Stopped into Bridge House after walking around little Venice for a late lunch/afternoon snack. Bridge House has a very welcoming vibes and has an extensive menu offering something for everyone. The staff is was very polite and very welcoming. I ordered the charcuterie board, which was a very generous portion and very delicious. The Scottish eggs and the calamari were very delicious as well. Would recommend the Bridge House if you are in the area or checking out little Venice! read more

The Bridge House Pub is below the Canal Café Theatre in Little Venice. It is a fairly small pub with seating around the bar, at the end of which is a double sofa set. The lights are set low and the whole ambience suggests an attempt to create a 'boho' snug bar. It is a fair attempt. The bar is well stocked with Leffe on tap and Hendricks gin. There is also food which is largely in the form of tapas, sharing plates. It is quite a comfortable pub, unfortunately when I have been the service has been slow and vaguely dismissive. If you're going to see a show it is worth going in for a quick drink, although buy a couple of drinks at a time and relax in the comfy sofas. read more

The place is really decent from the inside and the staff is very sweet as well. I did not have a chance to view one of the live comedy shows but the stage seems very posh, which is always good. I ordered two sides of sweet potato fries, those were superb and very tasty. I also had a lemonade and a late for my wife, they were not particularly wow, but were above average. The reason why this review is only 3 stars is due to their lack of choices of beer, especially the non alcoholic type. I would have expected them to have a larger variety of alcohol free beers since they advertise about their beer collection. This in my opinion is a massive shortcoming. I might visit them again soon and if this changes I will make sure to update my review. Oh yeah, they took a really long time to prepare the late as well which was very strange as the place was not really busy. read more

My husband took me to the Bridge House for a Sunday roast. The food here is outstanding and is the main reason I've given them four stars! I had the chicken roast, which was rich and full of favour! Sooo yummy! My hubby found the food so good, he not only ate his mixed roast but also helped me finish mine!! In all other regards, this place is pretty non remarkable. The atmosphere is like almost all other English pubs. The beer selection is pretty good, but not amazing. They did have Sierra Nevada on tap, which is a plus! However, two pints cost 10£ so relatively pricey, but to be expected in this area. One thing that really upset me was the board game selection. Online this place is listed as having board games, which was one of the reasons my hubby selected this place. However, their board game selection is pretty poor with no classics. The only classic board game was an incomplete checker/chess set. This was pretty disappointing and is one reason why they lost points! Overall, it was good, but unremarkable. I may stop in if in the neighbourhood, but wouldn't go out of my way! read more

They have a good beer selection (including casks), there's a ton of seating (but make a reservation if you're a big group) and they have board games! Staff is also super friendly. I spent a good few years living just next to this cute little pub only moments away from Warwick avenue tube, set it the stunning environs of Little Venice with it's quiet streets and loud waterfowl, this is a great pub to enjoy a lazy Summer Saturday pint at, followed by a quick stagger (30-40 mins) up along the canal to Camden to let rip of an evening! The ambiance is dark and luscious, the intimate atmosphere belying the fact that the pub is a reasonable size. The selection of drinks is good, with a fine selection of spirits... If you want a cocktail however, can you please go somewhere else; not because the cocktails are bad, but because the bar is sometimes a little understaffed and the last thing I want is to have to wait half an hour for my pint while some bastard in front of me orders 17 Mohitos... What I'm saying here is that the service is slow... Sometimes verrry slow... Another good thing about the Bridge House is that the upstairs is an extremely cozy (read tiny) comedy venue, with a weekly satirical news revue. TOP TIP: Buy a full bottle of wine rather than a glass before you go up to watch a performance as the service downstairs is slow and tables and chairs upstairs are so close together that it is unlikely you will be able to get out once others have sat down... read more

The Bridge House is a great pub, with a more daring selection of craft beer than average, surprisingly good food, and a charming theatre (the Canal Cafe Theatre) upstairs. The beer immediately marks them out as being a cut above the average pub. These days, with craft beer very much en vogue, it's all too easy to stock up on Blue Moon, Brooklyn Lager and Leffe and call yourself a purveyor of craft beer. A few years ago that would have indeed been noteworthy. Today however that's average. The Bridge House clearly has higher aspirations, toting the likes of Belgian fruit beer Bacchus, Erdinger Dunkel, excellent German wheat beers among plenty more interesting offerings including three seasonal ales alongside the usuals. It's not the Craft Beer Company, but it's clearly better than average. The food's good too: my chorizo burger with pulled pork and cheddar was delicious, soft and well-flavoured. My girlfriend's sweet potato wedges were of a generous portion and delicately cooked. Other pluses include the kitchen being open until 10pm, no minimum spend on a card, friendly service, a fantastic, unusual indie/dance soundtrack, a cosy interior and a wonderfully convenient location right next to the Regent's Canal. I haven't been to many of the other pubs in this area, but I'd be surprised if they matched what's on offer here. read more

Smallish pub in a quiet location in Little Venice. Fairly traditional type décor, cosy ambience and not too busy in my experience. Real ales are available, and food is served, though I have not tried it. The Bridge House is nothing spectacular, but is pleasant enough. Ideal for stopping off at if you are visiting other drinking establishments in the Little Venice/Maida Vale area. read more

