He was curt in his emails, seemed to have blamed others (expeditor) for time lags and in general treated my 78yr old mother as a nuisance. The final closing statement he gave her was hand written, covered with white-out and a general big mess, which didn't make any sense. When asked for a more legible copy with more detail, he said it could be up two weeks. It was just spiteful. Did receive a legible copy within two-three days, but again no detail... just a typed up copy of what I already had and still no detail or explanations to my questions. This guy is arrogant. I say ok and of course never heard from her yet again. When I contacted her to let her know she wasted my entire afternoon, she then responds with a lengthy rather bizarre phone message apologizing and saying " I know you must hate me" and an email saying "I absolutely understand you're furious and for thinking the worse of me."It seems like I can give you a hundred reasons and it won't be enough, but I just wanted to say I am sorry from the bottom of my heart for "wasting your time" and whatever inconvenience I have caused you, and for accommodating my schedule." No offense but I don't even know you. I was traveling to Japan the following day and said I would be in touch when I return and she tells me the position I was inquiring about will most likely not be available when I return. Yes, which is why I wanted to speak before I left! All very strange, beyond frustrating and completely unprofessional. He made jokes and told me to call him and "pester" him so that they can get me placed. During that meeting, he told me that there is an opening at an IT consulting firm. Regis said I had the background for it. When I called on Monday morning, Regis said I got a phone interview for the next day. Everything happened pretty quickly. Even though the gig didn't work out (no fault on TempAlt's part), I will totally stay with TempAlts. They seem to know what works and doesn't. Totally cool.
