I just finished with a claim where a Auto Owners Customer hit and damaged my vehicle. The Adjuster…read moresent me a text at 4pm on a Friday that my car was finished, and they were canceling the rental that day. I let him know I was over an hour away, and at work until 10pm. He said he would be nice, and extend it to Saturday, the best he could do. I called the shop, and they informed me they are closed on weekends, and I'd have to pick up my car on Monday. The Adjuster said all he would authorize was one more day, I had better make arrangements and have someone else pick up my car. Absolutely Outrageous!!! The stress I went thru was totally unnecessary, and unacceptable. I would not ever pay this Company for Insurance, and next time I will go thru my Insurance Company if I am ever in a situation like this again.

This is crap insurance!!! They may start off with lower premiums but they end up increasing it at…read morerenewal time. My car insurance increased by 40% at renewal time so I ended up switching to another company. I still have my homeowners insurance through Auto-Owners. In the 3 yrs. that I have been a customer, I filed 1 claim for hail damage to my roof. The claims adjuster returned my telephone calls 10% of the time. I was passed around to different adjusters. My claim was ultimately denied. Customer service constantly told me my claim was closed and that there was nothing else to do on the claim which I later learned was incorrect. That prompted me to file an appeal. My 10+ neighbors had their claim approved for hail damage to their roofs in a very timely manner. Several weather reports, specifically to my address, noted 1.25 hail. Yet, Auto-Owners continues to deny my claim. I am the ONLY one in my community that is still fighting with my insurance company. If you want to talk to the CEO or Regional Director, forget it! I sent a letter to the CEO and Regional Director regarding my complaint and received telephone calls from other people in the company. It is 10 months now and I am still dealing with Auto-Owners. I absolutely, positively would NOT recommend Auto-Owners!!

Firstly, I work in Insurance, so this is coming from someone who understands the business and how…read moreit should be run. After speaking to multiple agents in this office, we were told - by two separate people - to cancel our previous homeowners policy because we were approved through State Farm. Once cancelled, we received a redacted statement telling us our homeowners would not be enforced with State Farm (after we paid the first premium) due to us needing a new roof. Now, without homeowners and a one week deadline to find a roofer, get the estimate, and have the appointment on the books was ludacris. The office stated it was not one week, but I have the paperwork showing it. We had to call and ask for an extension, which took work. Since our homeowners was dropped by State Farm, the bank enforced a homeowners policy and broke our wallet. After multiple conversations with Leigh, who overtalked us or told us to let her finish talking, and even went as far as to say things we said were not true, we have gotten nowhere. We lost our bundle due to this error in the office, which caused the premiums to go up, but they keep telling us we received a discount for longer than we should have since we were not bundled anymore... well, we were no longer bundled because once the home approval came through, it was redacted. So where is the courtesy? We are still paying more than what we would have as a result of this office's error. Including STILL paying off the outrageous temporary homeowners the bank enforced due to this office's error in communication. There has been zero accountability in this office. The lack of honesty, execution, integrity, and respect to the consumer is unequivocal. When a sales manager tells you there is opportunity for her to coach her team because of miscommunication, yet still chooses not to do the right thing, it speaks volumes.

I needed homeowners insurance for a move to Lynchburg and Ian Maxwell got the job done quickly and…read moreefficiently. He was super nice to talk to and got me what I needed in no time. By the time our conversation was over, I felt like I had made a new friend! I've been with State Farm most of my life but have never felt like any more than just another client. Most agents I've talked to are impersonal over the phone and do what is required of them, but Ian was extremely personable and friendly and went above and beyond to make sure I had exactly what I needed. He even gave me some tips for things to do in the Lynchburg area, which being new to town I greatly appreciated. I would highly recommend Mallori and her team for any of your insurance needs and wish them much success going forward!
