The positive reviews from folks in this age bracket really stuck out to me. I don't live in San Diego, so I had the added challenge of finding someone without being able to personally meet them. I sent Pedro an online inquiry and he called me right away to discuss what we were looking for and where my mom's starting place would be, and then she went in for her first 1:1 session. My mom has been a regular almost daily walker for many years, but was gradually losing a little balance and mobility and had a few scary falls in the past few years. I knew that some strength and resistance training could really help her, but that the program and person needed to be the right fit such that she would feel comfortable and motivated to stick with it. Six months later, I can say that we found the perfect person in Pedro! My mom has been meeting with Pedro once a week for six months, and every week, she tells me how good she feels and how much stronger she is getting and tells me about all the exercises they did together. She even says it's the best present I've ever got for her ;). Pedro sends helpful videos of her progress and encouraging text messages in between sessions, and I can easily see my mom's movements and strength are so improved. She and Pedro even work on stairs so that she'll be ready next time she visits my old multistory home! Best of all, I think she is feeling more happy and confident. I called to get more information on their program and tell them what I was looking to work on. Unfortunately the owner was on vacation and distracted when he took my call. We still managed to communicate. I came in for information session and decided to join later. I bought the 10 class package which included nutrition guidance. Alright here it goes: The good: Small intimate gym. Their good at what they do. Good personal trainer, shout out to Kamila! I learned a lot about my body, strength, muscles, lack of strength in 10 sessions. I now have enough information to workout properly on my own. I had a couple injuries and they managed to work around them- again very competent staff. The price per session is on the lower end for the area. The bad: They don't have easy/modern scheduling system. One day I showed up and had no trainer! there had been some miscommunication over coverage which goes back to my previous (point). It can get crowded with even just four people and loud depending on the day. Never received nutrition guidance, I reached out a few times and felt like I was chasing the owner. They don't wipe machines/mats before use. In the end you can do a lot with a little bit, but it shouldn't be at the inconvenience of clients. $85 per session is not a little bit of money. They definitely need some updates on how they operate and schedule clients sessions.

Additionally, cleaning and maintenance crews come regularly to make sure the equipment is functioning perfectly and is pristine, disinfected, and sanitized. Chris has become more than a trainer to me. He is someone who pushes me to be my best self, motivates me to work hard for the sound mind and body I've always wanted, and he makes everything fun. Personal Training with Chris has changed my life and both he and the studios are worth every penny. As someone who isn't a "gym person", I've always felt comfortable because Chris is very personable and his other clients are friendly, welcoming, fun (and some are wildly hilarious...which always makes a great start to my mornings)!
