I'm a 20yr old student at LSU and I found that absurd charges were added to the bill. Like what's a miscellaneous office expense? I didn't feel like they were treating me as they would my dad or something, just because I was a girl. I wouldn't recommend going here unless you want to pay triple what you would elsewhere when you need work done on your BMW. read more

First time reviewer. They get one star only because I don't know how to leave zero. Looks really good, nice lobby, free snacks. I would happily trade all that for a single competent mechanic. Brought the car in for a coolant leak. Paid a couple of grand. Drove off. Days later coolant was all over the ground. Took it back. Paid another couple grand. Took it home. Now I know what you're thinking. There's no way, NO WAY that they failed again. Wrong. Coolant everywhere. Their excuses ranged from weak to pathetic. Their attitude was increasingly aggressive as if their incompetence was somehow our fault. They claimed they replaced every hose after the second time. Yeah sure. When they handed it to me the third time I only got half a mile before the engine light came on. Brought it back. Was told " something wasn't tightened all the way. " So final score, four attempts over a couple of months at a cost of $8000. And here's the kicker. It's only been a couple of months and two days ago we smelled burning coolant. Reservoir is empty. Do not take your car here!!! I brought my BMW there because of the check engine light. They had it for 2 days and never called once. I finally called them to check on it and they told me the problem. I got the work done and $1100 dollars later and a week later the light comes on again. Took it back, once again they never called me with an update. Called them and told them I was coming to get my vehicle. I picked it up and drove to NOLA, popped the trunk and there were parts of my engine in the trunk. I truly hate this place. read more

I'm from Florida, but I stopped at German Auto while visiting my daughter in New Orleans. These guys are considered some of the best BMW repair experts in the South. And their prices are quite reasonable. My car was a special that most mechanics won't touch but these guys had no problems and quickly figured out what my car needed. Brian was friendly, nice to work with, and offered me a couple of alternatives for saving money. First, let me say Brian and his team are phenomenal. I heartily recommend German Auto for all your Euro car care needs. But honestly, all of that pales in comparison to the outstanding customer services these guys provide. I live in Maryland and was looking at a used Mini JCW in Baton Rouge. I wanted a local pre-purchase inspection done and called a highly ranked place I found on Google and Yelp. That place said they don't work on European cars, call German Auto. They are the experts. I'm so glad I did. It turns out they were the shop that did all of the maintenance work for this car's original owner and knew all of the service history. They were able to tell me about services done and more importantly about recommendations the previous owner hadn't done. They worked with the dealership to bring the car back to the shop for the PPI and were able to provide me with a much more comprehensive inspection based on their historic knowledge. It gets better. I wanted to do as much of this process remotely as possible. There was a fairly significant repair that needed to be done to safely drive the car back home. Brian worked with me and the dealership to take possession and begin the work before I flew down, saving time and eliminating stress. Without his guidance and help, I would not have bought the car. I went in for an oil change and came out with a new friend and some dry shampoo! Ladies, if you're looking for a mechanic that's a. Honest b. Knows what they're doing c. Has their wife involved to create a relaxing experience while you wait ....then Brian's German Auto is the place for you. The place was immaculate! It has comfortable seating, nice table for laptop (if you still need to work while you wait), and fast WiFi. There is a coffee station with all the fixings you want, and a plethora of drink options. Don't even get me started on the restroom....again super clean but also supplied with anything your feminine heart desires from tampons and wipes to perfume and dry shampoo! You always pay a little bit more for maintenance on a German car but here you actually feel like you get your money's worth and that these folks actually care about the time and money you're spending with them. 10/10 would recommend!!! read more

My guys at this local owned and operated shop are great, if they can repair they do and they back up there repairs. Also if they cant they are quick to say, "Mark this is a dealership repair" honest and forthright very hard to find in repair shops. I had a valve gasket leak that they repaired about 8 months ago. The new gasket failed no fault to German Auto but they honored the warranty and repaired again without cost to me. Kudos to them I am thankful for this great repair shop. Another thing they did was they keep me updated on the repairs via email which is very refreshing. I also listened to them talk to other customers that they could have easily got to spend thousands of dollars but advised them to not to put any more money into the car. These people forgot who they were. Clearly other indys in the area are putting them out of business. Used to bring all my BMWs to them. Never again. Customer service is absolute crap. Mechanics incompetent. Tried to charge me 3 grand for a service I did myself for less than $100. Don't know what changed but thanks for losing a longtime customer. read more
