Family of 4 for NYE weekend. -We stayed at Breezy Point Inn & Suites. We enjoyed staying in this building as it was less packed than the main building. The rooms also seemed more spacious. -The kids enjoyed the swimming pool and hot tub. We brought our own family games also for entertainment. -The main building/arcade was chaotic and unkempt. Not on account of the resort but mostly due to parents not supervising their children and not cleaning up after themselves. It was disappointing to see how much food was spilled all over and trash everywhere due to patrons being disrespectful. -If you are very Covid conscious, you may be thrown off as there didn't seem to be many Covid practices in place (sanitizing of games, social distancing, masks, etc). -The front desk staff and other staff throughout the resort were very friendly and welcoming. -Unfortunately it was quite cold during our weekend visit and we were stuck indoors with limited options. We look forward to visiting again during the warmer months of the year. -overall we enjoyed our stay and we made the most of our experience. read more

The place is incredibly dated, and definitely needs updating. The beds were comfortable and having a deck was nice. Unfortunately the carpets were very dirty and although we called to ask for more soap and conditioner for the dispensers (along with washcloths), they never came. There were broken things and we were not accommodated for them when brought up within an hour of notifying the resort staff. Whenever we asked the front desk questions they seemed clueless and unknowledgeable. Everything is closed, even if it says it's open you get there and it says it is "closed for the season." Service is terrible and environment does not seem friendly. Would not recommend to friends or family. Was hoping for a great relaxing getaway, all the cushions are flat and uncomfortable. read more

Here for our yearly work conference. Most of us stay in the "hotel". Things I love about this resort: the outdoor individual patio with chairs and a table, the fire pits, the Dockside patio, the new decor in the lobby, the fridge and microwave in the room, the fireplace in the room (and even on June 12 that is welcome!) and the shuttle service to the main buildings. Things I dislike: old decor, very uncomfortable mattress, bad pillows, not enough sound proofing between floors, smelly areas, so-so food. For many people this place is a tradition. They keep the outdoors groomed very nice and it's a fairly quiet area. I'm guessing we will be back again next year! read more

We had high hopes because it was the Executive Beach House. It is a beach house but, far from executive. We still had a great time. But the place is definitely not updated. The twin beds on the main floor were insanely dangerous. Yes dangerous! They weren't stable. Very very wobbly and sharp metal pieces sticking out if the sides. Do not put kids in this room. And the lighting was horrible. Very dark. Again, we made the best of it and had a great time on our vacation but wouldn't rent this place again. read more

Rented the Park Place Cabin for one night which easily fit 9. Had everything we needed, plenty of towels, fridge, oven, plates. A/C and heat worked great. Outdoor was perfect with a front patio to eat outside and a fire pit on the side of the house. Would highly recommend. Did have one problem at night when a random guy came trying to get into our cabin around 1230 am. I called 911, they we quick to respond. Found the guy down the street who was very intoxicated and he was also staying in the resort but mistakenly thought our cabin was his per the police officer. After we ensured nothing criminal occurred, the rest of the night was quiet. Thankfully our front door was locked, so just another reason to always keep your doors locked wherever you may be. We also rented a pontoon from the boat marina. Would highly recommend. It was easy to book on the internet and sign the waiver. Got there 15 minutes before our rental began and was on the water in 5 minutes after a quick overview. The pontoon was in very good to excellent condition and my family and I truly enjoyed. I can't say much about the other amenities on the resort as we didn't have the time to experience them but when we checked in all the staff was very friendly. read more

