Best way to explore the town and surrounding area. Great Bikes and no need to peddle unless you want the exercise. Very relaxed introduction to the bike. Not much information needed, just hop on and go. This business will grow as word gets out. My husband and I enjoyed a late May day on the extreme jet boat tour. It was booked for 4 hours, and they were completely helpful about getting a perfectly convenient time for us. We ended out for even longer than that. Our guide, Eric, has been leading tours like this and others for decades, and every year of his experience shined through! We got Alaskan history, local legend and lore, He worked really hard to point out animals, and plants and interesting geographic and scientific facts. We were on a swanky cruise who was charging more than double for a similar experience, and I can't imaging people got to see anywhere near as much as we did, or with such a lively presentation and discussion. His boat got us into very small channels that looked untouched by humans. He took us too a natural hot spring, where we relaxed for nearly an hour, met some locals there, had such a nice time. It was a special and incredibly memorable trip. I can't recommend them enough! read more

We used Breakaway Adventures for the LeConte Glacier tour and as a water taxi from Wrangell to Coffman Cove. The Glacier Tour was right up there as an all time favorite. I had talked to Eric in January and in August our trip was everything he described. Our tour guide was Spencer who absolutely loves his home town and shared lots of fun stories about life in Alaska. Once we got to the glacier, we had plenty of time to sit and watch it calve. We were surrounded by icebergs topped witth sunning seals. Our water taxi to Coffman Cove was fun as Eric drove. He taxis the school kids to their various sporting events and we were taking a load of books to the Coffman Cove library. Highly reccomended business. read more

we went to the anan bear adventure and the stikine river tour. Both were spectacular. Eric and Tom were quite knowledgeable and friendly. It was like taking a tour with your good friend. We saw 15 bears up close and personal, and then played in the blue ice glaciers on the Stacks river. Such beautiful scenery we ran out of photo memory. You wont be disappointed. read more

Once in a life time experience!! We took the LeConte Glacier / Petersburg Tour with Eric and it was an amazing experience. We spent hours in front of the breaking Glacier waiting for calving and watching harbor seals. Eric is a great guide, very knowledgeable and it was fun to be with him all day long. Booked a Le Conte glacier tour on line while on a cruise ship. We were so pleasantly surprised by the absolutely fantastic ice berg sculptures (were far better than those we saw on ship's tours) and the glacier was calving the whole time we were there. My wife and I did the Stikine river jet boat trip and it was a full day of fun! Eric has great knowledge of the area and takes you off the main channel through beautiful areas and even stopped at the hot springs for a short soak in the hot tub. Hot tub in the wilderness...great! Wow, were we ripped off! We talked to Eric months ahead, and he told us he would tailor the bear watching to our schedule. We could have up to 5 hours. So we spent a lot of money to arrive the night before and stay the night after, expecting the full 8 hour adventure that he promised, with 4-5 hours of bear watching. So he lied. He put us in a group of 14, and some of them flew in that morning and out that night, so there was time for 2 hours with the bears. I guess he was too cheap to use two boats to the bear park. We were shocked to be torn away after only two hours, and we never got time on the lower deck, close to the bears, because they surprised us with the sudden departure. Some folks from our hotel were with AlaskaVistas.com, and when we were torn away at 2 pm, they told us they were staying till 6 pm closing. It was supposed to be a once in a lifetime experience, and Eric, the owner, destroyed it. He did not respond to phone calls or emails.\ afterwards. read more
