Because this is their first review I'm going to try and be constructive with my criticism. Brekky Art is new to the area and under new management.
1. The food isn't very good. I've been there a couple times for breakfast, and the eggs were never done very well. Poached eggs were undercooked, and the scrambled was a little rubbery and no matter how much salt and pepper I piled on, it tasted kind of bland. Presentation could also be improved a lot. I was also sold a breakfast 'deal' with eggs on toast with coffee which consisted of two poached eggs on a piece of toast with a tiny pile of spinach on the side. They didn't try and up-sell me on any other sides, which I probably would have accepted had they recommended it.
2. The coffee isn't very good. I'm no expert, but it left me disappointed.
3. The vibe of the place isn't that great. Previously the place was kitted out with old wooden furniture and felt like a rustic, authentic corner cafe. Now they've replaced everything with IKEA furniture with chrome trims, it feels a bit soulless. Not to mention the music they play (general 90's and disco, in my experience).
Overall, I can't recommend Brekky Art considering there are numerous and better places a short walk up or down South Dowling. If they improve in all these areas, I might go back. No hard feelings I hope and good luck Brekky Art! read more