We've often stopped off here whilst walking along the canal. It's a good place to go. Everyone chooses to sit or stand outside when the weather permits - there's a reasonable view of the river and it's a peaceful spot. The beer is good. We've never eaten here but the food looked reasonable. read more

I really like The Bridge House. It's a kind of "shabby chic" type establishment. Mind you, I am possibly incorrect about the "chic" part. The bar is really well stocked and they offer some great beers. The staff are always efficient and friendly too on the whole. I have not eaten here before, but the menu always looks appetising enough. The best experience that I have had here was at the theatre above the pub. I came here to watch the hilarious (and gorgeous) Lucy Porter do a pre-Edinburgh Fringe performance. Not only was she amazingly funny, but she bought me a drink and a Ferrero Rocher after as a thanks for "enduring" experimental material. Good times. read more

I stopped in for lunch. I thought it a touch pricey, but as a vegetarian I was getting some of the cheaper bits, so it's not so bad. They had some seasonal beers on tap, which is always good. I love to try a beer I've never had before. I had the spinach and lentil veggie burger. They say it is homemade and I believe it. It was very tasty and not at all the usual veggie burger fare. The fries were thin-cut and very short. Not terribly satisfying. (I prefer bigger chips) My friends got several species to make up for my vegetarian orders, and both were happy with what they got. The worst steak I have ever had. Dry, overcooked and tough. It takes a really bad chef to screw up a steak. Sloppy bearnaise sauce too - more like custard than anything a French man would determine edible. The battered fish was brown, not golden and they brought salad despite a request for veg. A funky looking gastro pub that promises way more than it delivers. I cannot recommend anyone to eat here. So much so I am writing this before my plate has even been cleared. Oooh hello cosy pub with an open fire! This is where I spent the first part of my evening last night while everyone else was hiding away from the snow. I think I won. It's such a cosy pub (and let's face it, made cosier by the fact my feet are freezing and I'm not outside anymore). I've never been to Maida Vale, despite living in London for over 8 years. It's very very far away from Greenwich you see, but as I'd wound up on this side of town for a bunch of meetings, my friend and new client decided we should go a drinking here. I'm very pleased he did. You should go pop over there whilst it's still cold - the canal looks pretty amazing totally frozen. The pubs is lovely, the food on the menu looked pretty good (although in true gastro pub fashion, they called their burger section of the menu the "burger boutique". Ick) and despite me not liking pate, even I was tempted by the chicken and leek pate they had on the specials board. And they've even got board games too. This is the perfect pub for holing up and playing Scrabble in. There's a theatre upstairs as well. So why not five stars? Well, the attitude from the barman could have been avoided. The pint her poured my friend wasn't great, but instead of simply changing it, he argued about it. After you've drunk two mouthfuls, and decided it doesn't taste right, you don't ask to change a beer for the fun of it. He was grumpy, and considering it's such a warm and cosy pub, he couldn't care less and clearly didn't want to be there. As my first taster of Maida Vale, I'm impressed and can't wait to explore more (when the damn snow has gone). I'll definitely come back here, but I'm hoping it's not the same barman when I return. read more

This is my favourite pub - and not just because it's my local. Something must have changed there since the other reviewers - they don't even do fish and chips and the food is excellent. This pub has a fireplace with a real fire in it, a bookshelf with books you can read, board games, and a genuine, if reasonably quiet, atmosphere. The bar staff are friendly, the music is quiet enough to hold a conversation, and outside of weekends there aren't too many people so you can usually get a table or even a sofa. read more

The wine list is varied, good value and interesting, and there are plenty of beers from around the world on tap (not neglecting our own draughts). I can heartily recommend the pub grub. This place can be crowded, although it is not small - if you manage to get a seat by the open fire, you should probably stay there for the winter. Upstairs is a theatre, with regular comedy and other shows. Last time I checked there was a weekly quiz, with money to be won (apparently - I never actually found out whether it was real money). Little Venice, a pretty, quiet place. As the name suggest, the Bridge House is next to the bridge over the canal, but sadly not on the canal but on the road. With a tiny outdoors bit. Such a shame really. Still it was pleasant enough on a sunny May Monday afternoon to sit outside with colleagues. If prizes were awarded to the most bizarre pub decor, I think this pub would be in the top five. Mix of old style pub, Moulin Rouge and a theatre (there's a theatre upstairs) if you can imagine. Range of drinks was fine, though think the Landlord I had was a little off. Generally I would avoid this place. I imagine it would be better when a show was on. It's located just along the Grand Union Canal by Little Venice and yet it is unassuming and easily forgotten. Greeaaaaattt gastropub! Friends and I were looking for a chill pub that has board games and found Bridge House. While their board game supply could be stocked up a bit, we played monopoly near the fireplace whilst enjoying some yummy pub food and drink. Granted, we didn't finish monopoly (who ever does??), but we really enjoyed the ambiance and the server was nice and helpful. It's right next to the canal, which I'm sure is amazing to sit outside when it's nice weather and there's a theatre upstairs that we're going to check out sometime soon. read more

Stopped here for lunch as we were in Little Venice. It's just OK really- inside was more dark than cosy. Still it was crowded and we had to share our table. We would have preferred to sit outside but the tables right on the road didn't look all that inviting. The food was priced OK but the portions won't fill you up for long- my friend was a bit disappointed with her potato wedges though I enjoyed my fish finger sandwich. Will probably look for somewhere else if I'm in the area again. read more