**This review is for the timeshare presentation at Breezy Point only*** My husband and I were required to attend a 90 timeshare presentation based on a deal we got for a three night stay. We showed up at our scheduled time and were introduced to Terry Suetter (not sure if I'm spelling his last name correctly). He walked out a few minutes late, introduced himself and brought us back to his office. The first words out of his mouth were "You have a nasty look on your face" to my husband, who was just quietly sitting there. Really?! After Terry was going through the questions and trying to talk us in to buying a timeshare, he asked me the real reason why we were there. I truthfully told him that we were there because of the deal we bought. After I said that, he went OFF. He said we were taking 10% of his salary by not buying a timeshare and wasting his time. He then asked how WE would like it if he took 10% of our salary. He also threatened to "keep us at his desk for 90 minutes". Then, he said he was going to "blacklist" us. Seriously? This guy has some anger issues and REALLY hates his job, apparently. When we walked out, we were so angered and shocked that a salesman of all people talked to us the way he did. I notified Breezy Point immediately of this incident and spoke to the CEO. He apparently is going to talk to Terry's HR department, but I don't know what else is going to be done from there. No incentive for us to return was given to us, which was disappointing. I have been coming to Breezy Point for 30+ years and have never had an experience like this. Right in the middle of the resort, a stones throw from the spa, cafe and pool. There are several different housing options available at Breezy Point Resort. I typically stay in the Fawcett House which houses ~34 people. The apartments are also nice as well. The entire resort is located aside a beautiful lake, giving you awesome views with several amenities on site including ping pong tables, hot tubs, a golf course, etc. The Fawcett House is okay. They've made quite a few renovations since I first started coming here. My only complaint is that some of the bathrooms are very old. For example, the sinks will only have hot OR cold water coming out of separate faucets in the sink, some showers have limited hot water, several doors in the house do not lock properly, and the tiles on the floor look very dirty. It's actually a nice place to stay though if you are looking for a cabin for a large group of people. The house on the outside looks relatively small but when you walk in, there's a lot of random nooks and turns and more rooms and space than you would expect. It also has a nice bonfire pit on the outside and a large yard for leisure activities. The house includes one kitchen and around 5 bathrooms and several of the rooms have their own TV, dressers, couches, and other appliances that make your stay feel very comfortable. With your stay, you get breakfast buffet options as well as dinner. The food has generally been just okay. The breakfast has good options, but the eggs seem like they are premade out of those "fake" egg cartons. I've had the steak for dinner a few times and there's a lot of inconsistency. Sometimes it's come out way too overcooked, other times perfectly cooked but the texture of the meat is very poor. Side dishes however, taste very good. Overall, I think it's a really nice, calm, and relaxing place to stay out of the city with nice amenities overall. Just not the best food (and not many options nearby to go either). read more

