing members of the congregation, or new comers. But if you like your church to be like "Cheers", where everyone knows your name and they are always glad you came....then this is the place you want to be at! Music selection is okay, execution is kinda painful, but by golly they are trying their hearts out up there on stage. I'm not gonna say I could do it any better either. So lets all stand up, clap our hands together, read the words off the projector screen and ......Let the spirit move you! It's a nice church, and I recommend you give it a try if you live in the area and are looking for a church home. It's certainly not for everyone though, just a matter of "church style" preferences I guess.
