I found Buckley on Yelp and saw the raving reviews from his clients so my wife and I decided to call and inquiry about selling our Charlotte (University City area) home since we had heard the market was very hot. Buckley showed up later that evening to discuss our plans. We appreciated his realistic no nonsense approach and decided to list with him. He laid out a detailed plan for us on what needed to be done and what expectations we should have. A little over a week later our house was on the market. We received 4 offers the first day and appreciated Buckley's guidance in choosing the correct offer to go with. It appears they use rentals as a leader, and the main focus is sales, not rentals. I was also told they cannot do property managing under the Century 21 banner and have to use other sources for ads. They said they only wanted to post vacant house pictures, but when I asked why they had a $5,500 a month with pictures, I was told it was on the mls, and I said so what? You don't treat all listing the same? I was going out of town for a week and vacated the house. They said they would take new pics and post, also have a cleaning service come in the have the house ready for rent. When I returned, I found they moved their office future away, no new pics posted, only the ones I supplied (furnished) and the house was not cleaned. The next morning I sent Kate a email to call me with no response. I waited until 5 to 5 then sent a email to cancel and terminate the contract. Later that evening I got 2 inquiries on the house? I sent Wendy a email as to why they came to me. She replied that because we wanted to terminate the contract that maybe we would follow up on them. I replied that they were from their ads and they should get first shot for the rental, never heard back. When I went to get the keys, they were at the front desk with the terminating notice. You would think they would have tried to save their reputation, but as I see I am not the only one. Like I said, they are only interested in sales, not rentals.
