My 81 year old cousin rented a house in Summerlin, Nevada for 3.5 months before she passed away. The landlord hired Brian to clean the garage floor, replace a few blinds she claimed were broken and 2 lightbulbs. The charge from Brian was $600.00. I am not sure if Brian inflated the charges or what exactly happened but I received a bill for $600.00 that the landlord paid and charged me for. I had no recourse.
The floor was epoxy-coated and recently done. The epoxy coating should not have had to have been resealed and repainted and the landlord claimed it was done on 9/28 when Brian's invoice is dated 10/6. There were only a few slight dirt marks on the garage floor when we moved my cousin's belongings out on 9/20. Brian's invoice also charges for replaced blinds and the replacement of 2 light bulbs. Not sure who is taking advantage of who. I definitely feel taken advantage of as a single 81 year old could not have done extensive damage to the home to warrant this charge. You can also see from my picture No Visible damage to the blinds on the sliding glass doors that he claimed to replace. Shame Shame. read more
