It was listed in new condition. I am fairly pleased with the purchase however there was one small tear of part of the front card box. This business doesn't deserve even the one star that Yelp requires as a minimum…read more My son and I stopped in today because he wanted to check out their Pokémon inventory. While we were browsing, a young man in the store asked the employees behind the counter if they were interested in purchasing some cards from him. They declined. After hearing that, I casually mentioned that my son might be interested if the seller was looking to move them. My son even politely asked if that would be a problem. Instead of responding professionally or courteously, one of the employees immediately stated that if my son and the seller worked out a deal, they would owe the store a 15% commission. The comment came across as rude, unnecessary, and frankly absurd considering the store had already made it clear they had no interest in the transaction themselves. To avoid any issues, we left the store and sat on a nearby bench outside. A couple of minutes later, the owner/manager came outside and rudely questioned my son and the other young man about whether they were conducting business. When they answered honestly, he told us to get off "his property." The problem? We were on a bench alongside the sidewalk. What should have been a simple interaction escalated into an unnecessarily confrontational situation because of the owner's attitude and lack of basic customer service skills. Rather than treating potential customers with respect, he chose hostility, intimidation, and arrogance. Words were exchanged, and while it's doubtful he cares, he permanently lost our business. I fully understand that a business owner has the right to manage activities inside their store and maintain a professional environment. What I do not understand is the sense of entitlement and disrespect shown toward customers, especially when they were no longer on the premises. The entire encounter left the impression that the only thing that mattered was whether the owner was getting a piece of the transaction. The unfortunate reality is that behavior like this drives people away from the hobby and creates a toxic atmosphere that benefits no one. The one positive outcome from the experience was that my son and I met a genuinely nice young man and made a new friend. If you're looking for a card shop that values its customers and understands how to treat people with courtesy and respect, there are much better options in the area (BangerZ Cards, The Card Guys, etc.). We have had far better experiences elsewhere and will gladly take our business to shops that appreciate their customers.

I'd sum up Ollie's by saying this is a "last-chance-VERY-last-chance-we're-not-kidding-absolutely-NO-chance-after-THIS-chance" store. Some aisles are totally normal with everything arranged logically on shelves, other times it's just boxes shipped directly from a business, full of their clearance items and a piece of paper taped to the shelving to guide you through the pricing. Home goods are priced in perplexing ways that seem to be left to the whim of whoever happens to be on shift the day the shipment comes in. Kind of like Goodwill. You will definitely find something here you can use. Of that, there is no doubt. (nail clippers, toilet seat, baking pans, towels, a fan, an alarm clock, pet bowls, holiday decorations), but will you find THE thing you came in for? That's a different question altogether.

That said, the key to stores like this are selection, visibility, and price, and this place is only okay in all three regards. Came here at the recommendation of another Yelper who also enjoys deals. The fact that I came straight here after a visit to somewhat-close-by Discount Depot provides a good point of comparison: while this place has a fair number of bins, you can search through everything thoroughly in about 20 minutes due to its size. While prices are fairly standard for this kind of store, they certainly did not have much on the $10 day (Fri/Sat) that merited spending $10 on. Indeed, most of the boxes here are wrapped up so tight with no labels whatsoever that you can't really be sure what you're getting at all. A gentleman informed me that you could take boxes up front to be checked, though how manageable of an approach is that when each bin has a hundred mystery boxes? A better approach would be for them to open them, write on the side what it is, and put it in the bins, though maybe that's just not worth it to them. All things considered, while I might swing by again if I happened to be in the area (especially on one of their cheaper days), it's not worth going out of your way for. If you want a much better volume of options (most of which you can actually see what you're getting), head down the road for Discount Depot. Overall: 3.0 stars ---- Pros: - Lots of parking. - Prices are great after a few days, though on the $10 days not so much. - Store interior is clean and inviting. Cons: - Boxes are wrapped up so tight you won't know what half of the items there are. - Not as much selection as other stores of this nature. - This area has some security risks, so aim to come during daylight hours if possible.
