This is a cute, well appointed property. The room is nice, clean and very comfortable. They did a great job updating The lady ( owner?) at the desk is extremely friendly and helpful. Only four stars because the small TV, though it has cable only gets a few stations. No ESPN, CNBC, CNN, etc. a bit frustrating. That being said I will definitely stay here again. read more

Stayed here for a last minute weekend getaway with the family. Although we were expecting our studio to be small, it was actually a little bigger then we thought from pictures. Everything was clean and all staff were warm and welcoming. Some minor maintenance/updating needing done (loose screw in bathroom, loose wallpaper near base board), but nothing that has any impact on the start itself. Wife and I thought it was a really cute and cozy stay and kids were super excited about the go karts (or Mario Kart according to them). Our room was right against the track, but you could still barely hear the karts even with the windows open and kids watching. Will definitely consider staying again sometime. Worth the drive from Portland. read more

I've seen some bad reviews for this place. I don't understand. It's not fancy, no, but it's clean comfortable and well-priced for Westport. If you plan to stay in your room on vacation, ok stay somewhere else. There's a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. A fan in case it gets warm. Extra blanket if it gets cold. Chocolates!! Decent toiletries. Ample hot water. Bed is comfy. Clean towels. Room was quite spacious. My checkin was friendly enough. I've stayed at worse places in Westport. read more

We stayed here in the 2 "bedroom" apartment. It's actually one bedroom with a bed in the living room/kitchen area. Each bed is a twin bed. The place looked grimy and the mattresses were very soft - no support The mini-blinds did not block out the light from the outside area so between that and the mattresses we did not sleep well. The go-cart area is used as a doggie bathroom and you can't walk around in it without stepping on dog poo. The attached photo is of the ceiling fan in our room #205. No one was there when we arrived although we had talked to the staff on the phone earlier and told them we'd be there at 430, which is when we arrived. The person who checked us in was nice but that din't make up for the grimy room and nasty go cart area. read more

We booked a room at this hotel specifically for the jacuzzi tub since no one else in town seemed to have that or a private hot tub. We got there. Checked in. I was charged for the room. I went back later on after verifying I had already paid through hotels.com (who are useless btw). The guy quickly refunded me. Okay fine. We try to light the fire place but the pilot light won't ignite. No fire. Called the front desk. Tried to get help, ended up giving up on it. The next morning, we find out we have no hot water. Well the office doesn't open until 4pm so there's nothing we can do. Colder than lukearm but not icy shower and off for the day. Tell the front desk when we get back from the day that there is no hot water and the fire place isn't working. He does a few things. Still no fire or hot water. Resets a few things. Still no fire or hot water. Found out propane tank hadn't been filled since May. They call the company to get it filled. We get told it'll be a couple hours before they arrive and then at least an hour after that before we have hot water. We go out to supper. Come back. Still no fire or hot water and now the office is closed. Didn't even bother showering Saturday morning since we literally only had cold water. Not even remotely lukewarm- Office won't open until 4pm per signs so no showers and off for the day. Come back. The office is open a little early. We tell them still no hot water or fire. He tries a few more things. Can't get results. Refunds us a small amount of money to what a regular room would have costed since we can't use the amenities like the jacuzzi tub or fire place. Okay... some softening to the blow. But still no hot water for showers... after being on the beach with the salty air and wind and sand and sunscreen I would have really liked at least a somewhat normal shower. Never offered us a different room or anything and it didn't appear that they were booked out. Weird smaller TV mounted on the wall with the power cord cut. Bigger TV on table that worked but the remote only worked within 3 feet of the TV. Remote wouldn't change channels if you were laying in bed. No additional refunds. Hotels.com gave me a useless $100 coupon towards my next stay through them which I won't be booking through them.. read more

There were several problems. The stopper in the sink did not work, so had to take it out for the sink to drain. Did not provide with fresh towels after the first night. Could not get ground floor with two beds. Carpet was a little dirty. No staff available for many hours.Did not provide with instructions of how to operate the TV, and remotes were confusing. I've stayed here when I was a kid and it is the BEST place to vacation at! It's not to far from the pier so you can get fresh seafood, but not only that but also the go carts are my favorite. Hence the last time I was here was when I was 6, but this was one of my favorite past times when I was here in Westport! Always will be! We got snowed in by the post-Christmas storm and were forced to spend an extra night in Westport (had to check out of our rented condo). I was a little apprehensive given some of the reviews, but maybe people expect too much. We were delighted with the studio we rented. It was clean, the bed comfortable, the heater worked!! as did the TV, the kitchenette was well stocked (better than our condo) and the management exceedingly helpful (the manager stopped by in the afternoon to ask if we needed anything from the store!!). Yes it's rustic but so is the rest of Westport. Old is ok as long as it works and everything worked. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to stay again, unless maybe if the go-karts were running at night. read more

