The host greeted up and asked if we had reservations on that fine Saturday evening; we did not. He found us a table anyway but told us that he needed it back in 2 hours (no problem). Our server came along and took our drink orders fairly quickly. She was attentive, but not overly, for the rest of the evening. Our food was good. The kids pasta dish was pretty bland, but that was probably on purpose. My goat cheese salad was very good. So was the chicken and walnut salad my friend had. I think that the only complaint was from my husband who thought his baked crepe with mushrooms was a bit too greasy. His French Onion soup was excellent though. The presentation of the food was great. I have added some pics.

It was not busy and people working their were avoiding eye contact with us while waiting at the door and wasn't even given a hello just a hère pointing to the closest table. The menu has " Specials " which are printed in a misleading way on the menu and made the lunch much more expensive then expected. Which also the servers were extremely uncouth about explaining. The béarnaise sauce was so sweet it tasted more like cake frosting. This meal was almost double the price I expected with poor service and not even good food. I would strongly recommend you go anywhere around. We made the mistake for you.

It was the most inexpensive Afternoon Tea, and it was also in Kingston. I really enjoyed this place because of the service and atmosphere. We were greeted as soon as we walked into the restaurant. I had an appointment at 1pm, and they had my table ready. After we sat down, we were asked to select our teas. I selected the Passion one because it had the best aroma. It ended up being refreshing. I was surprised that it was actual tea leaves because I was expecting regular teabags. The teas tasted phenomenal, and all the desserts and treats were superb. The restaurant is relatively new, and there is a Hilton next door. I loved all the treats. The servers kept checking on us, and saying hello to us. I truly enjoyed my experience. Both of the servers were excellent. Please keep up the good work with excellent customer service, and I plan on coming here in the future again. I wish I had brought more pounds to give Julia a tip! She was excellent. I loved her spirit! Also, the bathroom is amazing. The place had excellent decor. Please maintain all the great qualities about this place such as the food, service, and the decor.

The sandwiches were not very inspiring or dainty and the cream was not clotted ! The staff were apologetic for the delay as they said all the kitchen staff were new ! If we had known how long it was going to take, we could have done some shopping ! The vibe is 1970s style with furnishings and background music from that decade - so I hope you like Starsky and Hutch !!

Wednesday night is ladies night and to all tables of ladies only this means FREE WINE - yes you have read this correctly - free wine ladies (sorry boys this does not include you!) and let me just say they are not shy with their pouring or their refilling. So last Wednesday myself and 9 other likeminded ladies braved the journey to outermost Surbiton in the quest of free wine! And I have to say it was absolutely worth the journey. The staff here are lovely, welcoming and friendly. They were as I've already said really generous with the wine but the best thing of all was the food which was fantastic. On Ladies Night there is a set menu costing £25 for three courses and of course the free wine (I think you are getting the impression of how much I like free wine;) The menu consisted of a choice of four starters, five mains and five desserts. The choices were really good both particularly for carnivores but there was a really nice veggie and fish option as well. I had Chicken Parfait to start, Pork Entrecote for main and Langleys messed up ( a sort of Eton mess) for dessert and I loved every course. My fellow diners were equally impressed and I have to say I will be going back again - admittedly only on a Wednesday as Surbiton really is a bit out of the way for me!

So tasty and nice atmosphere! Definitely recommend the bottomless brunch on the weekend.read more
