My lease is almost over, so I'm going to explain all of the pros and cons of living at Hanover at…read moreClearfork. I chose the C (1 bed/1 bath) floorplan, and I pay $1900 a month (this includes the amenity fee, internet, & water cost, but does not include electricity). From my experience, the C floorplan was designed for a man who lives alone that rarely cooks. The kitchen is TINY with little storage space. The kitchen drawers are smaller than standard drawers, so it took me forever to find a suitable organizer for my silverware. The closet is also poorly designed, with little to no space if you have an average amount of clothes. In the bathroom, there is only one outlet; I would prefer more since I am a girl who does her hair with hot tools, or to put a wallflower in the wall, stuff like that. Throughout the apartment, the walls are extremely thin, I could hear my upstairs neighbor constantly, but I was also able to hear my next door neighbor's TV every single time they would watch anything. This reminded me of living in a college dorm with paper thin walls. It isn't very "luxurious" feeling.
Additionally, I have had a handful of negative experiences with the leasing people here, so they treat me badly. There have been an abundance of instances where I have seen employees wave and say hello to residents as they walk by, but when I walk by, I am ignored and given glares lol. This place has a revolving door of different people working in the leasing office like every month because people keep getting fired and they rehire new people. They are doing this because of the consistent bad reviews relating to the lack of kindness/customer service from their employees. Currently, Evelyn has been the only kind employee to me. Sonya and Kawanda always talk to me as if I am a nuisance; I have yet to speak to the two newer girls, so I have no opinion on them.
Something else super annoying is that the leasing office will call my cell phone sometimes, I'll miss the call, so obviously I will call back later, and when I call back, they don't answer, or I am transferred to their offsite call center which is just useless.
I live on the second floor of building two, and every single time I either leave my apartment, or come home, the hallway smells very bad. The smell ranges from a gross dog poop smell to a potent marijuana smell, it's just kinda nasty.
Something that I absolutely HATE about this apartment complex is the lack of trash chutes/valet trash service. Providing some kind of valet trash service (or trash chute) is standard at almost every single apartment complex in Fort Worth, which is why it is absolutely mind-boggling to me that Hanover at Clearfork has not done something about this yet. At the Hanover, to dispose of your trash, you have to take it outside to the one trash compactor on the property. Keep in mind, this property kinda big, which forces residents to walk pretty long distances in order to dispose of their trash. There have been multiple instances where I have seen people put trash in their cars, and drive it over to the trash compactor, because that's how far away it is. In the lease I signed, it says that trash chutes on every floor are provided, which is untrue, so beware.
If you ARE planning on living here, I recommend building 2 because it is the closest to the trash compactor, the mail room, and the pool. It has the best location out of all of the other buildings in my opinion (keep in mind what I said earlier about the nasty smells though lmao).
There is also a lack of guest parking. In front of the complex, there are maybe like 20 spots for guests. One time, I had a sleepover with my friend and the guest parking was full, so I let her park her car behind the gate. The next morning, I received an aggressive email stating that they will begin towing and booting vehicles that are parked behind the gate without a parking pass. It's just so weird to me that the person who designed this place did not account for guest parking. I have friends that live at the Berkeley, as well as The Elm at River Park, and both of those complexes provide an abundance of guest parking, why doesn't Hanover provide the same? Even The George (Also a Hanover property) has a level of their parking garage reserved for guests.
Since my lease ends soon, they sent me my renewal package, and they are INCREASING the rent. It's so crazy to me that rent is increasing while there are so many issues with this place. I literally had a conversation with the girl who lives in the apartment across from me, and she said that she is super excited to move away from this place as well.
Anyway, I hated living here and will be moving in August, so I suggest not signing a lease here if you're expecting luxury. The property itself is fine, but the price is just way too much and not worth it at all.
