Like the previous reviewer, I also came to Marque Foods (IFI Gourmet) to stock my wedding dessert…read moretable up with little treats, and it was completely worth it! Sure, if you have any pastry snobs attending your party, you may want to satisfy their "sophisticated" palate and/or shut them up by catering your sweets from a local famous bakery or something, but my wedding attendees all loved the sweets and would have had no idea that they weren't "catered." In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if you or I have eaten some of their offerings at local bakeries, restaurants, or catered events because they not only sell fully prepared desserts, but also unfilled cream puffs, tart shells, chocolate decorations, flavoring pastes, and other base ingredients! Therefore if you enjoy baking and want to get some specialty ingredients (glazes! fondants! sugar flowers!) as well as normal baking ingredients that surpass the quality of the average grocery store versions, here's where you want to go. Can you imagine showing up to a friend's birthday party with a homemade cake, filled with mousse, and topped with chocolate batons and shavings? Showstopping. The building is unassuming; located in a business park in the industrial food service districts near the Biotech zone of South San Francisco. You can check out their catalog online (ifigourmet is their parent site's name) but you have to order by phone or email. The only catch is, as a wholesaler, they will not sell to you unless you have some sort of business/tax ID to present them with. It doesn't have to be a catering/food service related business, mind you. As long as it's a business (I used my company's tax ID, with their permission) you are allowed to place an order. Then you schedule a time to pick up your goodies. There's no showroom for you to browse, so you just have to go with whatever you see in the catalog. In addition to buying sweets for the wedding, I also bought a case of vanilla macarons for myself, just to, you know, see the quality ;) Yes, I ate them all within a month.

WEDDING REVIEW I'm…read moreso lucky to have found this place. I was on the hunt for competitvely priced mini desserts for my dessert table. Because this is wholesale only and they cater to mostly pastry chefs, I couldn't do a tasting. So my mom decided to "test the waters" and order French Macarons and Petit Fours mini pastries for my engagement party. To my surprise, the macarons were very good. There were four flavors: Chocolate, Vanilla, Raspberry and Pistachio. There was an assortment of mini, bite size pastries like hazlenut cream puff and and a classic Opera torte. Some of these desserts tasted better than others. And some of these desserts did not keep their consistency very well. For this reason, I didn't order the petit fours for my wedding day. I did order 360 macarons in 6 flavors and there weren't any left over at the end of the night! You can pick it up yourself at their location M-F. However, they do offer free delivery on orders $100 or more, but not to residences and they could only deliver to my location on Wednesday. If I host another party one of these days, I would love to try out their frozen desserts. It is a really yummy looking assortment. You will not find a better deal on macarons. I will totally share "my little secret" and recommend Marque Foods to any wedding or party planning needs!

The Lighthouse is bright, airy and warm all at the same time. I visited the cafe on a Friday…read moremorning right before 9 am, and the space was still fairly empty. There were plenty of tables by the windows looking out at the willow trees and I was happy to snag a spot in the sun. Even though the parking lot right outside was full, there were plenty of spaces in the big lot across the street. I will note that the large lot was completely full by the time I left at 11 am though. I ordered an iced chai latte with oatmilk ($7 after tax) and I thought it was so sweet that the server brought my drink when it was ready. I also appreciate when cafes don't charge extra for alternative milks. The WiFi was fast and easy to connect to, with no password like other folks mentioned. Although the drink was nothing extraordinary, I was happy to have such a pleasant space to work in. I would definitely come back to do remote work if I ever needed a space that is reliable and comfortable.

Parking is quite limited but there is a huge parking lot across that's free. The restroom for women was very clean and beautiful. The doors for the restroom were fully closed with no space for somebody to take a peek. They also have a basket full of free tampons and pads (even pads meant for a heavy period), which was very thoughtful of them to add! There's also a lot of seats so you don't have to worry about that. Most tables came with a plug in on the floor but I found that the tables near the big window didn't have one. Maybe it was just mine though. I ordered a hot chocolate w almond milk and 2 shots which came out to be $10.16. It tasted very standard and not good at all. I don't think it's worth the price since the drink was very mediocre. Service is great though! It started to get busy around 11pm for their lunch menu I believe. There's one area meant for a large group of people to dine. It'd be a great space for meetings or just a large gathering. I think I also saw a table at the back near the restrooms that can be used but I'm not too sure. Overall, good studying place with its amazing natural lighting and pretty weeping willows to look at!

Yo Hookt! I'm mad at y'all! I came to the Sparkt food trucks looking for you and you weren't there?…read moreWhy'd you leave!? I almost cried. I've scoured the Bay Area for mini donuts and Hookt are the best. The flavors! The hot, melt in your mouth texture! I'd tear up a whole box. I'm sad. I want more mini donuts but I don't want to drive from the east bay to south San Francisco. Please come back to Mission Bay! I wants you and I needs you. I don't ask for much in this life...come back to me. Abeg.

I went on their site the day of, placed an order for pick-up with a 30 minute lead time (which was the soonest available slot), drove there and picked up my dozen. The order and pick-up process could not have been easier. The pick-up location is tucked away on a small street where the parking lot is like an office plaza, with several buildings in it. It looked like a back entrance but you'll see the ramp that leads to the pick-up window. There was no line so I went up, paid, and picked up my donuts all within a couple of minutes. The donuts were a hit with the family! Slightly less sweet compared to Mochinut. A little doughier but the chewy texture is still there. I got the dozen so we could try all the flavors which included: chocolate, matcha, ube coconut, cookie butter with oreo, peaches n' cream, and apple spice caramel. My favorites are peaches n' cream and apple spice caramel with matcha close behind. You can't go wrong with any of them, probably boils down to your taste preferences. I'm definitely returning if they have new flavors or whenever I'm in a mochi donut mood.

We were a little disappointed that they didn't have the breakfast sandwiches at this location,…read morebecause a few years ago we went to the Fisherman's Wharf location and the breakfast sandwiches were amazing. I hate having to update this review because I originally gave this business five stars, but…read moreunfortunately, the quality and consistency of the food have changed enough that I can no longer stand by that rating. My biggest concerns are inconsistency and excessive seasoning, particularly the amount of salt. I understand that when ordering something like the bife acebolado or frango acebolado (grilled chicken), the accompanying sides may change. However, when ordering online, the sides shown with the meal create an expectation of what you're going to receive. It's frustrating to drive out to pick up your food, only to find that what you were given is different from what was listed, without any notice or explanation. More concerning, though, is the salt. The last three meals I've had have been progressively saltier, with this most recent meal being completely over the top. The chicken was so heavily salted that I actually had to wash some of the seasoning off before I could eat it. At that point, I wasn't tasting the chicken or the other flavors. I was tasting a mouthful of salt. That's especially disappointing when you're making the effort to support a small business and paying the prices being charged. I should be able to enjoy the food without having to figure out how to make it edible first. Beyond taste, excessive salt is also something restaurants should be mindful of because customers have different dietary and health considerations. I want to be clear that the staff have always been friendly, and I've had good experiences with the food in the past. The portions and flavors, when properly balanced, are good, which is exactly why I originally gave this place five stars. The pastries also tend to sell out quickly, which says something about the demand for their food. But right now, the inconsistent sides and extreme amount of salt are seriously hurting the overall experience. Please, stop over-salting and over-seasoning the food. Seasoning should enhance the ingredients, not completely overpower them. If the consistency and seasoning were brought back to where they used to be, I would have no problem raising my rating again. I'm hoping the owner takes this feedback seriously because this is a business I want to be able to continue supporting.
