While running errands in Edison I convinced my wife to check Anchors out. Read! I read in one of…read morethe New Jersey articles that this place was a tiki bar, so I was excited to try it out. Upon getting there, it is a nice Marina bar that has a grave a lot. We walked shortly from the parking lot and got seats of the bar right away. There was a good amount of people there for a Saturday afternoon. However, we were helped right away. Their beer prices are pretty phenomenal in my opinion. The selection I think is pretty good too. We were speaking with one of the people behind the bar and they said the plan is to also have food trucks here eventually as well for a food option. There is ample seating here as you can see from some of the pictures I took and the two staff we talked to were very friendly. One thing that could be a pro or a con depending on your disposition is that this is an outdoor bar. There are a lot of fans going and it has a very nice breeze. How over on a hot day where something loose and breathable. However, in the spring and fall I can imagine this place having a big crowd because it seems like a really nice place to have a drink and hang out. All in all. If you're local, I would definitely come check this place out. We will definitely be back in the future.

Nice day to chill and relax and enjoy the breeze. Nice ambiance. Lots of parking . Will return and definitely recommend. Come and support the town.

Doughboy Johnnys - Mozzarella Sticks (5)

Girls' night after work led us to Doughboy Johnny's, and as a first-timer walking in, I genuinely…read morehad no idea what to expect. Spoiler: I left very happy (and with leftovers). Let's start with the only real challenge of the night: parking. Between regular White Plains parking adventures and the winter snow situation, it took a little patience. But once we got inside, the night immediately got better. The vibe is college-bar casual, but without the trashiness that sometimes comes with that territory. It's lively but still comfortable enough to actually enjoy a conversation. One thing I loved right away, there are games by the front entrance that you can grab and bring to your table. Drinks + games = instant girls' night upgrade. We were seated in the center near the kitchen, which actually gave us a great view of the whole place. Our drinks were really good, though if the bartender's hand had slipped just a tiny bit more on the pour, I wouldn't have complained. Still solid, still enjoyable. Now the food. Holy moly. Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. And the portions? I'm not sure if they thought we were feeding an entire soccer team, but honestly... I support the ambition. I don't think I've ever seen mozzarella sticks that size before. I love leftovers and this place clearly believes in sending you home with some. Another thing I appreciated was seeing a whole section of vegan options on the menu. I didn't try them this time, but I love when a restaurant makes it easy for different diets to find something without turning ordering into a complicated group project. Between the fun atmosphere, great food, and generous portions, this was a great first experience. Next time I come back, I'll just plan ahead for parking... and maybe bring an even bigger appetite.

They quoted us an hour and 45 minute wait -- way too long -- so we made a game-time decision and went to Miller's Ale House instead. Honestly? Very glad we did. We stopped by on a warmer night after a week of being snowed in, so I'm guessing they may have been caught a little off guard because they were definitely understaffed. We were quoted a 35-minute wait and ended up being seated in about 30, which was appreciated. There were quite a few empty tables, but it was clear they were trying to keep the load manageable for the kitchen. Our server Jack apologized for the backup and genuinely did his best to stay on top of things while juggling a lot of tables -- no complaints about the effort at all. We started with wings, which were solid. For entrées, we had the chicken quesadillas and the steak & shrimp combo -- both were good and hit the spot. Overall, it was a decent experience. Restaurant was clean and well kept. The only real downside was the lack of seating for people waiting -- we had to stand the entire 30 minutes, which wasn't the most comfortable. With a few adjustments on busy nights, this place could easily be a 5-star visit.

We tried a plain pie and a buffalo chicken, and both came out hot with great flavor. Gina is always a pleasure and always provides excellent service to all her customers. The pizzas are thin enough that you can easily share a couple with the table, which is honestly the best way to enjoy this style. The edges had a nice crisp while the center stayed cheesy and satisfying. If you're a fan of bar-style pizza, this spot definitely delivers. Simple, crispy, and really well done. Will keep coming back for more!!

DoorDash Pizza Diaries: Strawberry's Pub & Pizza…read more If I deliver it, I gotta try it. That's the rule. So after countless miles, red lights, and "leave at door" ninja drops, I finally grabbed a slice from Strawberry's Pub & Pizza--and yeah, this one earns its spot in the rotation. The vibe? Classic neighborhood pub energy. The kind of place where the TVs are always on, the locals actually know each other, and the pizza isn't trying to reinvent itself with truffle oil or an identity crisis. Just solid, honest pizza doing its job. The slice: thin but not sad, crispy where it counts, foldable without flopping like a bad screenplay. The sauce has that slightly sweet, slightly tangy balance, and the cheese? Just enough to stretch, not enough to slide off and burn your chin. Respect. As a DoorDasher who's eaten pizza in more parking lots than I care to admit, this is exactly the kind of slice you want mid-shift--satisfying, not greasy-bomb heavy, and absolutely worth the pit stop. Bonus points for fast service and a staff that moves like they've done this a thousand times (because they have). Dash Verdict: If you're ordering from Strawberry's--good choice. If you're dashing past Strawberry's--stop and grab a slice. If you're me--you're adding it to the "NJ Mom & Pop Pizza Approved" list. Until the next delivery... stay crispy.
