I hosted my 21st birthday at this place and it was INCREDIBLE. Everything, from the planning, to…read morethe payment, to the accommodations, to the actual painting session-- it was handled so professionally and yet it still felt so personal, I couldn't have asked for a better experience, especially because I had a lot of issues settling on a date. Kate was the person who handled this specific interaction and I'm not sure if that is always the case, but she is such an easygoing person and was so understanding and patient during our communication, and when everyone showed up to get started painting everything was already set up and the environment was so relaxed that it was impossible NOT to have a good time! Kate guided me to choosing a painting for my party that would fit within the time limits, and the options are nearly limitless so there is definitely something for everyone! Even the boys had a good time! Again, Kate is so relaxed and patient that painters of all levels were very comfortable and she was very helpful in answering any questions! Good to know: they do have adult beverages as well as sodas and water available for purchase! All supplies, including aprons, are included in the price of participating! They fill up quick so I was thinking no way they'd accommodate last minute-- but wow, they did! I was thrilled and it meant so much. Our main instructor was Logan and Mallory was also there to guide us. They were funny, personable, and kind. I'm extremely shy, so it was surprising for my family to see me making jokes and being involved. The energy there just makes you feel comfortable to be yourself. They really talk to you as a good friend; they even remembered everyone's names and seemed interested in each person. (I kept mentioning how hungry I was because I had a busy day-- Logan had a pop tart and offered it to me, lol! It's things like that that make me smile :) As for the pottery making itself, it was so informative but also fun. They made me feel relaxed so I could dive in and give it a shot without messing up. I get nervous doing things like this because I get stressed from work and academics-- I don't want to worry about "messing up" when having fun. They made sure everyone knew that any accident can easily be fixed or accommodated. LONG NAILS: I usually have very long nails. In the photo I have about the Long (L) length currently. Usually it's between M and L. They had accommodations for this and taught alternate methods when needed and it caused no issues. Awesomeeee!! The Lyndon House and Art gallery is a unique and lovely wedding venue. My one complaint was with communication. When trying to reach the staff in the months prior to the wedding several times we found their voicemail boxes full. The night of the wedding the on site staff was a bit snarky in their communication and clearly did not understand that we were their customer. If the venue staff has improved in this one area then the Lyndon House would be perfect!

We came here for a temporary exhibit of the Southern Pastel Society. It appeared that the OCAF may…read morehave at least 2 buildings in this campus, but we only visited the exhibit hall. It appears to be a former school auditorium. There is plenty of parking, but it was hard to see initially. We entered via 3rd Street and drove by a baseball field. The OCAF is on a rise about 5 - 8 feet above the level of the road, so you can't really see its closest parking lot until you walk or drive up. I moved the car closer after I realized there was a parking lot up there. You enter past the office and along a hallway of displays of pottery / art for sale. There is also a table with historical objects from the building's school history. The exhibit space was at the end of the hall in the former auditorium. It was laid out as you might expect, with works displayed around the perimeter walls and on some freestanding wall segments in the center of the space. This exhibit was nice, but as I said it was temporary. I assume they rotate other exhibits through the space. This was within a 15-minute drive of Athens, so if you are in that area it is easy to check this place out. We drove out from Atlanta and stopped a a few places on the route, but if you drove straight through it would probably take at least 90 minutes to get here. Depending on what they have on display this is worth a stop.

She really cares for her babies. The baby's are allowed to play and get a lot of floor time. I get pictures all the time and I have no reservations about leaving my g baby there.

As daycares go, this one falls into not the top category (McPhaul's etc) nor into the bottom…read morecategory (I don't know ...) but kind of a middle category. Here are the problems: The principal and corporate management have a set of policies, but the teachers do NOT follow them always. Eg my baby was supposed to have her own crib and it's been 3 weeks - she still doesn't have one. They keep putting her in one used by other babies. We're paying a f/t rate but we cant get what was promised us when we arrived. The teacher is beginning to dislike having me around because I keep wanting to hold them to just the minimum policies they claim to have. When I go, I generally find a couple of babies crying for attention, and they do not have the time to get to them. Today a 2-month old cried for milk for a while, the teacher put a pacifier in her mouth, and attended to other babies. They NEED more teachers than the absolute minimum 1:6. I've seen babies go for long periods without having their snot wiped. I've watched the teachers for a few teachers and very very rarely do they get a chance for any quality play time. Well let alone play time, the babies are lucky if the teachers get to feed them before a certain period of time has passed. I get sad every time I drop my baby off. But if you can't afford the top, this will do. They're not as terrible as some, but the teachers' performance doesn't match what the principal claims or what the corporate organization's rules are. They told me they do fun things with the babies but I havent seen it, except a very very rare occasion. The teacher in the baby room sometimes gets so stressed out she loses it a bit. The policy is to have no toddlers in there - and they keep going in, because the toddler teachers sometimes send in younger toddlers. The toddlers are big, active, and take up the teachers' attention away from the babies. The teacher even kept her 3-4 year old in there all day one day. He threw a tantrum, fussed, and she yelled at him for a long time --- all the while neglecting the babies. As soon as I have an income, I hope to move my baby up to Kids r Kids or something better. I have to talk to them every day about something or the other, and I'm sick of it. BTW they don't keep sick babies away. Several of the staff are pretty rude or curt. the principal doesn't communicate properly with her staff. Often I go in and they dont have enough people in the room. Sometimes I have to stay for 15-20 minutes at a time because they dont have time to watch my baby. Then they start giving me outright hints that I need to leave. I've also found that my baby on her return home is starving. They claim she refuses to eat. If she's there for 6 hours, and you HAVE tried to feed her more than once, there's no way she'll refuse if she is hungry - and she IS hungry at that point. One day she spent 6 hours there - and had only 2 oz of formula and 2 jars of food. She's a baby with a big appetite. She was starving when she returned. It broke my heart. Keep in mind, this review is about the baby category. Since I dont have a toddler, I cant say about them. But I have seen the teachers speak harshly and roughly to the toddlers. I wouldnt put my kid here if I could afford better.
