On the evening of 9/5/2025 at approximately 8:50 PM, my children and I (ages 26 and 10) visited…read moreFine Wine & Good Spirits located at 3159 Cape Horn Road, Red Lion, PA 17356. Upon entering, we were not greeted at the door, nor were we asked if we needed assistance. I went to the scratch-off machine to the left of the store. My oldest daughter (age 26) began looking for a bottle of wine I had asked her to find for a colleague's party, while her 10-year-old sister walked beside her, staying within sight and reach. While I was at the machine, I was approached by Sue (cashier), who questioned me about the ages of my children. I explained their ages and asked if there was a problem. Sue stated that children must remain with a guardian. I clarified that my 26-year-old is an adult. Sue insisted that it must be a guardian. I then asked whether it would be an issue if the 10-year-old entered with her grandmother instead. Sue responded that this would be acceptable, since a grandmother is a guardian. I pointed out that a grandmother is not a guardian by law, but rather just another adult. I asked Sue if the store verified by checking Birth Certificates. I also asked if she had access to the store's written policy. She was unable to provide the policy. When I went to the corner of the store to grab a pen, I noticed the manager Diane sitting in an office area , near the cahier, behind a glass window (open at the top). She was observing the situation but kept her head down, showing no interest in addressing what was happening. I was able to confirm her name through Sue. Additional concerns to note: 1. My 10-year-old daughter was carrying one bag from the Dollar Tree next door. 2. Sue stood at the end of the aisle watching closely, which made my children, especially my younger daughter, feel uncomfortable. 3. I observed Sue greet a white male customer upon arrival. After he checked out, I asked Sue why she did not question or verify his age. She replied, "He is a regular here." I asked how she would know if I came in on her day off. Again, she failed to provide an adequate answer. In summary: We were harassed by Sue under the observation of Manager Diane and another unidentified employee. I have filed a formal complaint and submitted documentation (including audio) to the appropriate personnel for review. I strongly recommend avoiding this location. It is not worth your time or your hard-earned money. The Shrewsbury location, however, is excellent!
