On top of that which should be enough, the accommodations are luxurious, elegant, and beautiful, and the dining room is a foodie's delight for breakfast lunch or dinner. Plus they have a great wine list and great cocktails. I don't think there is anywhere else like it anywhere. Also fwiw- one past reviewer mentioned the Chihuly "inspired" glass sculptures. Honey, those are genuine Chihuly originals and they are sprinkled throughout the property. Great Art is part of the back story of The Horse Shoe Farm.

I will get the bragging out of the way Hole #8 149 Yards - 8 Iron was the weapon of choice I must admit it wasn't a beautiful shot but effective. I actually topped the ball slightly a quick trip to the front side of the green a few bounces 1 - 2 - 3 in the hole. This would be a memorable course without the above mentioned. The course provides everything you want in a mountain course plenty of elevation changes of course a very scenic back scape and a lots of challenges. You would be well advised to manage the course don't let the wide open feeling fool you there are some tight fairways that are very deceiving so pick your shots carefully and enjoy a great venue. The staff is extremely friending and outgoing, The pro shop is adequate and the cocktails are poured generously in the club house. You know I will be back and I can assure you this experience won't disappoint you.

Some very quirky holes...a number with blind tee shots. Fairways were in very poor condition, although greens were in good shape. My rating of two stars reflects my opinion of what you pay for what you get, compared to other courses.

The 50s-style diner opens early for breakfast and switches to the lunch menu at 11am. Justus Pharmacy occupied the building from 1890 to 1993. Then the building was renovated to Mike's on Main. I loved that it still has the pharmacy feel, and that they kept the Apothecary neon sign out front, the 1890's ceiling, the 1920s mosaic floor tile, the 1930's fountain bar with bar stools, a juke box, old cash registers, a vintage "Drugs & Lunch" sign in the back, and apothecary bottles. Outside the building is a Coca-Cola mural painted in 1905. It's amazing to think that author Thomas Wolfe used to hang out at this very soda fountain back in the day! I arrived right around 11:00 AM while the breakfast menus were still out. Although the Eggs Benedict looked highly tempting, I ultimately went with the egg salad on toasted sourdough. It was a generous portion, topped with fresh lettuce and tomato, served with a bag of chips and a pickle. You could immediately tell the egg salad was completely homemade and fresh. I also treated myself to an old-fashioned ice cream soda with chocolate ice cream, which was absolutely delicious! I enjoyed my lunch immensely, and the lively, retro atmosphere made it even more fun. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, even taking extra care to make sure I noticed all the historical decor spread throughout the space. I already look forward to my next visit!
