Dive local place. Serves only beer, but at a decent price and reasonable selection. Low key crowd.

I tried Aubrey's in Oak Ridge back in '22, and I have to admit I was not impressed. The food was…read moreacceptable and the service was good, but I did not care for the beverage options. As a diabetic, I avoid sugary soda, etc so I asked what my options were and was told it was Diet Coke. I find Diet Coca Cola to be vile, even among diet sodas, so that was a no go. Many local restaurants have begun offering Coke Zero, a much more palatable alternative, but not them. I settled for iced tea. The tea was not great, as is often the case, so I told them I'd likely come more frequently if they improved their beverages. All that being said, I recently tried again and found that they do now carry Coke Zero. And the meal was excellent (maybe because I wasn't disappointed in the soda, maybe it just improved). Regardless, of why, I can now say it was an excellent experience, either way the dinner rolls being a standout in my memory. I shall not wait three and a half years to return.

Aubrey's is almost always packed, which makes it seem like a standout spot in our small town. After…read morevisiting a few times, though, I've found it to be... pretty average. They do offer outdoor seating, which is nice, although I'm not sure yet if it's dog-friendly--something I'll have to check out next time. We usually sit at the bar, and one thing I've learned is that you need to be very specific with your drink order if you have preferences. For example, if you order a dirty martini without clarification, be prepared for a glass that tastes almost entirely like olive brine. Asking for "light" on the olive juice is a must. Even a standard vodka martini doesn't automatically come with a lemon twist, which feels like a small but noticeable miss. Service has consistently been solid--friendly and attentive, about what you'd expect. The food, however, has been hit or miss. I tried the FGTs twice, hoping the first experience was just an off night, but they still weren't memorable enough to order again. The steak tips appetizer has been the one standout for us--really flavorful--but if you're planning on ordering a steak entrée, doubling up on steak feels a bit redundant. The salads that come with the meals are reliably good, and the steaks themselves are decent, especially with the loaded baked potato on the side. That said, I ordered a fish dish on one visit that was forgettable enough that I can't even recall exactly what it was--just that I wouldn't order it again. Overall, Aubrey's is perfectly fine, but it hasn't wowed me. At this price point, I think there are better options around town. We might stop back in from time to time if we're in the mood for something different.

This is a long overdue review - we've been eating here since they opened and it's our favorite…read morelocal southern Mexican food place. It's in a little building between Clinton and Oak Ridge and the staff is the absolute friendliest group ever. It's a smaller restaurant so it might be packed some days and a little quieter others. Clinton has no shortage of options when it comes to Mexican restaurants and everyone seems to have their favorite and that's totally fine but this place stands out to me and I'll tell you why. Everything I've ever ordered there seems to have better and more dynamic flavor than other places. My favorite dish is fajitas or grilled chicken but this place has me switching up my order to try things I otherwise would not because literally everything I've ever gotten here is amazing. There are certainly staples you'll find at other places but they have a great carne asada steak, the grilled chicken is amazing. Even the shredded chicken is legit. This trip we got a kids cheese quesadilla with rice and beans, a kids ACP, and I got cheese enchiladas with grilled chicken on top. I loved my enchiladas but had no problem tasting the rest of the families items because it was all so good. If you like spicy make sure and ask for some of their homemade hot salsa it's really good. They also have frosted glasses for cold draft beer both domestic and imported. 10/10 - I'd go back anytime.

There was so much water in the 'taco bowl' it amounted to ~ 1/3 cup. Waiter says the water is from the lettuce. Unreal. Lettuce does not have that much moisture. I say the chicken is kept in water until ready to serve and that is where the moisture is coming from, and as result, the chicken is bland and tasteless. 2nd order, cheese enchilada: horrible sauce, tasted like corn starch, beef broth, and sugar. Bean burrito had a mild red sauce according to the waitress; however, the sauce was a disgusting amaretto sauce, far from Roja. Chalupa was not a chalupa but rather a tostada. I will give credit: lettuce was not wilted or brown, tomato was not rotten. Overall, would not return. Not even close to being Mexican food, and not even close to being tex-mex food.

The young lady then rushed outside and apoligised for not seeing us sat there. Service and the food were both very good after we spoke. There are a couple of downsides however: 1. There is no dog bowls or water easily availible for the dog. 2. The seats are starting to tear and give way. 3. The table was not wiped down recently. 4. It seems to double as a smoking area. Menu selections trend towards deep fried foods a lot. The selection of craft beers is extremely limited but the usual cheap "Lite" swill is plentiful. The patio is large and well laid out, it could be a lot better run.

I've tried several things on the menu, and the wings were about the only things that kept me coming back. The garlic knots were inedible, our meals have been lukewarm, they don't have stuff consistently, and the last time we were in, I got an eye roll from the bartender when I asked for something. Yeah - sealed the deal - that was the straw - done. Bye Bye - adios. We finally went to Buffalo Mountain Grill, which has a similar vibe, and we will not be coming back here.
