Ocean Edge Resort - Best Place To Curl Up With A Good Book

Lawn games include frisbee, horseshoes, giant Jenga, croquet, volleyball, badminton, cornhole, and so much more. Guests can enjoy lite bites and drinks from ordering at the kitchen shed. Pizza is prepared at an outdoor oven. I ordered the 10" hand tossed Fig and Prosciutto pizza ($18.00) and half a bottle of Whispering Angel rosé ($18.00). The pizza had sliced fig, shaved prosciutto, honey ricotta, garlic olive oil, and baby arugula. It was very tasty. It took about 15 minutes for the pizza to be ready. The rosé was poured into a plastic cup. The staff members were very friendly. I really adored my time on The Front Lawn on a weekday evening. When we arrived about 5:30pm, it wasn't too crowded yet but as it got later in the evening, groups of people started to appear. We relished our food and drink and played some lawn games. It was so nice to be outside and take in the fresh air. The Front Lawn is a great spot for families and offers a relaxed, open-air atmosphere. There are even staff members to teach guests how to play games or there if you need an extra player.

Wequassett has been for many years among the best properties I go to in the US (or internationally…read morefor that matter). Every single time we visited, the service has been impeccable and I find it hard to think about any other resort that can get even close to Wequassett. The grounds are perfectly kept and the rooms have been recently renovated. And although, there's a trend even with classic high-end resorts (St. Regis, J.W., Ritz-Carlton) to make their renovations a little too modern for my taste, Wequassett successfully kept their old school charm. We always stay at their Signature Water View King rooms (and book well in advance as there's only a few of these) so I can't speak of other room types. The amenities are flawless and even though the main pool gets VERY crowded during summer weekends, the pool attendant always found 2 chairs for us. My only recommendation for this property is to have a backup plan for the main pool. Perhaps installing a deck and adding some more chairs there to accommodate more guests that prefer the beach vs. the pool.

In Sweet Pea, the house Cleaning people were a little bit weird but they did keep things immaculate in the space. And Mother Goose there seem to be never ending problems with the house so we often had somebody fixing the air conditioner. Somebody fixing the upstairs toilet and somebody fixing whatever else was not working around the place. It didn't feel great to have maintenance people around as you're getting your hair and makeup done for a wedding. Did not feel chill bridal time at all. They speak very highly of their food, but they didn't have anything off of their menu that really impressed me. I tried the fresh cod, scallops, apple dessert, and Wagyu steak. Brandon and Angel are a total headache to deal with. We requested to have the gym open early for the day of my cousins wedding. Angel said yes to having the gym opened at 4:45am in the morning before the wedding. I was there waiting -Didn't happen. This pushed back my whole schedule on the wedding day. We asked to pay for the Mother Goose house as a wedding gift to the bride and groom - also didn't happen. I had to discuss the issue with Brandon. No discount no offers of any kind- mind you 3 nights is about 10K. Not cool at all. The wedding planner also seemed to have no idea what was going on with decisions, when speeches were going to be and where to set up the podium for the efficient. The main staff you speak with don't really seem to care and frankly just aren't the type of service you look for in a luxury resort . I'm an extensive traveler and would strongly recommend not to revisit this place. We also got coffee at Sill and couldn't find any place to sit down to drink our coffee and have a pastry. We even asked the host where we could sit and it was outside on wet chairs or in the lobby. The dining room was totally empty and asked if we could sit there and was denied. Also there isn't enough parking for guests. The working driving around on golf carts talking on their cell phones also felt a little scary. The Wequassett staff made a bad atmosphere for the guests paying a lot of money. It felt very unfair between the gym not being open on time to the disorganization of the wedding timeline to getting the bills confused.

I'd also add that I've never in all my years stayed at such an immaculate inn. The bedding was exceptional and after composing this review I will make my way over to the Sonoma Wool Company website (what Amy does in her spare time-LOL) to order the luxurious wool pillows we were lucky enough to sleep on. Breakfast is a delicious daily treat, which we were fortunate enough to have each morning poolside, amid the gorgeous gardens on the inn's grounds.

The bedroom features an oversized California King bed, a desk and chair, television and lounge chair with ottoman. Beautiful French double doors lead to one of the loveliest features of the room which is a private deck with chairs. The living room has a delightful fireplace, comfortable sofa and another television. There is also a tastefuly done little kitchenette which was stocked with dishes and glassware as well as a mini fridge. And off the living room is the attractive bathroom stocked with toiletries and comfortable robes. Right outside our room was a Flavia coffee and tea maker as well as another refrigerator with complimentary creamer, soda and bottled water. The table in our bedroom also had a complimentary decanter of sherry and two scrumptious chocolate truffles were left on our pillows each evening. Although most of the inn's rooms are in a separate building a few steps away, breakfast is served each morning in the main house and in the company of Harrison, the inn's resident and well behaved Labradoodle. An afternoon sweet treat of cake or cookies is also provided in the main house and there's always a bowl of chocolates if you need a sweet to tide you over. We had the bad luck to not have the inn-keepers, Donna and Byron, in residence during most of our stay as they'd suffered a death in the family and were out of state. However, they'd left clear instruction with their staff about our arrival and we were warmly greeted and welcomed. During our stay, the staff was quick to answer questions about the area and to provide restaurant recommendations. The room itself also contained a lot of information about local attractions and restaurants. The night before our last day we came back to our room to find a complimentary bottle of champagne and note from the innkeepers with their sincere regrets for having been away during our stay. That was a very nice touch and was greatly appreciated. On the down side, we actually didn't think much of the breakfasts as they were largely flavorless and frequently included microwaved bacon. We wondered if the food suffered due to Donna's absence because she was billed as the cook. Both Donna and Byron were back on our last morning and it was Donna who prepared our breakfast that day. The food did improve under her stewardship but we'd still say it compared poorly to other B&B's we've visited. Our room, though lovely, did have some oddities. All the plumbing fixtures were installed backwards so that all handles turned in an atypical direction and the shower pipe was loose which restricted some of the water pressure. The impression was that the work had not been professionally done. In the bedroom, the bed was oddly situated with one side far too close to the wall despite more than ample room on the other side. It made it uncomfortable for the person sleeping on that side to get in and out of bed. Finally, we do have somewhat of a pet peeve with inn-keepers who advertise suites, which should be two separate rooms divided by a door, even though the room does not meet that criteria. In this case, the only separation between the bedroom and living room was a screen. Nevertheless, the inn was quite nice and Donna and Byron were charming hosts who had trained their staff well. Brewster is located mid-Cape and convenient for day trips to Hyannis and Provincetown which makes this a good choice for a place to stay and there are some lovely beaches right by the inn. Overall we enjoyed our stay on Cape Cod very much.

Comfortable, clean, charming, and all in a great location. The Inn staff were extremely kind and accommodating. They explained everything we would need to know and were easy to communicate with via text. When you walk into your room, you are welcomed with a personalized card and box of chocolates from a local chocolate shop (it's really good chocolate too). The breakfast every morning was in 3 courses: a bundt cake, a fruit, and then the entree. They were very accommodating with my husband's food allergies. They tend to stay away from nuts in their dishes. Rooms were freshened up every day. The Inn is a great location to be in- there are many things to do in the area. Easy drive to Provincetown, Brewster, Coast Guard Beach, and Nauset Light House (the Cape Cod chips lighthouse haha). About an hour to get to Falmouth if you wanna go to Martha's Vineyard. We enjoyed that hour ride to go through different towns. I would 100% recommend this Inn to anyone coming to Cape Cod!
