If I could give this law office zero stars I would, in seeking representation in a custody matter,…read moreI looked up an attorney recommended to me who I will not name and who is unaffiliated with Reitz Law Offices. As sometimes happens, the phone number Google had listed was not the attorney I was intending to reach, so inadvertently, I'd dialed a wrong number, I was expecting to be greeted when the phone was picked up by a legal assistant or secretary, naming the firm, naming themselves, and asking how they could be of service, I was instead greeted by a man who simply said, "Hello?" I was confused, and thought perhaps I had called the wrong number, or someone's personal cell phone, but I asked to speak to the attorney I was trying to reach and the "gentleman" on the other end of the line said, "No one by that name works here," and I said, "Oh ... is this a law office?", again just trying to discern whether I had the wrong number, and there was a long pause and then the man said, "I'm an attorney." I proceeded to ask his name, completely confused. He didn't respond, just sat there on the line, I then said, "Hello?" and there was another long pause and he said, "I'm here." At this point I knew there was no way - regardless of whether it was an attorney who could have been of assistance - that I would retain someone so unprofessional. Within a few minutes of ending the call, he had given my number to a strange woman based out of Kansas City, KS area code 913, who calls and begins interrogating me, "What are you doing meddling around? Why are you calling and asking questions about - insert name - ?" My response, again completely confused by the call was, "I don't know anyone by that name, what are you talking about?" She then mentions another name and accuses me of calling to ask "weird questions" about them. I again said I had no idea who either of those individuals were, or what she was talking about. She was very cryptic and strange and speaking very slowly as though under some influence. I told her I would be getting off the phone with her, as I knew nothing of which she spoke. She then tried to walk back this TRULY bizarre and erratic behavior, and I ended the call. I have filed a report with the BBB, and am now filing a report with LPD.
