I don't really have anything bad to say, so I will try and list all of the things that are great about this place. We had a total of 5 cabins split between the family. I stayed in cabin #1 with my wife, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and my 2 yr old niece. The cabin was very cozy between the 5 of us. It was one of the smaller cabins, but it had a porch and a nice view of the lake through the back. All of the cabins are very clean and up to date with fireplace, a/c, fully functional kitchen, and electric heaters. The grounds of the resort is beautiful. Flower beds were blooming with flowers. There is a newly renovated playground area, a volleyball pit, a game room, and a very nice fish cleaning station. A secret garden can be found with very interesting knick knacks and decor. There is a swimming beach lined with kayaks, fun bugs, paddle boats, paddle boards, and other various water accessories. Again, all of the equipment has been well taken care of, so much that a lot of it looks brand new. These items are all available to use by the campers with a proportional deposit at the main office. There is a boat ramp and very nice boat stalls where you can tie up a boat or even keep your boat under a covered dock with a boat lift. The resort is conveniently located near local establishments where you can pick up food, alcohol, fishing gear, etc. My only minor complaint about the place is that they do not allow dogs, but I can understand their reasoning as the cabins are closely quartered and many people probably don't want to deal with peoples obnoxious pets while on vacation. All in all, Black Pine Beach Resort is a wonderful place to get away from reality, and I look forward to the many future Labor Days to come at BPBR.

One year, my family decided to visit all the remaining resorts. We wanted to find the best resort and best value. This one was a gem! We have stayed there a few times now, and I wouldn't consider any other resort on the Whitefish chain. I can tell the owners not only care about their resort, but they care about the Crosslake-Pequot Lakes- Pine River area. I hope and pray the owners don't decide to retire and sell it off. For our anniversary this year we stayed at Boyd Lodge and had the most blissful, quiet, relaxing day imaginable. Surrounded only by the sounds of the leaves falling from the trees we were able to truly connect and enjoy each other's company in a way that just isn't feasible at home. Thank goodness for the rest, relaxation, and opportunity to focus on our relationship. We returned home rejuvenated and full of gratitude for such a wonderful experience. Boyd Lodge is truly a gem and we look forward to planning another stay in the very near future! We'll bring our daughter along next time though, because Mommy missed her far too much.

Our kids are teens & tweens and they enjoyed themselves on the water tramp, bikes, canoe & water playground. I can see that this would be a fantastic place for smaller kids too. The beach is protected and shallow entry, the water playground is surrounded by dock, also feels very protected and safe. It's a quiet section of lake with perfect access to the chain of lakes great for boating, skiing etc. there's a convenient boat rental place right up the lake too. We will definitely be back.

They have a boat launch and docks with boat rentals and a variety of water craft that require human power to move. The owners are super friendly and have something going on all week long to help if the fishing is slow. The gift shop is great if you need T-shirt or some basic kitchen items to save the run into town. This has been our favorite spot for the past 15 years and will be for years to come

Great for families, there were a few staying while I was there. I'm older now and I'll be going back with my kids and wife soon to share the fun and build wonderful memories. The lodge is decorated in a North Woods style. We had a King Suite room which had a fireplace, which we used for a short time, was clean and had a comfortable bed, though the pillows were not good -hard as rocks. The breakfast was better than I expected, they had two kinds of home made frozen omelettes that you could microwave - quite tasty, and a big step up from the Cisco premade egg items at chain motels, plus hard boiled eggs, a good selection of teas and the usual waffles, muffins and bread items. There is a small, cute shopping area that is less than a 10 minute walk away which has a few ladies boutiques, some restaurants and other stores. You can also walk to the grocery store in about 5 minutes and the golf coarse is a 5 minutes drive away.

The owners were super friendly and accommodating. The resort is at the very east end of the lake in a calm, quiet bay. Our grandkids had a blast especially with the water trampoline, carpet ball, fishing and swimming, s'mores and campfires. Lots to do for adults but we liked napping, reading and fishing the most and late night games of Farkle. I particularly liked the fact that there were no speed boats or jet skis anywhere on the lake that I could see. We just got home two days ago and tonight we made our reservations for next year. The rooms also seemed more spacious. -The kids enjoyed the swimming pool and hot tub. We brought our own family games also for entertainment. -The main building/arcade was chaotic and unkempt. Not on account of the resort but mostly due to parents not supervising their children and not cleaning up after themselves. It was disappointing to see how much food was spilled all over and trash everywhere due to patrons being disrespectful. -If you are very Covid conscious, you may be thrown off as there didn't seem to be many Covid practices in place (sanitizing of games, social distancing, masks, etc). -The front desk staff and other staff throughout the resort were very friendly and welcoming. -Unfortunately it was quite cold during our weekend visit and we were stuck indoors with limited options. We look forward to visiting again during the warmer months of the year. -overall we enjoyed our stay and we made the most of our experience.