My boyfriend and I decided to treat ourselves and eat at the resort. We had been super excited, as I can't eat meat and he hasn't dived into the seafood world too much. Anyways we ordered the twin tails (lobster) and our waitress took it down and walked away. 50 minutes later, Kim (I believe this was her name, not 100% though) came back with two twin steaks. I explained to her that it was not what we ordered and that I could not eat meat, and she simply stated: "Well that's what I heard." And walked away. This was incredibly disrespectful, and had completely tarnished my view on the Marina as a whole. To top the whole situation, while we were leaving the waitress walked by and said in a mocking tone "At least you can come back again and get what you actually ordered!" We don't understand why Tripadvisor gave an Excellence Award to Breezy Point Resort. After 4 years we went back to the same Breezy Point Resort, hoping to have a relaxed and enjoyable vacation. In 2015 we were there and we had a really terrible time ever on our vacations. This time too has been as bad as the prior one. There is no longer reason to go back there or recommend it to anyone. The only two areas that were outside of this mess are the service personnel and the Boat Marina. To make this short, even impossible, we will comment pointing one by one the issues. 1. Cleanliness: The unit was completely filthy. Dust, dirt, bad odors all over the place. The wooden shades were covered with a film of dust on all the vanes or panels. Kitchen floor never cleaned. After our request they did a thorough cleaning of the house, removing a full dust pan of the kitchen floor. 2. The kitchen cabinets were not clean either at all. Traces of crumbs, dust, lint, etc, etc. We spend lots of time cleaning and disinfecting those shelves to store our groceries and other kitchen needs. Pots and pan were with scratches and unusable. 3. While cleaning the kitchen we tried to run the Disposal and was so disgusting that the food that was inside the disposal came out and across to the other sink. We spent more time to clean it and sanitized it and needed to go to buy sink products to unclog the Disposal. 4. Linens: The pillow cases were unusable. They stink so badly. The odor was like filthy bodies and the pillow cases were the same, not treated at all. We asked for new pillows. Pillow cases when replaced during half week housekeeping service were the same. We had to wash them one more time. 5. Garden was and it's still completely abandoned. No cleaning and plenty of weeds. Patio with weeds also across it. There is no excuse, because of the weather. We went to Madden's at this time just visiting it and everything was so neat, plenty of flowers, new mulch and clean. See photos of the patio, same time of the year. 6. Air Conditioning: Was not working with temperatures around 75 or more. We called maintenance and they said that was not on. They switched it on. But, it did not work either. It was going on and off every 30 seconds. We were waiting for our baby granddaughter to come. Needed AC. The problem was with the 40 years old thermostat. We had to wait for another day to get the new thermostat. 7. Dryer: Not working until we left. When in use, the temperature and the humidity inside the laundry room was about 90% and 85 F or more. The reason, the pipe going out was disconnected from the machine. The service guy connected it. Not working either. Finally after 3 days they found out that the pipe going out was covered by the roof, shingles. Two days before we left, it was poorly running. 8. The washing machine had a nasty odor. As well as water from each tap. We needed to run washing tablets to get a better smell. Drainage on the floor had a repulsive odor. Bacteria were growing there. Finally, they used a bacteria killer to reduce the odor. See picture. 9. Fitness Center: The first day we went there, the temperature was 80F. The AC was not running. 10. Next day after arrival, I tried to get water through the kitchen faucet and came thick foam. I put a small drop in my mouth without swallowing and it was salty. Very unhealthy. The reason was that the filter water softener was returning the chemicals from the water cleaning tank and reversed it to the house. The water softener was not working properly. In summary we spent more time trying to get things fixed than enjoying our vacation. Very disappointing! We traveled around the western hemisphere for more than 50 years, over 397 cities and we know about hospitality, quality, resorts and hotels. We don't recommend this Breezy Point Resort at all! We booked one of the condo type homes for a 2 night stay. The house was nice, it was renovated...ish, still a little dated. They have some deferred maintenance which was a bummer but not terrible. But what was really nasty was the jetted tub. I LOVE baths so I was looking forward to using it. I bring a cleaner with that you put in and run for 15 min. The picture attached is what is what was in the jets! YUCK! There was also someone else's garbage on the back ledge of the tub. But this is why I clean them before I use them...The other down side of the tub was the fact that you run out of hot water about 1/4th full! My husband actually boiled water and brought it up and dumped it in to warm my water up 3 times! Also, you can hear the neighbors snoring through the walls....that sucked! Another bummer, was about the spa. We had a couples massage booked. I asked to have a pedi done as well but of course they don't do them during the week now because of COVID! But the day of our massage they called and said that they had left me a message a few days prior (which I didn't get) to tell me that one of the massage therapists had COVID. So they could only do one of us and it would be 2.5 hours later than the original appointment. So needless to say we didn't get them. It was just a crappy stay all around. Just to note, I have stayed here before and used the spa. It was a very nice stay that time. But it was a few years back so things have gone down hill. read more

We have a yearly timeshare that we have loved and visited for 30 years now. We always show up to a certain level of "shabby chic" since the place is older, but this year it was just straight up shabby. Rips in the couch and chairs, mold on the bathroom ceiling, carpet that needs to be stretched and cleaned, broken blinds, and a broken bedside table. FIVE STARS to the two maintenance men who showed up, listened to our concerns, and took immediate action on what they could. Fantastic service - huge thanks to them for making our stay here better! But shame on management for letting this wonderful place get to this point. read more

