I stop by here most days, for a latte and sit outside and watch the world go by, it's a great people watching area.
The coffee is great in any Cafe Brera, the Cabot Square location is far more busier and the food looks great. This location though is not up to standard. Looking around, the place is filthy behind the scenes, with a huge fly problem today. The food on display looks sad and I would never want to buy one of these. The floor also looks really dirty, but I think that is just the floor that is down, but appearance is important.
Somedays they have a ton of staff and other days there are just 2 and a long queues and its usually only one serving and the other person doing nothing but opening tins of food. When you get a full compliment of staff in they don't seem to co'ordinate with each other like the Cabot Square, making the service sloppy and slow.
One day I was in this place, the Manageress, was clearly frustrated on the telephone with someone. When she finally got off the fone, she screamed at the top of her voice " My god, I have children for employess"...... Ok, lady, take your frustrations elsewhere and concentrate on getting your place running like the rest of the Cafe Brera. I felt very sorry for the employees about this.
The tables outside whilst they are great to have, they don't seem to get cleared very often and they never get wiped down when they clear them, is this not a basic best practice......
So, in summary...... Great location, good coffee but they could be a thriving little gold mine if they get the right people in place. I bet Starbucks would snap that place up if they had a chance, but I don't like giving Starbucks my money and their coffee is awful..... read more
