Pastor Nelson and his staff are incredible! They tell you the truth and even though it may be hard to hear sometimes, it is always backed by the Bible and what God intended and wants for His people. How amazing is that?! You really get to dig deep in this church. My Dad always says, "we're getting Seminary teaching for free". And it's so true! DBC is wonderful for all ages and has many ways to plug yourself into the Body of Christ. I grew up in AWANA, Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, Sports World, and more! It's such a refreshing church and so encouraging to be in a place like Denton Bible. I encourage anyone and everyone to go! Your life will be forever changed.

I gave my life to Christ the first time I went because I was so moved! The worship is beautiful and sets the mood for you to connect with God perfectly. I didn't feel pushed or out of place at all. The pastor even offers a monthly evening where he meets with you to tell you more about the churches specific beliefs and to get to know him and some of the staff better. They give so much of their income to other missions and what not that they believe in and put little back into the church, but enough to be able to provide for a great staff, lots of events, and a good kids education. I'm thankful that my family came across this beautiful place that God has planted in Denton!

You feel the presence of our Lord at every service singing and praising him. I have never been to a more hateful church than this one. I came out as Bisexual a few years into…read moreattending this church and no one ever questioned me on it and I didn't particularly speak about it often, because it doesn't affect the church. I served on the Kids Experience Team and never ONCE spoke about sexual orientation to any child, parent, or guest, as it is not my place nor in my prerogative to do so. I did come out to some of my friends who also were on the Kids Experience team. From that, someone told the leader of that team(at the time). The leader of the team and the campus pastor then proceeded to conduct a meeting with all of the people I told, not including me, and told all the parents to bring their kids to church early for said meeting. When one parent said she knew who it was(and didn't mention a name) they said my name when referring to me after that, proving they do NOT care about the PRIVACY of their members, by doing this they put me at risk. I would like to also mention the way we found out about this meeting was through another parent, they did not tell us that this was happening. They then scheduled a meeting with my parents and "outed" me to them(they already knew). My parents told them they would NOT be returning or donating anymore money to church who encourages hate. After 2 weeks, they finally scheduled a meeting with me, telling me I was off the Kids team and to "go on my journey with god." These people told me to talk to god about my sexuality and urged me to keep coming to their church. They told me I was the first person to serve with them to be "suspended" from the kids team because of this reason. After that I kept going to services, hoping that maybe I would feel better. I don't know if I was just more intune with it than before or what the deal was, but EVERY SERMON, no matter the circumstance, talked about how being gay was a sin and it was horrible and you shouldn't do it blah blah blah. After that I left, and 2 other family's left as well. I would never suggest this church to anyone, the way they treated me after this I will never forget. I haven't been to church for years because of this situation and fell into a depression. I started condemning God for the things that these people put me through, because that's what I associated with him. I have found my way back but I still suffer many doubts because of these individuals. I have never been to church that embodied the expression "No better hate than christian love" more.
They sent us thoughtful card and candles for the candlelight service for the online campus

It's been quite a while since I got married, but I still feel the same way about my experience,…read morewhich is why I wanted to write this review. Thankfully, my family and I have since found a church where we feel genuinely welcomed and supported. I grew up attending this church and many of my family members and friends did as well. Because of that, it felt like the natural place to celebrate such a special moment in our lives. Unfortunately, the experience leading up to our wedding was incredibly disappointing. Throughout the planning process many of our interactions with Elsa left us feeling judged rather than supported. It often felt like we were constantly being corrected or expected to meet certain standards instead of being encouraged and welcomed. Rather than feeling excited about getting married in the church I grew up in I found myself feeling discouraged. I believe churches should help people feel welcomed, encouraged, and drawn closer to their faith not leave them feeling like outsiders or ashamed because they don't meet every expectation. (Sometimes unfortunately people do stray away but who are we to judge or make people feel that way?) The day of our wedding was especially disappointing. Shortly after the ceremony we were rushed to leave and were told we needed to get out. After such an important milestone that was an unfortunate way to end. I'm grateful to have found a new church where my family and I feel accepted, welcomed, and able to grow in our faith without feeling judged. I truly hope everyone who chooses to celebrate one of life's biggest moments here has an experience that makes them feel loved and supported.

Despite its smaller size, the church felt vibrant and it was pretty packed for a midday Mass. The priest gave an excellent homily, though the deacon was a bit hard to understand. Notable perk: the seats and kneelers are super cushioned and probably some of the most comfortable I've experienced. This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself." First Presbyterian Church of Grapevine embodies this beautifully. With worship services in a beautiful sanctuary that include moving music and inspiring sermons, this congregation celebrates God's love and does their best to live as good stewards of God's creation and true brothers and sisters to all of God's people. Children are cherished and welcome here. There is a lovely nursery and a table in the sanctuary where kids can sit together and color or do play quietly during worship.