Was going to stay here for a weekend wedding, but found a room closer to the venue. Just an FYI before you book, they charge you to cancel even within the 30-day period, seems to be at their own discretion (they give a wide range and say it's "dependent on your room and the weekend"). Mine was only $25 but I would have never booked a room had I known that previously, it's a little dissapointing it wasn't CLEARLY STATED on the booking page prior to me moving forward. I just got back from my 3rd Conference held at Breezy. I feel like it gets better every year. The staff was always polite and helpful. Check in was quick. My room at the Inn was comfortable and quiet. Even with at least 4 girls hockey teams staying there. The Marina restaurant served us a great breakfast and lunch buffet. The Dockside bar was busy but the staff was attentive and friendly. I have also stayed here in the summer months and had great days fishing. The kids had plenty of activities and consumed huge quantities of ice cream. The adults went to the coffee shop often and everyone raved about the pizza from Dockside. I would recommend giving this place a look anytime of the year. read more

Just wanted to share my experience with Breezy Point Resort. We do not live in Minnesota but have family there for Christmas 2020 we gave her brother and his wife a Spa Resort Package to Breezy Point Resort which included a two night stay in a suite two dinners and two breakfast and $200.00 dollars Spa Credit again none of us have had ever been to the resort. I booked the stay at the resort for them for the dates they wanted and thought everything was all good to go and couldn't wait to hear about there stay and how it was. But then the gift fell apart and made me and my wife look like fools her brother and his wife drive up to the resort when checking in there ask about the spa resort package stay how to book at the spa for their spa package stay. Sadly they were informed the spa was all booked and would not be able to get in they were so disappointed about it they just canceled the booking. Once I found out I called Breezy point Resort wondering if I could speak to a manager no answer and went to voice mail to call me back as soon as possible. No call back that day the next a week nothing I think to my wow you are in the hospitality business and customer service business and this is how you treat new customer that could have become life long ones I was just shocked. After leaving the voice mail I call back and spoke to the book agent and ask how is someone supposed to know you were supposed to book your spa treatments before your stay no on the conformation email does it state this at ALL she said she tells all bookings that it needs to be done before your stay. I said that is great but life is busy and people forget and you go to refer to the conformation email and again no where in all the writing does it state this. Secondly if you booked a Spa Package stay at the resort is it not normal for one to think that they know we are coming for the spa and to stay there that once we get there we will then book or spa treatment? She could not and would not see my points and put herself in my shoes this was a gift and none of us have ever stayed there or know anything about standard operating practices but one would think a good manager would have at least spa times available when people book that package for there stay or maybe look at the books and say hey strange this couple never booked anything before there stay I better give them a call and get them in or inform them how it works but no. I it could have been resolved in the right way a manager would maybe ask the therapist if they could stay late come in earlier maybe reach out to a repeat client ask explain the situation but no second option refund all money and book the package again make it right and repeat customers third refund there money and offer them an upgraded stay since they are already here yes no spa but maybe they would be ok with that but no nothing sorry you don't know how it works here we do not care you have never stayed here are first time customers your stay was a gift just no customer service. So I can not tell you about the resort at all but can tell you there booking team and manager maybe need a good long talk from Bob the owner the only reason I know the owner first name because the booking lady had the nerve to say will bob the owner of resort just could not walk into the spa and get right in and that was not at all what I was saying or my point. If the owner name really is Bob and did do that I am positive they would try there hardest to make him happy and accommodate him isn't he the one who signs your checks? I am done now this is my experience if you decide to try a stay here I hope your goes a lot better then what I experienced. read more

I've never stayed at the hotel so I can't rate that. But in terms of fun to be had, I absolutely love coming to Breezy Point. Fun to be had in the day for me usually consists of some lake activity. Pelican lake is huge so there are many areas good for fishing, or tubing, or just hanging out. If the weather isn't quite lake weather, there is a golf course right in the resort for those golfers to enjoy. And for those rainy days, going 'into town' is a good way to spend some time. In the evening, there is always entertainment going on. Elvis brings in the crowds and the families. Then later in the evening, some sort of band or dj takes over. While I will admit I'm not always a fan of the evening entertainment, the bar more than makes up for it. read more

