Beautiful sea themed purse of art on each table. OMG. We did the tasting menu. Just drool over the pictures ... My only complaint? They did a five minute explanation of every course in Italian and then I got the 5 word English translation from my cousin's! I am sure I missed some fabulous descriptions lost in translation. But the food was still incredible.

We arrived at the airport a day early at 5 in the morning. Fortunately, this cute hotel is was no more than an 8-9 € taxi ride away from the airport, was highly recommended online, and was worth it in every way. Inexpensive. Clean. Modern. Amazingly friendly. We got to the hotel around 6:30am and the night doorman let us in and immediately let us tuck all our luggage away in a corner of the lobby. When we explained things to him, he told us that we could have a room by 10:00am. Until then he let us wait in the comfy lobby. When breakfast rolled around we went and enjoyed that. By the time we were done it was only 8:30, but the cleaning crew had cleaned up one of the rooms early and we were allowed to move in! This was amazing for us, as it allowed us to get back to sleep for a while, seeing as we had gotten up ridiculously early to make our imagined plane. The room was wonderful, and the check out was easy. They also set up a taxi for us for our trip to the airport the next morning. While they did not charge for this, you should know that a very early morning taxi ride costs double... According to the taxi driver.

McDonald's - When in Rome, try almost everything on the McDonald's menu. Because why not (also because Alitalia food is horrendous)

There were no miscommunications about our orders and the service was fast enough. What we ordered? EVERYTHING basically, since we knew we would be getting on an Alitalia flight which has horrendous food selections. But here are the specifics: -A chocolate croissant - because we don't have this in the US so we had to try it. It was pretty dry and nothing to write home about. Kind of disappointing, but okay. I think this was about 2 euros -Pancakes, Sausage on an English muffin, and a hash brown - same quality as those in NYC. Pretty good for McDonald's standards although the pancake syrup was super weird -Espresso shot - because when in Rome.. but this was sour AF. Likely just burnt coffee. No amount of sugar could mask it, but I just chugged it because I needed the caffeine -Bacon & Egg McMuffin - my friend said this was pretty good -Toast sammy - some sort of ham and cheese sammy that my friend absolutely hated. Cold ham with mayo/white cream cheese on fake toast (?) Skip this. A waste of 3 euro. They offered us as many sauces as we wanted. Decent Mickey D's airport experience.
