They have a delicious selection of cakes and buns that should fit anyone's sweet tooth, I particulary recommend there doughnuts, some of the best you will ever taste! They also do a nice selection of warm and cold sandwiches and cobs. For my money, they offer better value and taste than a highstreet sandwich chain such as Subway. Price wise, they are very competitive with the big chains, on some items you may pay slightly more, but the quality is always worth it. They are a really friendly bunch in here and you will get proper service with a smile, not someone imperonally taking your order. It can get busy here at lunchtimes, as you would expect, but service is efficient and I have never waited more than 10 minutes to be served and have my order completed.

Everything is made fresh every day, and every lunch time there is a queue out of the door. Service is pretty fast as it's over the high, goody-filled counter, but it's always polite. The BLT sandwiches are salty and full of awesome, the fresh cream cakes are hard to resist, and the custard slices are cut far more neatly than mine at home. I'm not particularly fond of the chocolate numbers myself, if I'm tempted, I go for the rhubarb and cherry slices (super moist), and things like the Belgian buns are pretty snazzy too. A couple of things worth noting are- They have a slicing machine- so if there's any loaves you want, but are only capable of cutting diagonal doorsteps at home, they can deal with it. If you want a hot sausage or bacon sandwich for example, you're possibly going to have a little wait as they like to cook things fresh. If you ring in advance, you can avoid standing in the corner by the fridge of drinks for a short while.

All feature crisp crusts and great solid texture unlike the mushy industrial breads at the supermarkets. Their lunch sandwiches are a treat as well. And beyond the breads the pastries and cakes are great as well. Even the pizzas offered Thursday evenings are excellent. The staff are friendly as well, but it can get very busy so a wait can be expected. The bread is a bit pricier than average at about £3 each, but you get what you pay for.