I've been coming here since I was a kid, so I have a certain love for it. That said, it's certainly nothing fancy. The arcade games my 9 year old loves are probably the same ones I played when I was 9, and the pool certainly looks the same. You come here for the fun things to do, and the love of the community, not for anything ritzy. Tons of great things to do, like the little beach, swimming, and taking a boat out on Pelican Lake. The kids also loved the basketball court, though it's a bit of a hike and across a busy road to get there. Rooms are definitely dated, but do the job. I was really disappointed they took out the tiny food/ice cream shop in the pool area. It looks like they are building a great coffee shop/food place in it's place, but to not have that ready in the middle of summer? That's bad service, especially when the signs said it would be completed in the summer of 2013, and it wasn't near completion. read more

We hosted a conference there recently and I was throughly impressed with everything. The layout is quite unique and worked really well for our group. The hotel rooms are all very nice, I didn't hear a single complaint. The staff is incredible; so quick to fix anything that pops up, and never made me feel like our group was a burden or too demanding. Working with Bonnie and her team was a breeze; she's so patient and so knowledgeable. The views are normally gorgeous, but it was raining all weekend so we didn't see much. Many nice amenities: the lake itself, good restaurant, fine golf course, etc. but it lacks soul. Poorly trained staff: no one knew which pools or fitness center we could use (?), we didn't get our trash taken out for 3 days, a 3-acre parking lot dominates the resort and the once-scenic beach is crammed with boat docks, jet skis, etc. The people were nice enough, but you got the sense they "just work there." No sense of mission. No "Wow" experience in anyway. read more

Company refuses to talk to my family about removing ownership of a condo there. My mother-in-law died 10 YEARS AGO, and every year since then Breezy Point Resort has been sending us a yearly bill for her timeshare. We have not used it, and every time we ask to talk to someone at Breezy Point who can correct this, we get ignored, or told we will get called back or paperwork that never happens. Now Breezy Point has decided that the constant reminders to my husband about his mother who is dead, they want to sue for $700+, on top of the yearly charges going forward because they won't release him from a timeshare that his mother owned, that he inherited and doesn't want. I cannot believe that a company would be so disgusting in their actions. He didn't sign any paperwork stating this was an obligation, they continue to charge him for a timeshare he doesn't use and doesn't want, and now because he is refusing to make another payment (because 10 year's worth is enough time) until they remove him from the obligation that was forced on him, they want to sue AND continue to make him liable. I do not care how nice the grounds are. The customer service and despicable actions of this company are disgraceful. Please consider this if you are vacationing here, or considering a timeshare with Breezy Point. read more

I'm paying over 300 dollars to stay tonight and cannot park near our townhome . Someone parked in our numbered space and we were just told that the large yellow numbers are optional and they can't possibly do anything about it. We were told we couldn't possibly park our second car in a non designated spot . So apparently it's just too much work to do something about it . read more

Honestly, the resort is beautiful. The place we stayed, the executive beach house, was cute and cozy, other than the fact that one of the doors in the upstairs bathroom opens into the toilet. Unfortunately upon checking in, the people who greeted us were quite rude. We realized that they had the wrong number to text when our cabin was ready, so he switched it to our cell phone number after an eye roll and a sigh. We then went to eat at the dockside restaurant, which had good food and good service. Then, after a while without our cabin being ready, we checked the front desk to realize that they were trying to text the original number, which led to a landline. We got our cabin and all was well. We attended a concert at dockside, and it was very entertaining and fun. We all got back to the cabin and we were looking forward to a good shower when we realized that the shower upstairs was lacking a shower curtain. The shower head was also loose and it was spraying water everywhere. It was practically raining in the bathroom! Luckily, a mechanic came and helped fix it. The mechanic was kind and helpful. Later, people came with a shower curtain. Also, some of the buildings looks as if they hadn't been updated since the 1980s. We had a good time swimming in the lake and the pool, the food was good, and the rooms and cabins are cozy and comfortable. Although all of this was great, the atmosphere was not the best. read more