Me and my friends went to go kart and the man running the go karts KICKED my friend's kart, and called my friends names. Then proceeded to kick us off the property as if we did something wrong when one of my friends' mom went in to apologize and set things right. He implied that we were stupid and reckless claiming we didn't know how to follow instructions, when no one was acting in such a way. My friends were confused because he was unclear with his instructions to them and no one ended up enjoying their ride. read more

The Owners talk trash about other businesses in town but fail to mention, or don't realize that they have a BAD reputation as Employers. I was warned and tried anyways. Great for the whole family...we had a very large party of 17 and their "family wing" accommodated all of us, they even have an on-site gocart track (for additional charge, but discounted if you stay). The rooms could use some updating but are kept very clean, I had lots of fun "envisioning" how I would remodel tho (too much HGTV). Highly recommend!! read more

Hubby and I stayed here over the Independence holiday. I'd reserved a king jacuzzi room, but when I checked in and mentioned we had a pet, I was informed that it wasn't a pet room. Guess I didn't read the fine print on Expedia - not all rooms are pet-friendly, just be aware. Fortunately, a queen jacuzzi pet-friendly room was still available so that's where we landed. The room was spacious and clean, and included a mini fridge and microwave. There was also a box fan - yay! We didn't use the coffee maker, but there were filters and ground coffee available. (If you're particular about your coffee, bring your own grounds). An older review said the bathroom was small but we didn't find that to be the case. I'd suggest a little bigger TV in the room. The only "issue" we had was the close proximity of our room to the outdoor undercover patio people gathered at to chat; it got pretty noisy at times. The owners did take care of the noise at 10 pm though, so grateful for that. Nice place to stay; we'd recommend it. read more

We so wanted to like this place. We booked a "kitchenette suite" that was anything but sweet. It's an outbuilding that was converted to 4 rooms of the odd most shape. Not very functional or comfortable. The walls are extremely thin and you can hear even the quietest conversation from the neighbors. The hot water was not working when we checked in, but maintenance was on it. Came back later to find the toilet partially dissembled and tools on the floor. It's a mom and pop operation, so we chuckled a bit and let it go. After a very hot day in town, we decided to settle down for the evening and went to turn the AC on. Except the room doesn't have any... Fortunately the room has an all wood finish, so we can claim we slept in a sauna. Again, we really liked the staff. They were great, but we won't be booking here again read more

My husband and I stayed here in September 2013 for a weekend. We purchased the room through a living social deal. We stayed in one of the fireplace / Jacuzzi suites and were very happy with our stay! The room was VERY spacious, even with a king size bed and Jacuzzi tub. We didn't use the fireplace because it wasn't cold enough to need heat. The Jacuzzi was wonderful and filled up quickly. Fits 2 people very nicely. The room was clean and well stocked with towels, coffee, soap, shampoo, etc. Cable and flat screen TV as well as a microwave and mini fridge. Many windows on our room, which we could open and have a nice breeze come inside. Outside the room is a balcony / walkway that has some Adirondack chairs and small tables. This was very nice to be able to sit outside, drink some coffee, and just enjoy being out of the city. It is right on the road but there wasn't a lot of traffic. Our room was at the very end of the balcony, so wouldn't have had to worry about any other guests passing by. Though, there was only one other room occupied anyway. Each room had chairs and some had bigger outdoor tables too. Our living social deal included a ride on the go karts, which was fun! No one was waiting, so the gentleman let us go for what seemed like quite a while. Afterward, we had a nice conversation with him and found out he knew someone from my hometown... Our living social deal also included sparkling cider and popcorn! When we entered the room, there was a nice little basket with a bottle of sparkling cider, 2 bags of popcorn, wine glasses, and cloth napkins. We didn't know they would do this but after room service came through while we were gone, they refilled the basket with cider and popcorn. Very close to downtown Westport, just a short little drive. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay there and would absolutely go back! read more

We loved our stay at Breakers. Quiet, calm relaxing. The owners are great. You can tell they really care about the property and guests. You can't beat the $4 go cart races and its so close to greys harbor. I wouldn't expect fancy. But its extremely clean and cared for. They were extremely kind to our boys 11 and 13. Also make sure you ask them about tricks and tips for fishing and the city after all theyve lived here for 20 plus years and have seen it all. I am certain to return to use the free crab traps for guests!! read more

