It is the closest one in the area to Fort Lauderdale Beach. And they offer "primitive" camping, i.e. in a tent, as well as RV/Camper camping plus all the related facilities. But it's been quite some time since I actually visited this park. Located just west of Powerline Road, you wouldn't have any idea that this 40 plus acre park exists unless you were looking for it. There is no entrance fee during the week, so we were able to come and explore for free. The driving road is one way in a big circle around the park. The park is packed with so much to see and do. For nature lovers, it is part of the Birding and Wildlife Trail. The woodland trail entrance starts from the road. It had been raining a lot recently. We decided it might be a bit muddy to walk as we hadn't come prepared to do so. There are lush green grass areas and shady trees in the main area of the park. For the sports enthusiast there is disc golf, volleyball, horseshoes, basketball, and shuffleboard. For the kids there are wide open areas to run around in and playgrounds. We know a family who lives locally who recently visited here one weekend for a mini vacation with their new RV and had a blast here. And one of our fellow yelp elites visits often for disc golf. It's a place that can be enjoyed by locals as well as tourists -- whether you're looking to relax or for recreation. We had a lovely leisurely visit here. When the weather is nice, it is a quiet and peaceful retreat from the traffic and city distractions.

After checking in its a a small drive around the whole park to the parking for the 1st hole. I was there before the others so I was able to get some practice throws in on their practice hole first. once everyone was there we started the round. There is about 3 water holes, and they are all at the beginning. They arent hard though, it's really about going around the lake. We made it through there fine. after that its a mix of open field joles and others that go through the woods. Almost every hole is doable. I'm not good and I can par most of them. In fact I had 2 birdies that day. The whole course is well maintained. Nothing too fancy but it's taken care of. There are other amenities like a playground, camping, basketball court, and more. But the central attraction to me is the course. Oh, and they have a bonus 19th and 20th holes! Can't beat that.

During peak seasons in the winter months this park like most others in Florida are full and hard to get. We were here during the month of May and had no issues getting a spot. We live in Florida and our daughter and son-in-law moved from Jacksonville to West Palm Beach for a new job. When we come down and visit them Encore Highland Woods park is the closest to their home. We try and stay at Thousands Trails membership parks so we can utilize our membership to the fullest. I read a lot of reviews about this park and most were negative. I was really worried about coming here. I can honestly say we really didn't have any issues or concerns while staying here for 7 days. My opinion only; this is just a place to stay and not a destination park. A place to park the Rv and venture out sightseeing. While we were here we would leave around 9:30am and go visit our daughter and grandkids in West Palm and then come home around 4pm. We walked our two dogs around both parks (Highland Woods and Breezy Hill). Both parks are ran by the same office. Our site was spacious with decent room on both sides. * The only odd thing about this park there is not an office here. You have to walk next door to Breezy Hill to their office. * They do have electric security gate arms that are activated when you pull up to them. No key pad or code needed. Not very secure for the area. * People do like to speed through the park. I guess they know there is no one from the park to say something to them.... Even the Amazon and FedEx deliveries speed through. * One day when we arrived back home at 4pm we noticed a water line was broken and spraying water about 50' over into the grass and roadway next to our site. I immediately called two "emergency numbers" and left messages. No one returned my call or came to look at the water leak. Around 9:45pm that evening some finally came and fixed it. * The sewer connection is in the middle of the Rv pad on most sites. The rear of the Rv is over it when parked which makes it difficult for connecting and disconnecting sewer lines. * Even with the odd things mentioned we will still return back here when we visit our daughter and son-in-law. Compared to the other Encore parks in the surrounding areas this park is one of the better ones! The photos are from our site #126. I liked this site and hope to get it again in the future.

You arrive- the email confirmation gave me no site number or checkin instructions! You have to check in at the park next door( would be handy to know). Of course with our 40 ft rv & tow there was nowhere to turn around & a gate code was required to go forward. After several minutes & no luck calling Encore ( msg for up to 2 hours call back) Naomi came out & opened the gate & told us where we needed to be. She is the only positive thing I have seen so far. The park looks like an old trailer park The hookups are old. My husband actually checked the elec before he felt ok plugging in. The sewer is in the middle of parking spot. The spaces are narrow. I would not recommend this park to anyone! Sorry I booked for two nights My own fault. I normally always look at reviews. I blew it this time.

Rv sites are VERY tight and close together. This is definitely "Urban Rv Park". Looks like they ran out of sites and combined one site into two in order to have more availability. Because they are tight the sites are pull through but you have to have the front of the Rv as close to the road as you can. This will allow you to park your vehicle behind the Rv within the site. Cannot park vehicle on the grass!!!!! So far all the staff has been super friendly and helpful! Water pressure has been great. Electrical has been great. * The only difference at this park is the water and electrical connections are on the opposite side of the Rv (water and electrical hose runs underneath the Rv to the other side). I also keep an extra 25' 50amp extension cord for just that reason. For us it's not about where we park but the destination (for exploring the area). So far we like it here at this park and will come back in the future. Added info 6 days later: * In the Rv section be aware that some of the permanent Rv residents have large dogs. The dogs definitely didn't like us walking our dogs down their road. One dog ran fast towards us and luckily the owner grabbed the leash at the last minute to hold them back. We also picked up after our dogs each and every time they (poop); even around our own Rv site. Each day as we took our dogs out to use the restroom by our Rv I had to picked up other dogs (poop) in addition to ours. There were actually some (poop) next to the Rv about a foot from the door. Yuck! Also a lot of the residents like to listen to their Latin music around them at a level that can be heard all over. Meaning; at their permanent residence, at the pool and in their vehicles. Saturday and Saturday night were the loudest. Honestly; we were gone sightseeing during most part of the day. Usually we were back at the Rv around 3pm. Like I said before; this is NOT a destination park to come and just hang out. It's a place you park your Rv and venture out sightseeing. There is a lot to do around this area that's 15 to 30 minutes away in any direction. * I give it a 5 for the location and still a 3 for every thing else. The grounds keeper and night security are super nice and I give them a 5.

Very convenient for a semi glamping experience. Haha. For real. Our first camping experience had outhouses with leaves to help disintegrate the excrement. Seriously! So this is a luxurious experience in comparison. This camp site was also very cautious about checking temperatures and making sure everyone was not sick with Covid. There are electrical outlets at the main pavilion and the biggest restrooms too. We needed an outlet to inflate our air mattress but didn't see the electrical outlet in the restroom until someone told us. The amphitheater is a cool spot inside the camp site. Love the small lake too. We went fishing and it was fun. Someone actually caught a small fish. I wouldn't eat that fish though. Haha. All in all, this was a wonderful experience.

Especially at campsite 8, There was an ant pile almost every 5 feet away from you. It took me about 40 minutes to set up our tents due to having to check if there is an ant pile. Also the bathrooms are bipolar lets say. Somedays clean, somedays dirty and anything like that. However I give it a 5 stars because of the memories. My friend crossing over and having a big sleepover in the tents, playing games, competition, volunteering, and more. It is just so fun and it minimizes all the tings I've complained about earlier because of the amount of fun you are having. I recommend it for sure, just be careful when you use the bathroom and always make sure you are not surrounded by an ant pile.