My family was told to come early because the room we were staying in was empty the night before we came up. We have been waiting here since noon and our room still isn't ready. (It's 5:40) Check-in is technically at 5 but there is another 5 people waiting for rooms with us. Another woman was told she could check in early and has been waiting as well. If it wasn't such short notice and I wasn't so far away from home I'd 1000% leave. Say down and ordered drinks, waited 20 minutes and still didn't have them while we watched the inexperienced staff trying to use the register and it took the one guy 15 minutes just to finish the receipt he was doing. I went here for a convention and enjoyed it for the most part. The room was beautiful and have a balcony with a gorgeous lake view. I love the fact that they allow bonfires on the beach. There a couple things that Breezy Point can improve as far as service and amenities though. The Wi-Fi service in the main building is dreadful. I spent 45 minutes trying to open my email and never could get into it. So if you need something for a presentation, make sure to print it beforehand. Another thing that was disappointing was the communication between the resort and our convention, as the first part of the weekend, we could bring in coolers into the conference room, but the last night they wouldn't allow it. Please be consistent in your regulations. Oh and if you have a group event, you can only book rooms with the event coordinator, her schedule being 8am-4:30pm. Please Breezy, hire additional staff or update your booking policies for group events. It was really a pain to book a room considering that I have job. I would go back again, but I would hope for the money that I am paying that sound upgrades to service and amenities would be made. read more

The wedding we attended was absolutely gorgeous (though the food could use some improvement). The ballroom overlooked the lake. I am surprised at how dated this place is though. The building we were in needs a major overhaul as does most of the resort (outside of new boats and cute coffee shop). I also like housekeeping daily with dirty kids that have been playing all day. We didn't have any from fri-sun. I like charm, but this place is tired and I wouldn't choose it for a family vaca until there are some more upgrades. We are here for four days and three nights of conference meetings, the wifi that is noted as "free" is terrible,the speed it absolutely horrible, the television that was to be in each bedroom was non existent, one bedroom had no television and the other did not work. It was difficult to complete work with the SLOWWW internet. The wall paper was falling off several areas of the room that was used. Updating to current standards is a definite must do. If I could give a negative star, I definitely would. Staff is absolutely rude. We booked a room for a conference and were told that it is a double occupancy room with TWO beds. Thus we booked 2 rooms. However few weeks after reservation, we were charged for 4 rooms. When we try to inquire, they told us that prices were for each bed and not the room. UUMMMM WHAT. What resort charges by bed???? I have never in my life paid for part of the room. When we tried to resolve the issue, they had the audacity to tell us to stay at a cheaper hotel. The issue could have been easily resolved but they chose to be rude about it. They treated us like we were illiterate and dumb. read more

Not sure what Ownership is focused on, but it's not cleanliness or service. Gift shop was great, check in was wonderful, but the Marina is gross and the Coffee Shop was in clear violation of 4 different MN Dept of Health codes. Employees at the Coffee Shop eating at the counter, not washing their hands and just generally have no regard for Customers. Caribou should be frightened of their affiliation with this liability. read more

We have visited Breezy Point many times over the past 20 years. More recently we've stayed at the White Birch timeshare near Antler's Restaurant. It's nicely decorated with a "northwoods" decor and love the large pine/wood log table. However the large pine log chairs look cool, but they are noisy and the chairs are a bear to move around. The walls are a little thin (you can hear the TV from the living room in the back bedrooms). Many good amenities, nice gift store, but much of the main resort recreation area is dated. My husband and I took out a paddle boat and it was very rickety, we had a short boat trip. But the dock boy was friendly and accommodating! My parents and I enjoy getting a pizza (thinner crust) and a pitcher of "local" beer from the Dockside Lounge. One of my favorite vacation memories is the craft activity that was offered that my mom and I did together (the years they offered painting your own cement leaf paver). If you are not familiar with the area, there is now a Costco nearby in Brainerd to stock your fridge for the week too! Also, Elvis lives... catch him live in concert for an entertaining evening of the oldies. We have traditionally gone near the Labor Day weekend. Great art crawl through the countryside with local artists and their studios. Many garage sales too, if that's your thing... read more
