They also do not add certain screenings and expenses to the bill provided to the insurance instead wanting you to pay the full amount up-front out of pocket. To put this in perspective, I am double covered for vision insurance, and my cost for an exam and 6 months of contacts was $170.00. That is much higher than anywhere (or anytime) that I have had my vision checked. Then to boot, in order to find out how my charges were so high, it took over three weeks of phone calls and emails to finally get a response from the billing department.
