Fast forward to today, and he's now a swim coach here and absolutely loves it. There's something really special about seeing things come full circle. He remembered his experience here so fondly that he decided to apply for a job, and now he's thriving in a place that once helped him grow and build confidence in the water. The environment here has always been welcoming and family-focused, and it's clear they continue to create positive experiences for both kids and staff. They're lucky to have Brody, and he's certainly lucky to be part of such a great team. I still highly recommend the noon and family swim sessions - they're such a fun way for families to enjoy the pool together.

In just 8 sessions, Coach Dave helped him learn the foundations of swimming with so much patience, encouragement, and professionalism. There are two levels of membership, the required one, which has an annual fee approaching $500, and which only allows up to six visits per year, and the unlimited one with an annual fee nearing $700. When people buy in this area, they are adequately informed of their future financial obligations. The facility is quite nice, the other members are generally friendly and most of the lower level staff are equally friendly and capable. There exists two pool areas, one reserved for seniors, adequate shade, and also an ok fitness facility. There are areas for children, many tennis and pickleball courts, meeting rooms, and several annual family picnic events. Of late, many of the required members, who often moved here when the annual rate was much lower, have been unhappy with the cost for something they do not use, and if they did, it would be around $80 per visit, while the enhanced members can attend daily if they so please, possibly at as low a rate as $2 per visit. I understand the need for funding of the physical plant and of adequate reserves for future expenses, and would not personally use the facilities much anymore, as 80 is in my rear view, but think that the board should consider an increase in the allowed annual allowed number of visits equal on a percentage basis to the lat ten years of financial obligatory increases. This might mitigate some of the current unhappiness. And no, I don't wish to serve on the board of directors. Been there, done that.

RBSTC is an old HOA membership only club (for people that live in the community). It is dated, crowded, and very guarded with partitions, fences/gates to separate different activities. They are very strict with tracking and making sure guests are checked in properly. You feel like you're visiting a friend in prison with all the info and form that you have to fill out and sign. But once you get through the check point, the facility is quite nice with swimming pool, tennis courts, pickleball courts, basketball courts, batting cages, etc. Pickleball is the latest craze and is very popular among club members. RBSTC has 8 pickleball courts to accommodate the demands. The courts are nicely surfaced and maintained. However, the center fences are too close to one side of the back courts which hindered your movement and serves. It's great that the courts have lights so you can play at night. But they should upgrade to LED lights for better visual and to enhance play.

My family recently joined LA Fitness and we've had such a positive experience so far. The location…read moreis fantastic, right across from 4S Commons Town Center, so it's super convenient to grab groceries, coffee or tea before or after a workout. It makes fitting the gym into my routine so much easier. From the beginning, the staff has been friendly, welcoming and helpful. Brandon especially made the whole process easy by taking the time to explain the membership options clearly and answer all of our questions. We really appreciated how patient and knowledgeable he was. I've already tried the yoga and aqua fitness classes and loved both of them. The atmosphere is really positive and motivating. The only challenge is that the gym can get pretty busy at certain times, so some of the equipment is often occupied. I'm still figuring out the best times to come in for a smoother workout experience. Very excited to try the newly opened Glute Room next, and maybe Pilates too. Really looking forward to continuing my fitness journey here!

Unfortunately, my experience with the account manager was disappointing. He did not introduce himself at the beginning of the call, and I had to ask for his name. As someone who was genuinely interested in rejoining, I expected a more welcoming and professional approach. I shared my history as a loyal member and explained that I was looking forward to coming back. However, the response I received felt transactional and dismissive. The tone came across as "this is the current deal -- take it or leave it," rather than an effort to understand my needs or build a relationship. The politeness and customer engagement that one would expect in a membership discussion were noticeably missing. As a returning customer, I hoped for a warmer interaction and a bit more effort in explaining options or acknowledging my previous loyalty. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as I still believe in the value of LA Fitness but would appreciate a more customer-focused experience moving forward.

I searched for an adaptive swimming coach for my young son (he was about 10 years old then) who was…read morenot only a professional with swimming training credentials but one who was also personable, flexible, and patient.  We wanted our son to develop swimming skills, learn water safety, improve his coordination and strength while having fun and boosting his confidence.   We found it in Coach Jeff and happily worked with him for over two years. He has helped our son be where he is today - an excellent and confident swimmer with awareness and appreciation of his surroundings whether he is swimming alone or with a big crowd.

Our son is a…read moreclub swimmer, but he is emotional & a perfectionist, so we were seeking some technique & confidence support for him. I came across Jeff via Yelp & OH MY GOSH does he know what he's doing!! Our son had a swim meet after just 3 lessons with Jeff & he was already able to drop 3 seconds off his 50 Free time! On top of all of this, Jeff is very patient; but also keeps our son working hard the entire lesson (because he actually WANTS to). Jeff breaks everything down for our son in a way he can understand. I truly could go on & on, but when it comes to swim lessons in San Diego- Jeff is the only way to go! (& that's coming from someone who drives 45 mins each way to meet up with him!)
