They have wasted my time and money for almost a year without accomplishing anything. We wanted to complete our estate planning before our multiple trips this year, and this firm was recommended, so we decided to go with them. They may be a very reputable firm, but they don't do follow ups, and their time management is not up to par. I first contacted them on March 9th, 2023, and they informed me that they were busy, with the first available appointment on June 7th. Although it was four months away, we opted to keep the appointment because they were highly recommended. We assumed they would be ready for us by the appointment time, and all the work would begin after this initial meeting on June 7th, which cost us over $450 (a waste of our money). We met on June 7th and agreed to move forward with the firm. They mentioned it would take a few weeks (we were thinking maybe a month or two max), and they took a $3,000 retainer for the work. They were supposed to contact me to provide information about which portal to use for uploading my documents, but I never heard back. So, I had to contact them again on June 16th to get the necessary information. After June 16th, we did not hear back with any updates. I sent an email on July 27th to inquire about the progress and received the following response: "Thank you for sending the information. Your file is with my paralegal, and she will work on the documents when they reach the top of her stack. It will likely still be several weeks. Thanks for your patience, and we haven't forgotten about you!" By this time, it was already around 7 weeks, so we are asked to wait longer. We did not hear anything again until I was ready to leave town in September. I sent them an email on September 15th, demanding a progress update and stating that if there was no progress by the time I returned on October 5th, I would require our $3,000 back, minus the initial meeting fee. I received the following response: "Completely understandable. As you can see, we are very busy, and we work on our clients' files in the order received. It doesn't appear that we will be able to meet your timeline. I will have my bookkeeper cut a check to return the retainer, less the initial meeting fee." By this time, it was over 14 weeks that we had waited and they have not even done anything with our file. I must say that in this case, they did follow up and returned the money, minus the meeting fee, by the time I returned from my trip on Oct 5th.  (Although I suggested for them to deduct the initial meeting fee and return the rest of the money, I would have thought that they would try to do good by their customers and would be returning the entire $3k due to the fact that they failed to provide the service all together. but oh well) In conclusion, if you deal with them, make sure to get them to provide you with an exact date for each milestone, and check if it aligns with your timeline. I wasted most of this year, and now I will be looking for a new firm.
