The wedding dresses at this store are very beautiful and they have a great range to try on. They also have formal dress for sale as well. The staff here is a mix of young and old (manly older) and they can be helpful when they want to be. When I first started looking for a dress they didn't seem interested in me and I was quite taken back by how rude they where, but I went back and gave them anther try cause I had found a dress that I loved. The 2nd time I went back I had a much better sale person she was a younger lady and was amazing help. Let me try on as many dresses as I could to make sure I was picking the best for my body shape. We where also allowed to take photos of the dresses we liked so I could review them at home and make a final pick. (Very important for a bride to be). The dresses are in a good price range for what you get. They also do in store alterations to dresses if they need to be done at an extra fee, depends on what needs to be done as to how much this will cost. If you want to visit them on a Sunday you do need to make an appointment with them. read more

I recently visited this store with my sister who wanted to try on a specific wedding dress. The saleswoman, Colleen, was quite abrupt with us. She allowed my sister to try on the dress she came in for, but the saleswoman kept that my sister try on dresses from the sale rack. We felt that this was highly inappropriate as Colleen had no way of knowing what our price range was, but she still continued to bring out waves of sale rack dresses and make loud comments about the prices. Apart from this, the store was quite well presented. Though it was a bit crowded, they had a wide range of dresses and to their credit, they did have the exact dress my sister was looking for. In short, despite the pleasantly decorated store, the unpleasant staff made us feel judged and uncomfortable. I will not return to this store. read more

I have now purchased three evening dresses, a wedding dress and my bridesmaid dress from Brides By The Bay. I found them nothing less than professional and genuinely warm, friendly and caring. I have at least two friends who purchased their wedding dresses there. I have another friend who I took there to buy a dress to wear to a very formal wedding, who was intimidated by other stores and ends up in tears every time she shops for clothes. She was so happy she bought two dresses! I shop in weekdays during the day (traditionally quiet trading times) and have never seen any less than three assistants and often more. I am a size 16 and have been an 18 in the past. My friends are different sizes ranging from size 10-22. All of us bought dresses we look stunning in. The feedback from the staff at BBTB is always open and honest. They kept bringing me dresses until we found 'the one' each time I shopped there. I usually came out with a dress I never expected would look so good on me. I've learned to trust the girls and allow them to suggest dresses, even if at first I'm not so keen on the look of the dress. They're professional and know what they're doing. Carla (who does the alterations) is one of the sweetest human beings I have the pleasure of knowing and is professional (amazing at her craft) and warm and friendly too. I couldn't recommend Brides By The Bay highly enough and find myself wanting to buy evening dress all the time now! They've always gone the extra mile from the day I first set foot in the store. This is not a snooty bridal boutique, it's a friendly, warm and professional business with lovely high quality dresses that don't cost the earth. I was really excited about finding Brides on the Bay. On their website they seem to be genuine and profess to have a wide range of dresses available. I took my bridesmaids one day so we could have a look for a wedding dress. As soon as I walked in the front door, I was disappointed. We waited for about five minutes for someone to attend to us and as soon as someone did, they were very abrupt and sharp with us, as though it were an inconvenience for us to be shopping there. I was looking for larger size dresses, the exact reason we had picked this store. They had two dresses in my size and the range was very limited. I was told that they didn't have many dresses available at that time and I wasn't even offered an alternative. We were left to our own devices while the only two staff members in the store had lunch. Generally, it was a terrible experience and I felt as though us being there was an inconvenience to them. Definitely never going back there and I'm telling everyone about my experience. read more
