I love living in Brickell The Roads as I live in the border with Brickell. Only yelp seems to have removed the Roads page, not sure why. With Nicky Jam his manager living next to me the neighborhood is not that unimportant:-p Brickell is hip modern full of life , often too expensive but has hidden gems. Brickell is "an up and coming neighborhood" in downtown Miami. Close to public transportation (metrorail line) and within walking distance to a diversity of restaurants, boutique hotels, and many residential buildings. It borders "Little Havana" to the west and many condos within this area area also able to be rented. History- Once settled by settlers in the mid-19th century and once boasted the name "Millionaire's Row" due to its lavish Mansions along Brickell Avenue by Mary Brickell. Brickell is the home to the tallest building in Florida (Four Seasons); the largest concentration of International Banks in the U.S.; numerous high-rise residential apartments and hotels (Mandarin Oriental, Four Seasons, Conrad, Viceroy, Hampton Inn, Hotel Urbano); the First Physician's Office in Miami and Miami Circle, Tequestra Indian Burial Grounds. There is the Brickell Metro Station; the Metromover (free) and the Brickell Trolley (free but slow) for transportation. Parking at the Hotels and even at the high-rise Condo buildings will vary in price like any large city. There are only a few places with free parking such as one of the Publix Parking lots and the Strip Mall Parking Lots on SE 8th. The most widely used parking garage is in Mary Brickell Village. There are parking meters throughout Brickell that are enforced 24/7. You can pay by credit card, cash or by paybyphone.com. There are few permit or meter-less residential areas in Brickell with free parking. It is recommended you feed the meters and not take chances since the City of Miami Parking Officers work near 24/7, even on Holidays and South Beach Tow Trucks (Tremont Towing) have been spotted in Brickell. There are two Publix Grocery Stores, a 7-11, a CVS and Walgreens (24/7). The restaurants are located throughout Brickell including: Mary Brickell Village, Brickell Avenue including inside the Hotels; South Miami Avenue and SE 8th Street. There are two major Health Clubs (LA Fitness, LA Sports Club), two CrossFit Gyms, and several small parks (dog walkers, one with an outdoor basketball court). Long hailed as the city's Financial District, walking around you can definitely see why. The buildings stand tall, and well, I do believe the tallest building in Miami is here. That aside, there is plenty of entertainment around. One such spot is Mary Brickell Village, centrally located, where you can find plenty of dining options. There are other hot spots around such as cocktail bar Blackbird Ordinary. With that said, Brickell boasts an affluent population, as well as a big chunk of consulates. It borders Little Havana, Miami Beach, and Coconut Grove, so as a tourist or even a Miami native, you're bound to find something to do. Be warned though that driving here is a madhouse. Miami is terrible with drivers, but there's just something about driving in Brickell. Please, please, please be careful crossing the street - I cannot emphasis this enough; I have seen way too many people nearly get run over. If you avoid driving or opt not to, there are plenty of ways to get around. Public transportation and Uber are just a couple that come to mind. I find that Brickell in this aspect makes it easier to get around than other Miami areas. Still, Brickell in general is expensive. I saw a gas station the other night with regular gas being nearly $3 when others in Miami have been $2.17, hence Brickell is quite rich (both in expenses and experiences). read more

Brickell has always been a very small section of Miami. South of downtown,defined by iconic high rise buildings. One of them with the red twisted staircase was always shown in the beginning of Miami Vice series back in the Don Johnson days. Located in an International Financial District, north of Coconut Grove and East of the famous Calle Ocho. In recent years additions and upgrades were made and you have Mary Brickell Village. So truly the best of the best is here. Nicest hotels, restaurants and beautiful views of Biscayne Bay. With that comes bumper to bumper traffic, so do plan accordingly with having plenty of time. I always find myself here when I want to go to Perricone's, Capital Grill as well as PF Chang's. Or enroute to Casa Juancho on Calle Ocho. read more

Surrounded by Little Havana, Biscayne Bay, Downtown Miami and Coral Gables, Brickell is a great location to live and or work. Known as Miami's financial district, Brickell is made up of mostly banks and high-rise condo buildings. Most of the restaurants here are over priced, but there are many amazing places to eat spanning all price ranges. (Azul, Eos, Perricones, La Moon, Tinta y Café). Brickell is also a great place to go out with friends, especially as an alternative to South Beach. (Tobacco Road, Club 50, Transit Lounge, Mary Brickell Village etc...) As with most downtown areas in any big American city, parking is a pain, homeless people congregate, and the driver's suck, but overall Brickell is an awesome and safe area of Miami. read more

It's no secret I'm a huge fan of Brickell, I absolutely love the ocean views and the big city life all together in the perfect combination! I do real estate law in the area and I also sell real estate for fun. I try to stay in Brickell because it's just my favorite. There are so many beautiful buildings with views that you can't get anywhere else, like Jade on Brickell Bay or Asia on Brickell Key. There are a ton of great restaurants, like Nikko by Sunshine and Stanzione 87. Now, with the new Brickell Citycentre, we have it all. Movie theatres, shops, restaurants, smoothies, whatever you need. I am constantly here just always forget to check in. But this is my favorite hang out. There are always good delicious places to eat and it's nice to just walk around. I love the ambiance. If you want a quick drink you got it all around. It's a great strip. THe pubs are great. I love this place and it is surrounded by everything good. It's in the middle of everything. read more

Cool town, not bad at all in terms of scenery and nice buildings. You can walk to most places faster than you can cab it there. Just take some time walk around and explore. I wish I got to check more of the town out but it was raining a lot when I visited. Lots of yummy restaurants to check out of as well. read more
