From design to execution, every step of the process was thoughtful, professional, and seamless. We started with home shows and reading reviews and reached out to three different companies. We met one face to face at a home show, they didn't respond after. Another came out to our home, took some photos and came back a week later with an uninspired design and a sprinkler quote that was 3x larger than Ravenscourt. Shawn came out to our home, took photos and we made a small payment for a design proposal. When it was ready, Shawn and Laurin had my wife and I to their home and walked us through their vision for the yard. Laurin put so much thought into every detail, it was clear they genuinely cared about making this yard special for us. There was no pressure, just excitement, and you could see how passionate they are about what they do. Once the work started, Shawn explained the process step by step, introduced the team, and they got to it. The crew was there every morning, ready to go, and if bad weather delayed things, Shawn was on top of it and let us know right away. Throughout the project, he checked in regularly to see how we felt about the progress. If we had questions or ideas, he was always happy to listen and explain things. Honestly, having Shawn stop by with updates was probably one of the highlights of my day during the whole process. From start to finish, the project took about 7-8 weeks. The transformation was incredible. Since then, we've had friends over who can't stop raving about how great the yard looks. I even caught a couple of people sneaking photos!. Shawn, Laurin, and their team are talented, professional, and just all-around great people to work with. If you're thinking about upgrading your yard, don't waste your time with anyone else. I have several complaints with the company but mostly with followup service . Most of the plants were not top quality b/c of freeze. I complained of constant dieback on camellias. i have replaced three. all struggle in location of design. I lost one of 2 Traveler's redbuds. The Berkley Carex that replaced lawn look straggly and dried out all the time. Have replaced a third. i have fertilized exactly as i was told with seaweed foliar spraying. The $3000.00 i paid for a drip watering system has been inadequate to keep the majority of plants alive. i hand water constantly. I have used Microlife in all parts of landscaping as advised. When a valve was not working on drip system a month into use., i asked Shawn to take a look at it. He came out , acknowledged it needed fixing. Never came back out. i wanted easier maintenance on front yard. It has not met my expectations. Much will have to be pulled and redone with other plants. P.S. I am a gardener. i am 71 and not new to the plant world. And further more the plants that i had already added to front before Ravenscourt even set foot in my front yard are doing well(with hand watering that i now have to do to supplement terrible drip system.) Luis sent his guys over to resolve the issue, but instead of properly addressing the true issue, they glued the planks down. As time passed, more planks started to come up. It turns out that they never laid down a moisture barrier, so I'm at risk of eventually having to replace the entire flooring down the line. I expressed this discovery to Luis and nothing.... not a response, not an explanation, just a read text message. He doesn't return phone calls, nothing. He's there in the moment, fools you into thinking all is well, and just cuts you off. Be careful and do your homework before hiring Morningstar Restoration. These guys aren't true professionals, just a bunch of his friends that have some experience. Not to mention, they used 2 different brands of vinyl planks, prompting them to modify one type to align with the other. Per true professionals, this was a lazy and cheap installation. The fact that I have to call Luis from random numbers to get a response, the fact that he's aware of my issue and won't even acknowledge me... this is what speaks to his character. When hiring this company, please make sure you understand his method, compare to other professional plans, and refine your warranty and expectations after services are complete.