I know this is likely owned by some small family operator so I hate giving a poor review... but... I have no idea how anyone rates this above a 2. Let me start with the positive. The clerk was a really nice lovely lady. Chatty, friendly and helpful. New to the job so not entirely sure how to complete the transaction but we got through it. Now we are finished with the positives! I went to room #203. I opened the door and literally gagged from the smell. It was something like a pine sol cleaner smell trying to cover up animal odor... nope, not staying here! I went down and spoke with the lady at the front desk. She was great and transferred me to 201. Not much better, but it was better. It was late, I'd been driving all night. I wasn't going to go looking for another room when this one was already paid for. SO, I settled in. The first odd thing is the room slopes down about four to six inches at the entry door to the room (on the inside). The ceiling on the other opposite wall sloped downward in a perpendicular direction. The Shower was about 3'x3'. I am 6'2" and wear a 50" coat. So let's just say get all the soap out of all those creases below the waste was a challenge ;o) The next challenge was the toilet. Again... I am 6'2". I had to sit sideways on the toilet because my knees didn't clear the wall in front of the toilet. Pretty stinking funny all things considered. It was warm, quiet and safe. There had been an attempt to cosmetically update the property. But it was not clean and just smelled bad. The rest was kind of funny but totally survivable. read more

Our family loves to come stay here at The Breakers and by family I mean the aunties and the uncles and the cousins and the Gramma and Gramps! We love their Group/Family Wing which includes up to five bedrooms and a great kitchen. The fisher people go fishing while the beach lovers take to the beaches. There are plenty of other more traditional rooms for a family traveling on their own. Clean, kindly and courteous. The best! read more

I stayed here for a romantic couples weekend. A week after I was there I noticed an unexplained charge for 200$ on my credit card. I immediately called to find out why as no one had contacted me about it, and the very rude lady on the other end stated that I had been smoking in her room. I explained that I do not smoke and have plenty of proof to back it up. She then changed her story that it was marijuana being smoked in the room. Again I denied it. We absolutely did not smoke any reefer in her hotel. She became even more snippety with me saying she could smell it in the sheets. She refused to refund the charge - which is paramount to theft and CC fraud. read more

We stopped in to ride the go karts and were so happy when we left! The young man who helped us was engaging, friendly, and very concerned about my nephew when he was accidentally bumped by my other nephew. When we were leaving town about a half hour later, we drove by and waved "bye" to the go karts and he was still outside and waved back at us! Made my nephews laugh for a long time! We will definitely be back and are thankful for the wonderful customer service! read more

We love this place, by far exceeded our expectations. The room and location was very clean. Rooms have recently been updated. We thought the bed was really comfortable, not to hard like other places. Staff was very helpful. I had questions about the family wing (which is also impressive) and she gave me a tour of the rooms. This will be very helpful for planning family vacations later this year. Unfortunately trip plans changed and we ended up needing 3 people (rather than 2) to stay in a room with one bed for one night. We were willing to make this work with one person sleeping on the floor for a night as there were no other rooms available, but breakers staff did not want to allow this and made this into a very big ordeal. Eventually they agreed to let us stay, but not without first explaining that we would be charged the full amount for the room and should call other hotels in town. Other hotels were booked so they said we could stay but they were very rude and unhelpful in the process. They were unwilling to work together to a solution and I will never stay here or recommend this place. I did not feel comfortable staying at a place where I was treated in this way and they did not refund any of my money (even after I asked for a partial refund) and they did not have a written cancellation policy that they were willing to show me. The main house smells very musty and I wouldn't be surprised if the rooms were the same: old and musty. Prices are also some of THE HIGHEST in Westport, and the location is not ideal. It is not on the water or within close walking distance of the marina. Would definitely recommend the Westport inn or islander before booking at this place. One positive: woman at the front desk was kind and more willing to work with me. read more

Fantastic owners and manager! Every year we travel to this hotel and have great experiences every time. Their rooms are extremely clean and well furnished. Beds feel new and are very comfortable. Go carts are in the parking lot and the guest price is great -$4.00. They had space to park campers and boats. They take the no smoking policy seriously which was greatly appreciated! read more

My boyfriend and I wanted a weekend out of town and i wanted it to be romantic. Breakers has jacuzzi rooms that are so fun. We went during the off season so we had the place to ourselves. The room was great. Comfy bed, jacuzzi for 2 and a fireplace to set the mood. We will be back for sure. We have to ride the go karts next time. read more

My husband and I visited Westport for the weekend, and stayed here on a Saturday night in one of the kitchenette studios. We booked at this hotel based on cost (fairly priced in comparison to others in the area) and the fact that they allow dogs (in certain rooms, for $10/pet). The staff was friendly, and our room was clean and adequately stocked with towels, soap, and cable tv. The hotel itself is in a good location, just down the street from the boardwalk. My only complaint about this hotel is the noise. Probably due to the fact that it's an older building, but we could clearly hear conversations in the rooms next door (late into the night), as well as the go-cart track during the day (however our only window did look directly at it). The kitchenette studios were in a different building than the other rooms, so perhaps the walls are thicker in the main building. Overall it's a fine place to stay if you aren't looking for anything fancy. read more
